Can I leave 'D'H to go to my parents?

Hi all,

I need to leave my abusive husband and go to my parents with our DD?

He's more mentally abusive and emotional than physical - although he was last year. He's a very heavy drinker and he is insanely jealous and controlling.

It's a very long story to tell all on here but I need to go.

Can I go to my parents - would that be allowed considering Covid etc?!

When it comes to issues such as these, the last thing you should be thinking of are the rules for CV. I know from my brother in law (policeman with domestic violence and sexual offences unit) that if you were to call the police, these is an extremely good chance they will help you to leave. Good luck and this time... don't get talked into going back. Read your own post! It's scary.

4piecesofCheeseontoast · 12/04/2020 21:34

Op get out as soon as you can, as previous posters have said even its 2am, just get your DD and go. 💐

Sparkle733 · 12/04/2020 21:35

Good luck with everything! Stay safe and take care!

ChewChewIsMySpiritAnimal · 12/04/2020 21:42

Good luck op. You're definitely doing the right thing.

Embracelife · 12/04/2020 21:44

Yes
Go

Bananalanacake · 12/04/2020 21:46

Yes. It's good he is drunk and will be passed out. Hopefully you have time to pack a few clothes and important documents to put in the car.

Maighdeann · 12/04/2020 21:51

Could you phone the police now Op? Let them hear him shouting?

BeamerTown · 12/04/2020 21:51

Sending you and your daughter love and best wishes. Please update us that you’ve got there safely.

whatsleep · 12/04/2020 21:54

If you are concerned that he will realise you are going to leave and start kicking off, would you be better to call the police out to support you in leaving safely with your dd. Please get away quickly and safely Flowers

Mrskeats · 12/04/2020 22:18

Get the police round so you can safely leave,

confusednortherner · 12/04/2020 22:31

If you can then I think I'd call police now so they can come and help you get away safely, that way you don't need to sneak around worrying he will wake up. Good luck

BackseatCookers · 12/04/2020 22:42

My god you poor, poor thing. Thinking of you and hoping you get out safe tomorrow. Don't let him talk you round again - come on this thread if you're feeling tempted and talk things through with those of us who have been there. Sending you so much love Thanks

lovemenomore · 12/04/2020 23:13

Thanks everyone.

I just got up
To go to loo and he came out of his bedroom (I'm in spare) and walked to to bathroom and turned the light off.

He then says "oh look it's up" accuses me of cheating on him (I never go anywhere thanks to g so not sure how possible!) and calls me a fat c*nt.

I am overweight and dieting which he always sabotages saying he likes curvy girls and plus me with wine when I say I don't want it. He knows I'm very paranoid about my weight.

That comment alone has broken me.

OP posts:
Sennetti · 12/04/2020 23:18

I think safety is paramount here. Will he need to go out for alcohol tomorrow

Do you have money?

Starlightstarbright1 · 12/04/2020 23:19

Op . Just bank his comments. He u I s abusive so his comments have no value. You can be free of this tomorrow

HavenDilemma · 13/04/2020 01:01

OP PLEASE call Police now! Don't tell him you're calling them, then when they arrive you can leave safely. Either that, or leave in middle of night.

Are you ok? @lovemenomore

AcrossthePond55 · 13/04/2020 01:51

No, you are not broken! You may be bruised, but you are not broken.

Do your parents know you're coming? Let them know now. Leave as soon as you can. If you're concerned about 'his' car, have them meet you in a carpark and then tell him where it is and post his keys back to him.

I'd happily drive all night to reach my child if they needed me. You can always do the drive back to their house in their car.

Stuckandsadintheupsidedown · 13/04/2020 06:39

How are you this morning?

Sennetti · 13/04/2020 06:43

He’s an alcoholic so taking his car is doing other road users a favour!

Hope you are ok op....I’ve been there, you will be fine

It’s a new start for you

Mamimawr · 13/04/2020 06:46

Is he still asleep? Please put you daughter in the car and leave, you'll both be safer at your parents.

WoeIsMee · 13/04/2020 06:49

Good luck Flowers

Ivalueloyaltyaboveallelse · 13/04/2020 06:52

Stay strong OP and start driving. You got this. Flowers

blablablablablablabla · 13/04/2020 06:57

Good luck. I will be thinking of you and your daughter today. DaffodilDaffodilDaffodilDaffodilDaffodilDaffodilDaffodil

ittooshallpass · 13/04/2020 07:08

Hope you're ok and on your way today OP Thanks

justthecat · 13/04/2020 07:11

Good luck today 💐
