AIBU - Husbands tattoo

So my husband has gone off today to get a cover up tattoo done. He's just sent me a picture of what he's having done and it's a woman's face! Now I appreciate he's limited to what he's having done because it's a cover up of an old tattoo but I feel really annoyed that he's going to have this beautiful woman's face on his arm forever! I asked him how he'd feel if I had a tattoo of a random man on my arm but I don't think he gets why I'm pissed off. What do you think?

Well he's obviously used to getting stupid tattoos or he wouldn't have needed to cover it up in the first place. Depends what it looks like I suppose

I think you should show us a pic of the tattoo.

It's actually not too bad. It's not finished yet but it's been tastefully done and does look good. I'm really not insecure at all. I have a great marriage and totally trust my husband which I think is why I was shocked by my reaction but I've got my head round the fact that it's not another woman and is just a design.

Well, I think it’s weird because who has the face of a random woman tattooed on them?

Err.... huge numbers of tattooed people?

American traditional tattooing is full of tattoos of women - pin ups, gypsy faces, etc.

Then there’s geishas, obviously - a pretty common tattoo.

Trash polka, surrealistic tattoos... women’s faces are a common theme in tattoo design.

I can’t really understand getting wound up about it. And if it’s a cover up, you need to get what will work!

Are you seriously jealous of a woman's face on your dps arm, it's not a real person op, my oh has a geisha girl on his back and she's beautiful
