Previous thread

How’s that for a title?!

Well, I’ve done a deal on the car. Actually it drives very nicely. I can see it’s practical. And it’s not an old banger.

It’s not very me. But it is sensible, and sensible I must be.

Actually got some kip last night. 9-5.

How’s everyone else doing? Justilou is it warm in Oz? One of my best friends lives there and I haven’t seen her for too long. RandomMess have you managed to have a better night / find out when you’re going home?

I haven’t told him about handing it over to the solicitor and no mediation on Friday yet. Waiting for the notes and financial summery from the mediator first. Hopefully today.

Well then, only pack the things that you will be taking.

It's a tough time of year when you are feeling low. Be kind to yourself. It's ok to curl in front of the fire with the kids.

RandomMess · 16/12/2020 17:41

He is a complete dick.

I agree you pack what you are taking to your house. Presumably you are moving out before the sale completes so he can't just take all the boxes you've packed and leave you without??

Again please reconsider your plans for Christmas Day Thanks

CheshireCats · 16/12/2020 17:46

He's refusing to pack his own stuff?? I would be telling him it would all be crates up and going to charity then. Do not pack his stuff. Twat.

ArrowsOfMistletoe · 16/12/2020 18:53

You pack your stuff and the kids' stuff, you leave his stuff. It's 100% his problem, - just you make sure that you are ready to go to your new place when the time comes.

StuckInPollyannaMode · 16/12/2020 19:37

He's clearly been talking to someone. Either that or he's reading this thread...

Came home tonight and said 'let me be clear, I want to find some time to pack and do my fair share of sorting out'

So he's backtracking.

Speaking to a colleague today about the Scroll of Doom and she thinks the point I've made in mediation and that he makes in it about me not being entitled to various things is a perfect example of his coercion and would be discounted in court from her experience.

I think I'm getting a cold. All tired and headachy. Not even tempted by my usual snifter of stolen alcohol. Going to head to bed and hope that its not a cold, it's not the dreaded plague, and that I wake up feeling stronger tomorrow.

Thank you for bearing with me on a couple of down days. Can I just say, the joy I get from everyone's usernames is immense. I'd love to know why you all chose them. Hopefully mine is fairly self-explanatory.

I totally agree about him being a complete dick.

I'm just recovering from the dreaded plague and it started with a headache and tiredness.

dexterslockedintheshedagain · 16/12/2020 20:06

Who on earth says 'let me be clear' to anyone, except politicians?!
He's a tit.
My user name - we have another fridge outside in the garage, used for extra milk chocolate etc. We also have a rather dark coloured dog, called Dexter (of course) who has a habit of following me into said garage which is called the shed here. I don't put the light on, as the fridge light is enough. Sometime later we'll hear plaintive barking from the shed - yup, Dexter has followed me in, I've not seen him in the dark, and I've locked him in again!!!
Daft wammal, but we love him 🐶

TreacleHart · 16/12/2020 20:07

Be prepared for him to get petty about furniture.
When I was divorcing mine ( I was the one moving out ) He argued and put down on ' his list of wanted to keep items ' a coffee table that my place of work had bought us ( me ) as a wedding present . I think he was disappointed when I didn't show any great interest in fighting for it .

dexterslockedintheshedagain · 16/12/2020 20:08

He also stole my cheese sandwich the other day. Bloody enjoying too, I was

Mine is a actually a reference to my mental health- high anxiety, high stress, high depression.

I am much better at the slightly detached way of interacting on an Internet forum than I am in real life. My "old" brain with it's constant fight or flight response being in control and I have just embarked on psychotherapy via the NHS yet again...

Very much hold it together

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 16/12/2020 20:14

Flowers Brandy hot chocolate will sort it OP.

I wasn't on the previous thread, but my DH has catastrophically fucked up the cling film yesterday, so I clicked on this hoping for tips Grin

And I stole my username from Classics.

RandomMess · 16/12/2020 20:14
Grin

On the outside when often failing apart on the inside!

CoolCatTaco · 16/12/2020 20:44

I got my name from 10 year old DD, she thinks it's cool. She doesn't even like tacos, but she is a cool cat! Wink

C0NNIE · 16/12/2020 21:12

I wish I had an interesting name / story! Maybe it shows I’m a boring person Blush

@dexterslockedintheshedagain your dog has a very guilty expression on his face.

dexterslockedintheshedagain · 16/12/2020 21:17

@C0NNIE
He is a professional victim! My other dog, Ruby, doesn't give a damn... she is BADASS

Sorry OP, I digress.
Dogs are waaay better than men. For most things anyway

My current username is a seasonal name change - I'm normally pointythings because my two sport things are fencing and archery. Seasonally I've gone for something Christmassy but also incorporating a dark bit of archery-related Norse myth.

You're allowed down days, by the way. Just look after yourself and if you can't be PollyAnna, be Ruby Gloom.

DartmoorDoughnut · 16/12/2020 21:33

I live on the edge of Dartmoor and like doughnuts 🤷🏻‍♀️😂

tiredvommachine · 16/12/2020 22:20

I joined MN in the throes of morning sickness with DS 😷

timeisnotaline · 16/12/2020 22:24

Came home tonight and said 'let me be clear, I want to find some time to pack and do my fair share of sorting out'
I think there’s a response - let me be clear. I will not be packing your things and if you don't ‘manage to find the time’ things not packed will be dumped.

StuckInPollyannaMode · 17/12/2020 03:05

Woken myself up sneezing and have come down to forage for hot squash. Must be bad. I’ve a runny nose and a sore throat and blocked ears (at least that means I’m spared Gellar-isms) @WickyWackyWooWa so from everything I’ve seen that puts me in the clear but please say if yours started the same way - I do hope you’re feeling better - great name too

Loving the stories! @dexterslockedintheshedagain beautiful hounds. I have to ask though, how on earth do you have such a thing as ‘spare chocolate’?!

@RandomMess I hope you feel better for the therapy. You’re such a support and very thoughtful and considerate in the way you come across on here, I do hope you’re ok.

@ArrowsOfMistletoe cool sports to be into! I tried fencing a couple of times. I was shit Grin

@JesusInTheCabbageVan oh my! I remember that thread - so good I might have to go back and have a look!

@C0NNIE see, I don’t think it’s boring at all. It’s actually one of my favourite names and I was strongly considering it for one of mine but a friend nipped in before me.

@DartmoorDoughnut love Dartmoor and also big fan of doughnuts. When do you want me to pop over?! @TreacleHart also a good food one, or have I got the wrong idea?

I’m no-so-secretly hoping @TheFrenchLieutenantsMonkey will come back with the story of their user name by the way.

@CoolCatTaco and there I was thinking you were some kind of Latin American jazz enthusiast 🤣 gosh I’ve not had tacos for ages...

@tiredvommachine brings back memories 😂

@timeisnotaline yeah, you’re right. Unfortunately we can’t dump here as the tips and charity shops have to be booked, but I could certainly take it with me and then sell it!

Gosh I hope I hear back from SHL tomorrow. Is it wrong I’m quite looking forward to her response?

Right, time to curl up on the sofa with dear Georgette Heyer and my squash for a bit.

My name is a mix of my first and middle names, but I think I am responsible for your name, @StuckInPollyannaMode. This is how I described my DH’s rose-coloured denial method and it’s become a mumsnet term now. My life assistant (who dumps me for the DH whenever possible) is Ivy the Dogfail. She is a 55kg, tumbleweed-shedding ball of anxiety. She is afraid of dogs. (Really - especially dachshunds!) Her ears only made it to half-mast like the flying nun and I think it makes her look like Shaun the Sheep. (He’s a good deal smarter, though... and braver.)
I do hope you feel better ASAP. We are ALL looking forward to hearing what SHL have to say!!! Geller is a twat. No question. I definitely agree that you pack only what you need and want and leave the rest for him to sort. Make sure you make lots of “generous” overtones while doing so. Mention everything you are “sacrificing” for his “benefit”. If he leaves it there, he can pay for it to be cleared out.

Oops - bumped the post button. Make sure that your official move out date is prior to his, so that clean up and bills, etc. fall in his lap.

Happynow001 · 17/12/2020 05:18

@StuckInPollyannaMode

I want to add my voice to those who say you are doing incredibly well. Whenever you feel a stumble and have a down day stop for a moment, take some long, slow, meditative yoga breaths and focus only on those breaths until you feel stronger. I've used that often just to still internal panic and, a few times, when I've been having minor medical interventions and that's helped immensely.

Also take a couple of paracetamol to help with the cold symptoms (and blocked ear feeling) and gargle with warm salt water for the sore throat. Look after you, my dear and hold on. I hope you hear from your SHL very soon. 🌹

RandomMess · 17/12/2020 06:29

I hope you managed to snooze, colds are just horrid Thanks

I also have a dog fail, at least I can blame it on being a rescue. Super anxious and very needy but very loyal unless food is on offer elsewhere 😀

tiredvommachine · 17/12/2020 08:14

I hope you're feeling a bit better this morning, I've been brewing something for the past couple of days and have a sore throat, but just the one tonsil hurts... Odd! 😁
