Chocolate ☺️ MrsJ

Currently struggling with a bad back; not sure what's caused it but it's painful.
And the men in this house are all being slovenly, Angry so a few home truths have been told today.

Hope everyone's had a nice day.

Willow2017 · 11/04/2018 18:49

Horse
Get em told😉 sit back and let them wait on you till your back is better. Have you got decent pain killers? When mine was agony only dihydrocodein worked. Don't be fobbed off with cocodamol if you go to gp they are useless.

Not happy with babana loaf. Its very crumbly at sides for some reason. Used a silicone loaf tin and ut sort of balooned out so maybe thats why. Maybe next time i will do less in tin and do some buns too. But it does taste delish 😁

Willow2017 · 11/04/2018 18:50

Banana!!!!

SelenaValentina · 11/04/2018 22:45

Grrr Horse, you tell 'em they have to work for a change.
Mmmm, Willow, baba bana - sounds good either way!
Squirrels, where in Germany? Hope all goes well, anyway.

Definitely a scam, DS says. I've blocked their no. on mobile and house phone - though they did use 'private number' on Monday. Interesting to see what next transpires.

I asked/instructed Alexa to play Enya - had over 2 hours of a few tears but mostly joy Smile.

bookbook · 11/04/2018 22:49

Evening all !
does't matter Chasing in truth - the usual allotment and crochet, along with a trip to the dentist, which , fingers crossed, has sorted out the problem

Willow - crumbly cake would not be a problem here - just add custard!
MrsJ - the washing almost dried :)
Horse - ooh sympathy on the bad back - it makes you not sleep well, so you have pain as well as being tired . Best advice I have is to sit a bit, stand a bit and walk a bit . Take care, and get everyone else doing .
84 - lovely picture
Selena - I do take it easy, really !
Off in the morning to have a hair cut , then depends on the weather what happens next - either gardening or, horrors of horrors, clean out the kitchen cupboards ( oh boy, do they need it doing ......)
Sleep well all

x post Selena - I forgot to say I thought it was a scam and was going to suggest CAB . Oh I heard Enya the other day, first time in ages . I had forgotten how evocative the music is (hugs)

Selena
I like enya i keep meaning to check out her catalogue properly. I remember the chart stuff and i love 'May it be' from Lotr. The words and thier context make me cry cos i am a soppy ol thing😁
Glad it gave you joy as well as a few tears.
Sitting with ds2 watching his box set of the Hobbit he can almost quote it word for word😀 we love quoting it and lotr on a regular basis 😁 and i may be eating banana bread

MrsJonesAndMe · 12/04/2018 07:27

Hello!

Well pay day has arrived Grin It's so dull out there - really missing the sun now!

Sending hugs to Selena and Squirrels Enya does make lovely music. That'd be very good to do yoga/pilates to actually!

Hope the back feels better soon horse You tell them to get on with it!

book I hope the sun is out so you can give the cupboards a miss Wink or do them today and then come do mine?! Grin

Spending some time with the children this morning and then this afternoon I think I need to sort the downstairs out. Not looking too shabby if you look quickly, but need to get duster out for the cobwebs/dust and hoover under the rugs/move the sofa - that sort of thing!

Check in later x

84CharingCrossRoad · 12/04/2018 07:39

This was taken on the way to the cafe for lunch. I upset him by suggesting his PRs go in a rabbit pie!!
The film was brilliant. I eventually got home at 10.30pm last night....

Afternoon all.
Having one of those days!
Took a gazillion bottkes and jars to recycling centre...huge lorry in it and its closed for now so ds2 and i (and the 2 cars behind us full of stuff) had to turn and come home.
Potted up my plants with ds2. Finished my new huge heavy ceramic pot and lifted it into position..dumping it down just close enough to other pot to trap my previously cut 2 fingers😲 was crying like a baby. Omg it was painful.

Ds2 made me lunch...his special fried egg in fried bread which is usually a treat😀 but this time oil wasn't hot enough and bread not really fried so only ate the egg!

Not a bad morning but now foggy and cold so there goes the washing again.
Hopefull thats all my bad luck out the way for today and work will go smoothly.
Good luck with tidying and cleaning Book and Mrsj
84 you rotter, love the bunies.
Horse hope your back is better today. I have a mystery sore foot no idea why🤔
Hope Selena and Squirrels are having good days today.

MrsJonesAndMe · 12/04/2018 15:02

It is freezing!!!! Home now and cleaning done.

Hope we get to see the sun sometime soon!

SelenaValentina · 12/04/2018 15:23

Hi All, Interesting day for most? Hope the aches and pains vanishing as day goes on.

I've just spent 2 hours booking a Christmas Market break in December for friend and me. Although she's comfortably (well) off she can be a bit stingy but I've managed to get a really good deal and she thankfully seems quite happy. I really don't think 2 'mature' ladies should be looking at 2 star accommodation Grin. Anyway with a bit of toggling between EasyJet breaks, TripAdvisor, Hotel.com etc etc it's all sorted and paid for.

And it's cold here too. Need a rest after all that! Scam people quiet so far.

Chasingsquirrels · 12/04/2018 15:33

Sounds like a good day 84, the rabbit pie made me smile. Great picture - looks very rural??

How's the cupboards going book?
I brushed and mopped the kitchen, conservatory and utility after bridge last night, then pulled the fridge freezer out and did behind and under that - no idea what came over me!

A more relaxing day for you cake.

Ouch Willow ouch ouch. Your ds2 sounds lovely.

Mizzling here too, just back from work and having some soup then off to leave car at the garage for MOT & service tomorrow, walk to friends then go for a dog walk with her and she will drop me home.
Doing a v low calorie day, but did have a ice of bread and butter with the soup so maybe just low cal not v low.

Ds1 off to Kempen Selena, flying to dussledorf. Well he will be there now I imagine although he hasn't messaged yet.
Hope you are okay, your Enya time sounds like it was cathartic.

Hope you feel better soon horse and your men pull their socks up.

Chasingsquirrels · 12/04/2018 15:34

Cross posted Selena, sounds good - where are the markets?

84CharingCrossRoad · 12/04/2018 15:51

@Chasingsquirrels it's a small seaside town near Margate. I compare it to Aldeburgh or Southwold which are near me.... Everyone knows Wilf....

bookbook · 12/04/2018 17:37

hello!
well, same here Chasing - don't know what came over me - cupboards done, tops of cupboards ( including cleaning all the 'pretty' stuff that sits on top ), ceiling, walls , doors and window Halo .
Then went out to the shops , after it had poured with rain - the rest of the afternoon constructing a blanket - tea is all prepped up .
Selena - sounds lovely , and I agree , why not have a bit of comfort , thats half the joy!
Willow - ouchy ouch - your poor finger. Hope the pot is beautiful where it is , and doesn't need another move .
84 - looks like a lovely place :)

SelenaValentina · 12/04/2018 18:59

I'm totally impressed with all this housework, book and squirrels.
Very ouch, willow, hope improving.
84, my DSD used to live in Margate. Odd sort of place I thought - though I do live very near that seaside resort with a tower so may be a bit judgmental.

We're going to Berlin, staying near Alexanderplatz, former East bit.

If you would like a cathartic sob and/or to feel uplifted, my Enya 'favourites' seem to be: So I Could Find My Way; If I Could Be Where You Are; Paint the Sky With Stars. YouTube have some lovely uploads with stunning visuals.

The cheek of it, the sun's come out here MrsJ after a thoroughly grey, cold day.

MrsJonesAndMe · 12/04/2018 19:20

Hello all

Sending you all a hug - sounds like everyone can do with one for their own reasons Smile

It's soooo bleeding cold! Bored of it and can't believe that they're talking about a heat wave for next week!

Posting a pile of squares off to WH tomorrow and going shopping for school uniform for the boy that's suddenly growing!

Willow2017 · 12/04/2018 20:44

Evening all.
Gosh busy people today. I am impressed.
Work not bad at all some funny food requests from folks 😁
Fingers still in place but have a dent across them😁
Xmas market sounds lovely Selena your friend not so much😉

I am starving but dont know what i fancy.

Ds2 has huge burn on his arm where oven door closed on it! Looks sore but apart from still a bit red and hot he says its fine. Guilt trip anyone?
Recycling tomorrow and off to get loo handle and other bits and a much needed coffee. Last day of hols noooooo i cant face school mornings again😲😲😲

84CharingCrossRoad · 12/04/2018 20:54

I have my CT scan at the hospital tomorrow for my kidney stone. Then on Saturday its my birthday. My boss has asked me to choose some things off Ebay to a certain value. I've chosen a pair of dungarees and a blue top.
Forgot to tell you all about this morning. Was at my friends and heard her talking to someone... The someone was the binmen three hours early!! My bin was out but my bosses wasn't. I always put it out when I get there. I flew home and got my bike out of the garage just as the binmen arrived. As I jumped on the bike I realised my chain was off. I did my pathetic woman act and all three old them and a screwdriver fixed it. One of the young ones was going to turn it upside on the road and the older one yelled that I would get a muddy bum and to put it on our new tarmaced drive. I then shot to work and put the bin out stopping en route to put one of Mum's knitting ladies bins out on the way!!!

Willow2017 · 12/04/2018 23:32

84 Good luck tomorrow with scan. What a morning! Well done you (and bin men) for getting there in the end 😁

MrsJonesAndMe · 13/04/2018 07:27

Good luck for today 84 Are you doing anything on Saturday/tomorrow? Guessing it may be a bittersweet day for you. (((hugs))) Well done on getting the bin out Grin

Selena the market sounds lovely, but I really can't think about Christmas yet may be the thought of the in laws

I love watching other people Willow What were they asking for? Poor DS2 - he'll learn from it (unless he's like me)

How is your back horse?

Check in with you all later x

Chasingsquirrels · 13/04/2018 09:18

Hope the scan appointment goes okay 84.

Poor ds2 Willow.
I wasn't looking forward to going back to work last Monday after a week off, but you just get in with it don't you.

Boiler service bloke meant to be here at 8.30 so I've been up, showered and dressed with the boiler off - and he's not here yet. Think have left it long enough so going to ring him now.

84CharingCrossRoad · 13/04/2018 09:56

I'm having a few friends round for early evening drinks. Just realised this morning I haven't got a birthday cake. Will make one this afternoon....
