We had a ONS just before lockdown and have been chatting since. He added me on FB today.

What a disappointment GrinGrin

Sounds like a MLMer.

YRGAM · 14/06/2020 22:23

That's a shame, you could have had some lovely moments on your Live, Laugh, Love cushions in your future house

ColourMeExhausted · 14/06/2020 22:24

Would be a deal breaker for me! Unless (giving him the huge benefit of doubt here) he is posting them in an ironic sense??

RockThrills · 14/06/2020 22:35

Maybe he'll start inviting you to his herbalife/yooooooounique/MLM parties next

ThinkPinkStink · 14/06/2020 22:41

If you dump him he'll only respond with "If you don't love me at my worst, you don't deserve me at my best"

:-)

Yester · 14/06/2020 22:43

Live to the best you there is and ...run for the fucking hills.

Usually linked in with shit taste in TV, mild xenophobia and dull conversations. (Or is that just my MIL?)

DelphiniumBlue · 14/06/2020 22:48

I agree with Florence. Your second post was ageist and unpleasant.
And your" lighten up" comment sound a lot like " it was only a joke".
It's a shame because the point made in the title is something a lot of us would agree with.

Fallsballs · 14/06/2020 22:49

I’d be worried about his IQ
I think quotes are a bit stupid and vapid.

PrincessHoneysuckle · 14/06/2020 22:49

Could be worse I had someone bring crystals on our first date

AlwaysOnAbloodyDiet · 14/06/2020 22:58

Was the ONS at his or yours?

Did he have scented candles, hanging love hearts, an owl cushion, and 'Live, Laugh, Love' stencilled across his living room wall?

Was there no clues at all? ShockShockShock

SandyY2K · 14/06/2020 23:04

There's nothing wrong with the quote IMO. I quite like inspiring quotes though and I find a lot of them make a lot of sense.

You're clearly not compatible.... no loss on either side.

Crystalspider · 14/06/2020 23:10

@PeaPeaEeByGum

Sounds like a MLMer.
lol so true, my XH became one, always had these cringy quotes and self help books. I thought there was something miserable about me, it's like a cult.
DiscoInFurlough · 14/06/2020 23:18

His initials arent M R are they?
Someone close to me dated one of these... turned out he was a massively abusive violent arsehole but spent his whole time pretending on facebook he wasnt by posting attention seeking quotes all day.

It always smells a bit of desperation to come across a certain way and seem intelligent and enlightened, except anyone with any intelligence knows it actually shows a below average IQ. Ironic really Confused

LightDrizzle · 14/06/2020 23:18

Oh dear!
I think you now know each other well enough for you to confide your dominatrix side and has he fantasised about being fucked with a massive strap-on?
By text of course. Not in person in case it’s a bullseye.

I used to like inspirational quotes on Facebook. But then I used to like Facebook. The odd one is fine but if their wall (is it still called a wall) is full of that shite then let him go.

JackiFazaki · 14/06/2020 23:55

I thought I'd call in to tell the OP that it's defo not me posting those naff quotes.Wink

donquixotedelamancha · 15/06/2020 00:07

Really rude though.

Yes, it's terrible when people are rude, isn't it.

If you’re twatty enough to use Facebook then you must be used to it.

I think you should PM Jacky with his details, OP. Obviously you can never see him again.

JackiFazaki · 15/06/2020 00:10

Don't be sending me some eejits details.
I can find my own eejits thanks.

RightOnTheEdge · 15/06/2020 00:20

If you dump him he'll only respond with "If you don't love me at my worst, you don't deserve me at my best"

ThinkPinkStink GrinGrinGrin

ProseccoBubbleFantasies · 15/06/2020 00:40

And this too shall pass, OP.

TinyPigeon · 15/06/2020 01:06

Ewww. And you had sex with him Envy

You're tainted now.

Flamingnora123 · 15/06/2020 02:24

The only inspirational quote I like is, "Don't let the bastards grind you down, you're a fucking gem."

I'd get rid now OP before your mates find out who you shagged.

Fallsballs · 15/06/2020 08:25

If you’re lucky he’ll post an inspirational post about your sexy times.

Judethe0bscure · 15/06/2020 08:31

Think OP is pissed off because that quote was possibly a passive aggressive comment about their status.
