bookbook · 08/04/2018 18:41

Evening all!
A full day here - Allotment all morning,( fighting bird netting as part of the joy Hmm ,) then in the greenhouse., sowing seeds and shuffling things around, listening to Gardeners Question Time . Watched F1 while crocheting , and now sitting down after our meal . :)
84 - wow - thats impressive - but maybe only a small consolation for the evening without A . Hope you get to see some celebs!
Willow - I love lambs when they jump around as if on springs - not too many in fields near the road around here this year though.
MrsJ - nothing quite like being at home , is there . Have you all your littlies tomorrow?
Have a lovely evening everyone

Evening! Had a tidy up day today; washing, sorted out my underwear drawer, threw out loads of old receipts and cooked a roast chicken.

Weather very murky and damp.

Oh - they lost again at footy, but played much better this week!

SelenaValentina · 08/04/2018 19:46

Gosh, 84. Hope all goes well for you.
Oh. Horse, but at least they played better, and always next week. I sorted my underwear drawer recently - and it's still tidy Halo which is surprising for me.
Willow, sounds like a good day, despite the work text.
MrsJ, does it pay the bills?
book, as our gardening guru, how do I deal with a submerged lawn? I've ordered some horticultural sand (apparently better than free-from-the-beach variety) as a start. Do I just throw it in, top soil and lawn seed on top and hope?

This balance ball takes some concentration to stand on it with both feet, never mind one, for longer than a few seconds, so I obviously need it!

Warmer, bit grey day that cleared out around 4 to bright sun, blue sky. Been for (huge Blush) ice cream with DIL. They only sell vanilla - there are always long queues for takeaway and cafe bit always heaving so pretty good stuff! We feel duty bound to do quality control occasionally (as often as we can) Grin.

Willow2017 · 08/04/2018 20:27

Horse thats a shame but getting better is good. Maybe next week.

Book busy as usual.

Selena its your duty to support local businesses😉
It was good fun apart from losing abysmally at crazy golf (one ball went on train tracks and another in the lake😁) and my rubber duck losing our 'race'.
Done a pile of ironing and sorted washing. Got half a load of undies in washer now...was so busy getting through all the kids school stuff and stuff we got out handme downs drawer most of my socks have been missed😁😁 thankfully have a pair for tomorrow 😁 numpty.

MrsJonesAndMe · 08/04/2018 21:36

Thought you were off willow - good luck!

Yes it pays the bills selena till the winning lottery ticket comes through. Currently doing pop corn quality control Blush

Sounds busy book my 2 and 2 paid ones and DD's friend Shock

Bah horse what a shame. Well done on the undie drawer - I chucked out all the old ones, but not been shopping for new, so that means I also need to wash carefully at the moment Willow Grin

Hope you've had a great evening 84 What a treat!

Willow2017 · 08/04/2018 22:10

mrsj thanks, just off this week. Did say I possibly could do extras next week if they were stuck. (To make up lost pay this week😉) I just didnt bank on tomorrow at short notice. They knew somone was on hols next week for weeks!

84CharingCrossRoad · 09/04/2018 07:44

Well I had an amazing time. Met Anne Marie Duff and I told her how fab her Desert Island Discs were..... Then just happened to have a selfie with these two ladies!
I told BK there wasn't enough sign language interpreted performances in the West End and I then stepped back into AB and nearly knocked her over....

Morning all!
fog here - and a load of washing to hang out ....
Horse - ah well, if they are getting better , it is onward and upward!
Willow - I missed that you were working on your week off - pah . I was never, ever , any good at pitch and putt or crazy golf !
Selena - mmm I may be a gardener, but my grass lawn is another matter! Is it always boggy? or is it that the recent rain is just not able to get away? If its always boggy ( if you have a high water table) , then really drainage is the way to go , but if its just a one off, I would leave well alone, as it will recover .
84 - just wow ( and showing total ignorance - I don't know who they are ....), but I have heard of Anne Marie Duff!
MrsJ - hope today goes easily for you.
I'm not talking about my underwear drawer . I find it very, very difficult to chuck things out, hence having to squeeze stuff in , and then try to shut it Grin
Back to routine today - housework this morning, lunch, then a trip to the PO to post off WH stuff, to the library to pick up a coupe of books. Then pick up DGS , make tea and zoom home as I have a committee meeting tonight. Due to our normal venue being shut for redecoration, we are convening in the local pub!
Have a good day all

Morning all.
Sunny here but not exactly warm.
Nearly time to go. 😐Book i was back to work this week but today is extra shift.

Need to do shopping when i get back fridge is nearly empty😀

Nice photo 84 sounds a lovely night all round.

Hope its an easy day mrsj .

Once more unto the breach...

84CharingCrossRoad · 09/04/2018 11:01

@bookbook. It's Beverly Knight with the long hair and Alexandra Burke who did SCD last year......

84CharingCrossRoad · 09/04/2018 11:58

Catherine Tate was presenting last night.... Hmm
Didn't like her much before and like her even less now. Swore like a trooper through the first half until she was told the show was live on the Sponsors Station Magic FM. She also made a joke about the sexual harassment going on in the entertainment industry and I lost count of the amount of times she fluffed her lines!!!

MrsJonesAndMe · 09/04/2018 20:07

I'm now a CT fan either. Been a tough day but more or less done now! Check in later xxxx

Willow2017 · 09/04/2018 20:53

Evening all.
Well work as expected a dire 4 hours! Got set to washing meyal shelves and cut a finger but dudnt realise till i went to loo! Bleeding like crazy, thanks itp, 3 plasters needed on top of each other before it slowed down! Then did it on another finger thankfully tiny cut.

Will not be doing a monday again. Felt pretty grotty to start with and just not in mood for p.a. crap. As i left boss and another staff were talking, sure they thought i had left and stopped immediately i came through. Cannot be bothered with all that.
Doubt i will get any more shifts this week as a staff member seems to have them all as working 60 hrs this week! Wont be stepping in at short notice again methinks.

84 that sounds dire! I like her sometimes but not others. Liked her in Dr Who.

Had kids arguing like crazy over xbox battery packs not being charged. Wanted to bang thier heads together. Ds1 likes to get his point as most important and of course last 😀ds2 is stubborn as a mule and argues back (like me😉)

Didnt go shopping going in morning.

Willow2017 · 09/04/2018 20:54

Metal!!!!! Metal shelves with sticking out screws underneath!!!

SelenaValentina · 09/04/2018 21:08

Wow, 84 - not so good re CT though, sounds as though she's (become arrogant) lost professionalism, perhaps?
Hope work went well, Willow, or better than expected at least.
MrsJ, Cake perhaps or double Gin - or both?

Thanks for the advice, book. Flooding is after prolonged heavy rain. NDN had his drained but he says not totally perfect. Think I'll try the sand etc. and keep wellies handy, for this year anyway. Another neighbour has dug a narrow trench round his lawn and filled with pebbles.

Lovely day but now raining, started off with thick mist which they tried to call dense fog - surely that's when you can't see your hand in front of your nose, not 200 yards? Spinning, hospital shift (bit slow) then home and cat cuddles. Reasonably quiet week planned, which makes a welcome change from workmen. Water meter next Monday, but don't need to be in Smile.

SelenaValentina · 09/04/2018 21:09

Oooh, sorry, cross post willow. Cake, Brew, Wine.

MrsJonesAndMe · 09/04/2018 21:14

right, proper catch up.

Busy day again book You have done so much for WH!

Willow what a shame about both the work atmosphere and the finger(s)

Selena that sounds very very foggy. It has rained here non stop for over 24hrs! Our wedding anniversary today, so there has been chocolate!

Off to crochet as DH is watching Lethal Weapon 2 Hmm
How romantic!

Horsemad · 09/04/2018 21:35

Happy Anniversary MrsJ - how many years?

Sorry your shift wasn't so good Willow, and hope the cut heals quickly, sounds painful.

Was a bit foggy here too this morning Selena, but cleared quickly. Is raining now though Sad

The pub sounds a good place for a meeting book Wink

84, how did you get to go the the Olivier's? Looks very glam!

MrsJonesAndMe · 09/04/2018 21:40

5 Smile

84CharingCrossRoad · 09/04/2018 21:43

@Horsemad a friend gave them to me to cheer me up after A died.
In other news I have agreed to let Wilf go to London on his own on Saturday to Deaf Day!!
He's never been on the underground on his own. Thankfully its three stops on the same line. For a first solo trip its perfect.
One of my dearest friends K is in London coincidentally on the same day and will be on standby though hopefully won't be needed.
Ks Dad and Wilfs Dad were very close friends and many dinner's were ruined by their trips to the pub....

Willow2017 · 09/04/2018 21:53

Happy anniversary mrsj 🎂🍾

Fog here late afternoon and pm.

Horse not big at all but deep, hurt like hell washing it😀

Selena you will glad for a bit of peace and leisurely pace now.

84 Go wilf😀 bet he sails through it while you sit at home worrying.😉

Chasingsquirrels · 09/04/2018 22:22

Happy Anniversary Cake.

I've been a bit absent, v lazy day yesterday- rained all day and I did nothing then went to my parents for tea.
Work today, then been doing some admin and just back from a walk in the drizzle with my friend, took Charlie and he is wet and tired now.

bookbook · 09/04/2018 22:41

Evening all!
Yes fog this morning, raining now here too Horse - was not a bad meeting at all - was a good choice !
84 - thank you - I have listened to Beverley Knight on the radio, and I watch SCD, so feel a bit daft .....
Willow - ouchy - hope it heals quickly .
Selena - yes, sounds like some sort of drainage trench might be a good idea , you could always have a bog garden! :)
MrsJ - Happy Anniversary !
We all need lazy days sometimes Chasing to recharge the batteries
Looks like an indoor day tomorrow , rain, rain and more rain
Sleep well everyone

Morning all

Hopeful that there will be a bit of dry today - we need it! Off to soft play first thing, but hoping we can walk/scoot to the library later.

I really must get the eating back under control! Blueberries and strawberries ready to go for breakfast with some greek yogurt. Going to make an omlette for lunch and fish for tea.

Nothing wrong with hibernating a bit Squirrels

sure Wilf will be fine on the tube! 84

Check in with you all later x
