I posted recently about someone I was dating. This is someone new...onto the next. I’m getting tired of it.

New man, met twice. Had good conversation, kissed on the second date. Had a few flirty messages in between dates, sometimes leading into sex talk (nothing extreme just asking favourite position, that sort of thing and that we fancied each other). Sounds a bit teenage writing it down but felt ok in the moment!

Today I had a text saying ‘I had an incredible dream of us having sex.’

Am I being too sensitive to think that’s not appropriate?! Not sure why I feel strange about it but I am known to overthink things!!!

I think this would be a normal follow on from flirty sexy texts - I'd read it as a round about way of saying 'I'm sexually attracted to you' - saying that, it's fine not to be comfortable with it, but I wouldn't see it as a red flag given your previous texts

ScreamingValenta · 21/03/2019 12:51

If you've already talked about your favourite positions, I would see this comment as a follow on. He's clearly trying to lead up to actual sex. Whether that's appropriate depends on what you want - if you're not ready for sex then don't pursue the line of conversation.

ohdearmissus · 21/03/2019 12:52

I would`ve said that telling you about the dream was a bit sleezy so soon ..But as you have already discussed sex positions....I think that he is just continuing in that vain....and thought that you'd be ok with it...
So you probably are overthinking a bit..
If you don't like it tell him...he's not a mind reader...
Good luck

queenqueenqueen · 21/03/2019 12:53

If you've discussed your favourite sex positions I don't think that is a big deal

Singlenotsingle · 21/03/2019 12:53

Just tell him "in your dreams!" Grin

BlueMerchant · 21/03/2019 12:55

It's more appropriate than telling each other your fav sexual positions!
By comparison him saying he had a dream about you both having sex is quite tame.

foxsbiscuit · 21/03/2019 12:58

Agree with others it's not a big deal considering your other chats.

Frenchmontana · 21/03/2019 13:01

Really you have talked about sex, but him having a sex dream isnt appropriate?

I don't think I would like it very much, would feel a bit under pressure to have sex with him and hopefully fulfil the fantasy!

BorsetshireBlew · 21/03/2019 13:08

That's really not inappropriate given that you have already had a conversation about sex! What's your concern?

ZanyMobster · 21/03/2019 13:11

Not inappropriate given your conversation previously.

amusedbush · 21/03/2019 13:15

I don't think it was inappropriate. It would be giving seriously mixed signals to tell him your favourite position but then scold him for telling you about a sex dream.

IncrediblySadToo · 21/03/2019 13:17

Ummm how exactly is that ‘inappropriate’ after your previous texts?!

ijustdontunderstandher · 21/03/2019 13:20

I think he probably assumed you was okay with it due to you discussing sex before hand, if you feel uncomfortable just be upfront with jinx

ijustdontunderstandher · 21/03/2019 13:20

*him, lord knows how that happened!

Drum2018 · 21/03/2019 13:21

I'd be asking him what position you were in!

GraceMarks · 21/03/2019 13:23

Depends what you want from him, really - are you after a casual thing or a Proper Relationship? If the former, then I don't know why you're being coy about a sex dream when you've already been comparing the relative merits of the reverse cowgirl or whatever. If the latter, then maybe don't go in for sexting until you've actually done it for real...

Stormyday · 21/03/2019 13:24

You told him your favourite sex positions, what did you expect?!

Ohyesiam · 21/03/2019 13:26

I think once positions have been rated, the gates are open.

Pinkginxx · 21/03/2019 13:27

Incredible how many sex dreams these guys have that they have to tell you about. Then describe in detail, then suddenly you’re in text porn land. Boringly predictable...

GreatDuckCookery6211 · 21/03/2019 13:29

sometimes leading into sex talk (nothing extreme just asking favourite position, that sort of thing and that we fancied each other)

I can’t see how after the above you think it’s inappropriate.

AryaStarkWolf · 21/03/2019 13:29

echo everyone else really, how is it inappropriate considering you've discussed your favourite positions already?

Reaa · 21/03/2019 13:29

I would text back 'good things, come to those, who wait Wink'

MadameDD · 21/03/2019 13:29

Normal follow on from your previous sexual texts - maybe a bit forward of him, but I found when I dated in the past some men would leap forward with sex talk quite quickly if given encouragement.
