They 'occasionally' do cocaine?

OP posts:

Jesus some very ill educated people here, yes some people get highly addicted and spend a fortune on it but there is people who just have it when they re out.
However because your questioning it Op, it sounds like your uncomfortable so I wouldn't bother pursuing anything hun x

Jeippinghmip · 06/10/2018 19:02

No

Cwenthryth · 06/10/2018 19:02

Nope. When I was younger it wouldn’t have been an issue, I dabbled myself, and everything was fun and just for now. But as a grown adult dating now, presumably looking for a long term partner? Nope nope nope. Also other posters have made very valid points about supporting an illegal trade that harms people worldwide. People die so that he can enjoy a little high. Nope nope nope. If he gets caught it can seriously affect job prospects, ability to travel etc. I wouldn’t want that for my future family.

Omg just cause people sometimes takes drugs doesn't mean they re bad people....it doesn't change them in the slightest, people are too quick to judge
You sound quite young Megan, but I’m sorry it does change people, it’s addictive. It’s not illegal just to spoil people’s fun! I’d hazard a guess that a lot of us saying nope are not judging from a place of ignorance, rather experience. Look at the bigger picture.

Joysmum · 06/10/2018 19:03

Which is exactly how the addicts started out.

Worth the risk of getting close to a potential addict, or worth tolerating someone supporting a ‘trade’ that causes so much heartache?

Nope!

dirtybadger · 06/10/2018 19:03

No.

I don't really care if someone takes drugs now and again. The context is important. How often, what, who with, why, etc.

But if its enough that it warrants mentioning on a 2nd date im not sure thats occassional. I take coke occasionally could = a couple times a year or might mean most or every weekend. I'm Hmm at anyone whose drug of choice is coke to be honest, it sort of says something about your personality.

I use drugs from time to time, and I would still avoid. Why take on a risk you don't have to? Don't waste your time.

You know it's not delivered by the stork, right?

Djnoun · 06/10/2018 19:05

I would date someone who occasionally took cocaine, provided they meant occasionally. I take drugs occasionally - as in, a few times a year on special occasions.

HollyBollyBooBoo · 06/10/2018 19:05

No and he'll be lying about the frequency. Block and move on.

Cupoteap · 06/10/2018 19:09

Nope

Everyoneiswingingit · 06/10/2018 19:09

No!

ASqueakingInTheShrubbery · 06/10/2018 19:10

Depends how occasionally. Once or twice a year I can deal with. It depends on the context of the conversation as well. If he came up with it out of the blue I would wonder if it's on his mind and therefore more of an issue.

Lauren83 · 06/10/2018 19:11

It wouldn't be a deal breaker for me as it's the norm in my social circle (not saying it's acceptable by the way, just that's it common amongst people I know)

justwantcheesee · 06/10/2018 19:12

Hell no

SisterOfDonFrancisco · 06/10/2018 19:12

no.

MulticolourMophead · 06/10/2018 19:13

I never took drugs, still don't. But I had friends and acquaintances who did, and some became addicted.

For this bloke to mention the coke on the 2nd date strongly suggests it's more than 'occasionally'.

MrsTerryPratchett · 06/10/2018 19:14

Jesus some very ill educated people here, yes some people get highly addicted and spend a fortune on it but there is people who just have it when they re out.

I am willing to bet I have known more people who take coke than you. Misspent youth. And if the OP is 20 and fancy-free, no commitments and so on, possibly fine. After all he's been honest out of the gate. But my experience is that anyone still taking coke in their 30s enough to mention it, is an enormous dick-head. A boring, self-obsessed, addicted, probably sexually feckless dick-head. Sample of lots.

Inexperiencedandperplexed · 06/10/2018 19:14

Depends what age

At 25, I would have had no problem at all with it

Now, at 37 with two children, no I wouldn’t

SoyDora · 06/10/2018 19:15

Jesus some very ill educated people here, yes some people get highly addicted and spend a fortune on it but there is people who just have it when they re out

Regardless of how often they take it, addicted or not, everyone I’ve ever spoken to while they’ve been on cocaine have been tedious, irritating and poor company.

ImNotonLinkedInNo · 06/10/2018 19:15

No. Not because I"m judgemental but it's just the opposite, the actual opposite of how I want to live. Not wanting to escape myself at all.

Fairylea · 06/10/2018 19:18

No. Just no.

I used to hang about with a lot of people that did it when I was younger - although I never ever touched it myself- and they were the most selfish people I’d ever met. Half the time they couldn’t even remember what they’d said or done the night before. No one needs that in their life.

I actually find it really disgusting. I have chronic health conditions and would do anything for a healthy body. Why people insist on putting such shit into theirs makes me angry.

goforkyourself · 06/10/2018 19:18

I went out with an ex coke- head. He got off the coke and moved on to weed. Nasty little fucker, so proud he'd got off coke but couldn't function in the morning until he'd had two joints.

Never worked out if it was the drugs that made him a cunt or if he was a cunt to start with but I dropped him like a hot potato.

Chocolatecoffeeaddict · 06/10/2018 19:18

No. If they had admitted to trying it in the past, then ok. But I would consider someone who does cocaine regularly as irresponsible and not very mature and I wouldn't want that round my children.

Electrascoffee · 06/10/2018 19:19

The problem is that he's a man in his mid 30s with 2 children and this doesn't seem like very responsible behaviour to me.

OP posts:
Chocolatecoffeeaddict · 06/10/2018 19:20

Or occasionally!
