Lighthearted really....

Been talking to someone online. He's nice. Makes me laugh and we get on well. We've exchanged a few photos. He has completely opposite taste in footwear. The kinda things my teenage son might wear. Am I being hugely shallow Grin

Also, there's nothing worse than someone turning up in inappropriate shoes. No, I don't want to pay for a taxi because some vain person is wearing heels. Comfortable shoes all the way.

My exh wore girls Dr Martens buckle up shoes on our first date . I was appalled but decided to overlook it . I shouldn't have done . Turned out to be a secret cross dresser that wasn't so secret ..

Just wanted to add that I have absolutely no issue with trainers. It was the specific trainer that I have issues with. I wear trainers most of the time too.
But he has arenas. I just find it slightly Hmm that someone late 40s would buy and like them, I know it's a matter of individual taste but clearly him and I like different things... Which is OK.... I think Grin

My ex - let me tell you about my ex. We were great friends before we married, we were great friends after we divorced, it was just the middle bit...?Wink
Anyway, I got a new bloke and we met my ex for a drink (and for ex to check him over)? His result = nice enough bloke but he wears brothel creepers Grin
So those slip-on mock suede shoes with thick synthetic soles have always been brothel creepers to meGrinGrinGrin

My ex had scruffy teenager shoes. He also had a scruffy teenager's car. And flat. He was 30. He acted like a teenager and consequently funked up our family by having a childish affair (the way he went about it). Next!

motherheroic · 14/06/2020 14:32

@inmyshoos What the Balenciaga ones? I agree they look a bit childish to me. But you have to assume he was trying to impress Grin

inmyshoos · 14/06/2020 15:15

@motherheroic yes the balenciagas. They're just not my cuppa even if you're 21 not 40s Grin
But he's a nice guy Wink

Just googled Arenas - they are ugly looking trainers OP. LTB.

inmyshoos · 15/06/2020 00:38

I went on a date with a guy who turned up in jeans and a suit jacket! I couldn't get away fast enough!

MingeofDeath · 15/06/2020 01:32

I bet he has superman boxers as well. Ditch him

Hopeisnotastrategy · 15/06/2020 03:57

Unless he’s wearing two foot long clown shoes, wellingtons or flippers, maybe it’s something you could work on OP? 😄

Elieza · 15/06/2020 11:47

🤡 👟 ha ha! Grin

FaceOfASpink · 15/06/2020 11:51

The real psycho abusive men I've known have all had immaculate shoes.

FaceOfASpink · 15/06/2020 11:52

Oo and apparently it's a thing that conmen and salesmen are hot on as well.

DidoLamenting · 15/06/2020 15:29

What about walking? If I'm walking around town, I might not officially be exercising, but I don't want my feet to hurt

I live in a city- I walk everywhere- never owned trainers- not had any problems.

Aerial2020 · 15/06/2020 18:20

Is the whole shoes thing depending on where you live?
Apart from running trainers, some trainers don't even look like trainers and where I live, not many people would care about this sort of thing?
I just don't get the trainers thing Confused

Aerial2020 · 15/06/2020 18:26

Oh, i think it's odd when men wear shoes without socks.
That seems to be quite fashionable.
I don't know why women can pull it off but men look odd? It is that just me?
I do think wear what you like, I do, but i would notice that more than trainers Grin

CountFosco · 15/06/2020 19:52

There's a thing in Wonder where the lead character judges men by their shoes, if they are immaculate he doesn't trust them, they need to be wearing scruffy trainers. He would trust DH a lot!
