Is he doing cocaine?

Bit direct here, but I believe hubby is doing cocaine and I actually need advice, I may be paranoid or there may be a perfectly logical explanation....
Reasons I believe he's on coke- he's anxious, has tummy troubles, sinus problems, I always see tissues in the bin with like bloody snot, bit paranoid, bit defensive and is a bit of an alcoholic. When he drinks sometimes i kiss him and I can smell coke (also I sometimes catch him and he's super shifty!!!) but I just can't rationalise that he's doing coke whilst were watching 'gavin and stacey' for example just having a couple of glasses of wine?

Anyone been in a similar situation? X

You’ll need more evidence than that op really

DerbyshireGirly · 24/05/2020 19:32

Is he eating when you think he's on coke?

vampirethriller · 24/05/2020 19:34

What do you mean, you smell it? What kind of smell?

Jane67996 · 24/05/2020 19:41

I second what PP said, observe if he eats, offer him food during these times etc. If he doesn't eat dinner or has a lowered appetite then yes he's probably doing it.
Don't stick around with a coke head if that is the case. It's a very difficult drug to kick.

sohelpmegod · 24/05/2020 19:41

@DerbyshireGirly I can't really say to be honest? I think in general he doesn't eat much when he's drinking

OP posts:
sohelpmegod · 24/05/2020 19:44

@vampirethriller it smells like coke (i've taken it a handful of times at university), but if you've never done it maybe I could liken it to crushed ibupofren maybe?

At times he's said it's this nasal decongestion spray but I've taken that and it doesn't smell?

OP posts:
DerbyshireGirly · 24/05/2020 19:46

Is he jittery on these evenings? Does he talk a load of shit mainly about himself?

Neepers · 24/05/2020 19:48

Can you see his bank statement for cash withdrawals?

vampirethriller · 24/05/2020 19:52

I used to be an addict, I don't remember ever smelling it on someone else, even kissing them. He'd have to be going out to get it so have you noticed him doing that?

MrsA2017 · 24/05/2020 19:52

What are his pupils like?

sohelpmegod · 24/05/2020 19:55

@vampirethriller yes he went out today to get shopping

I have dated a coke head in the past and been partial to it myself. Is he taking often toilet trips? Taking longer than usual? After hes been go straight in afterwards dust the toilet seat and too with your hand is there any powdery residue? Ask him is he has hayfever gadge the response. The bloody tissues, sniffles etc are real signs. Can he go a few days without trips alone, offer to go with him!again gadge the response etc.

I think its quite likely he has a coke habit.

TwistyHair · 24/05/2020 20:04

What do you mean you catch him and he’s shifty? Catch him at what?

sohelpmegod · 24/05/2020 20:32

@Mummatobe2020 it's hard because in lockdown we can't all go out and we've got children.
Yes he does go to the toilet a lot, but is that just men, especially when drinking?

OP posts:
sohelpmegod · 24/05/2020 20:33

@TwistyHair so I came downstairs and he's acting shifty, I kiss him and I can smell it on him.
He is adamant he's done nothing wrong and it isn't coke, but there is noooo logical explanation!

redbigbananafeet · 24/05/2020 20:34

Follow him to the bathroom and listen. You can hear someone doing lines and sniffing after.

Thewomeninthemirror · 24/05/2020 20:34

Is he really chatty?
Staying in the toilet a little bit longer than it would normally take for a wee?

RaspberryBubblegum · 24/05/2020 20:37

Can you buy at home drug tests and would he take one?

sohelpmegod · 24/05/2020 20:37

He's not really chatty normally but sometimes when he's had a drink he's more talkative. I just wish I either had crystal clear evidence or a logical explanation for everything? X

OP posts:
sohelpmegod · 24/05/2020 20:38

@RaspberryBubblegum yup he said earlier he would take a test.
Starts googling home drug tests... Grin

OP posts:
Lamazey · 24/05/2020 20:39

I would definitely follow him to the loo and listen...there would be definite sniffing

From what I know of coke, isn't it fairly obvious when people have been doing it?

sohelpmegod · 24/05/2020 20:39

If anyone has bought home kits please send me a link with recommendations!!

OP posts:
sohelpmegod · 24/05/2020 20:40

@Lamazey that's what I think, but maybe not like a little pinch?

Ursula2020 · 24/05/2020 20:45

Home health-UK do tests. Unfortunately I've had to use them in a similar situation. Definitely ask to see his bank statements

MarkRuffaloCrumble · 24/05/2020 20:46

I’d chop up some little strips of thick paper (maybe like a white card box) and tell him they’re test strips - see how quickly he offers to pee on them in front of you Grin

Honestly though “you need more evidence”?! Really?! He’s acting like he’s on coke, he smells of it, he’s done it before. Why would you think he’s NOT on coke?!
