I know I know Willow but I'd be tempted to tell him that seeing as he's such a big man, that would be his problem to deal with can you see I have zero teen experience???

Hope that you have a quiet shift and weekend.

Glad that Charlie gave you some sleep Squirrel hope he keeps it up.

I got DS to school and came and did 45 minutes of pilates, then the washing, dishwasher, hoovered, made DD's bed, swept the kitchen floor. Then flopped on the sofa with the telly on, mooching on here and crocheting a few rows.

Hope you have a good day looking after DGS today book and that you did something less horrific than soft play Wink

Hope everyone else is OK. Weatherwise, it's still blustery here!

Willow2017 · 04/01/2018 12:21

Cold and wet and miserable here.
Pottering with house work and never ending washing.

Cake you deserve a sit down after all that! I know what you mean about ds1 i wish i could sometimes but it would be futile without ex backing me up.
On a good note he did come down last pm and apologise for behaviour in town. We had chat not about behaviour just general chat about films and gaming which was nice. We had a qùck game and he didnt pull any of the stunts he usually does😀 i am well aware that the whole thing could have been orchastrated to get a turn on xbox but we actually had a nice time just the 2 of us which is rare (and i did mention to him that i am not daft😀) just reminds me i have a lovely boy under that teen crap😀

Hope everyone is having a good day and weather not too bad.

Chasingsquirrels · 04/01/2018 20:24

Have crashed 😣.
Partly cos I'm tired (ds1 talked at me until about 12.30am when I told him I had to go to sleep and Charlie woke me up at 6.10am), partly because I'm so busy at work (didn't leave until 4.40pm today, should have been gone by 2.40pm) and probably partly cos my period is imminent.
I want a hug (from John).

Horsemad · 04/01/2018 20:25

Same, I am shattered. Didn't sleep well last night, busy day at work, DS1 being a pita.

I want to hibernate.

NotAChristmasCakePop · 04/01/2018 20:43

Hugs to you both Squirrel and Horse

Can you get an early night?

Survived the day without any fat coke and or hot chocolate.

Thinking of you all x

Willow2017 · 04/01/2018 20:45

Me too! But not as much as you two as havent done as much.😀 first day back at work shattered.

Work ticking and then 2 hours of cleaning around serving. Time only flies when you dont have enough to do everything as in from 6.oo onwards! Normal busy still drags.

Wasnt there very long when got phone call from ds2. Ds1 throwing up! He has stopped now so fingers crossed.

bookbook · 04/01/2018 21:03

Flowers squirrel, horse, book. Everyone's day exhausting?

Wet first thing, cleared out, rain and wind again at 4. Decided to clear under stairs (to find home for new Christmas decs) ended up sweaty, grubby, muttering. Found games, brief cases, DS's handwriting/maths. Year 4 books, wallpaper - real glory-hole. Luckily DS and partner arrived, loaded car and I zoomed to tip. DS coming Saturday to finish off.

Taken 2 weeks off hospital shifts, and path lab run not my Tuesday Grin. Will start back Monday, am still ambivalent.

In the interests of frugality, the environment, etc, etc, have decided to eat all chocolate and other festive stuff by 12th night. Halo or what?

Horsemad · 04/01/2018 22:06

That's dedication Selena! Grin

Willow2017 · 05/01/2018 01:22

Hope sil is fine after surgery Book

Selena sounds like my c.u.s. too but mine has kitchen stuff too! Needs a tidy up but as i went through it like a dose of salts this year its not bad. But sounds like a good ol clear out was done.

I think you are definately sainted for your work to protect the environment well done you😉

Raining again here and a bit breezy Is it ever going to end?
Night night.

bookbook · 05/01/2018 10:25

Morning all!
Lovely bright morning here.
A good nights sleep, a lovely relaxed breakfast and a shower, so good to go now!
Selena - after putting the decorations up in the loft , we decided we needed to 're-sort' our loft, so we went up on Wednesday afternoon, before heading off to DDs. We need to do it in bits , as there is not enough room to stand up. We are getting there , slowly!
Would love to go to the allotment, but its DH's physio trip today , so not enough time .
Son in law doing fine thank you :) - it was surgery on his elbow to sort out a nerve running to his little and ring finger. It was urgent, as he could have ended up with bad nerve damage. Fingers crossed it seems to have gone fine.
Have a good day everyone

NotAChristmasCakePop · 05/01/2018 11:03

Hello all of you. I can see the sun! and the wind has died down too.

Glad to hear the operation went well and wasn't cancelled book hope DH isn't too grumpy after the physio.

Hope everyone is feeling a bit brighter today - it is Friday which always help my mood. Off to gymnastics after school with DS.

Well done on all the sorting Selena and hope the hospital shifts will help you make your mind up with regards what to do.

What is DS doing Horse?

Check in with you all tonight x

Willow2017 · 05/01/2018 13:47

Hi all wet and miserable again. Rained all night.
Up at 4.30 with stupid hips couldn't get back to sleep so slept it.

Currently cleaning and tidying anything that doesnt move. Still got stuff to put back in attic and roped kids in to help. Anyone got a cattle prod for ds1?😀
Glad op went well Book.
Catch up later.

bookbook · 05/01/2018 19:48

Evening all
DH not too bad actually, thanks Cake - all doing quite well. We stopped on the way home for a nice walk around a little market town and had a lovely coffee and a bit of cake (whoops!) which broke up the journey home nicely, and gave us a bit of fresh air. It is so tiring and boring being in the car for too long.
oh Willow - your poor back, and poor you - maybe you need to think more like the legendary Quentin Crisp " the dust doesn't get any thicker after 7 years" ......
Horse - hope DS is not getting under your skin today.
Selena - mmm - you could help over here if you like - still have christmas cake , a lot of cheese, but no chocolates Grin .
Off to start crochet now, tomorrow morning out helping at my little charity shop, may need to wrap up as it's going to be a bit colder by sounds .....
Have a good evening everyone

NotAChristmasCakePop · 05/01/2018 20:31

Glad he's OK and that does sound like a lovely interlude. Enjoy the crochet.

Our chocs are gone too! I've done my bit Grin

Hope the back/hips ease off Willow

x

Horsemad · 05/01/2018 20:33

What a day at work - everything that could go wrong did! Strangely, although I had tonnes to do, it wasn't stressful; probably because it was beyond my control...!

Anyway, a couple of glasses of wine have helped and now we are watching the football.

DS1 just bimbles around in his own little world Cake, totally infuriates me. Doesn't do his washing, let's it mount up, has no sense of urgency. He has been a bit better today though, I have to admit.

Willow, I hope your back/hips improve, really feel for you.

book, all cheese gone here (I ate most of it Blush) Lots of chocolate left though. Smile

SelenaValentina · 05/01/2018 22:07

Glad he's OK, book

Oh Willow, sounds grim.

Glad the wine has calmed your day, Horse.

Well done cake, Halo for you.

I've decided that my halo is going to slip. What a wimp. Feel queasy from (scrummy) chocolate biscuits so I've, deep breath, chucked them out. Shock. It's bin day tomorrow so no second thoughts!

Glory-hole still not clear (I've found the most grotty wire lampshades, covered in what looks like lace doilies. Heaven knows where they've appeared from - but I know where they're going).

Those stick-on motion activated LED lights are brill, but dread to think what hideous thing they'll show up next.

Willow2017 · 05/01/2018 22:20

Selena oh those lights sound just what i need for my cupboard. Been thinking of something for the back and round the corner bit. Will loom them up. There is a light but at the door so not much use when your back is to it!

Shopping done and out away. Hoover broken where cylinder clips in. Looked out insurance, put hoover in car and half way there realised no insurance with us!. Will take it tues as have dentist and to take xbox in to get fixed. Really annoying though as lost suction.
Stocked up on stuff for kids lunches. Was going to cook chicken thighs for kids for tomorrow but they arent defrosted yet. Have bananas ready to make banana bread too...maybe ds2 can do that tomorrow he likes cooking and baking.

Book sounds a lovely stop off.

Horse glad work didnt stress you out despute trying its hardest. My ds sounds like yours. Nothing else except what he is doibg/wants to do crosses his mind. He is in for a shock when they go back to school 😉

NotAChristmasCakePop · 06/01/2018 06:34

Morning all! That was a short night. DH and I watched QI and I haven't laughed that much for a while. Sandy T is very good.

We're going for a walk at a NT property and cake no doubt I need to collect shopping and making easy pasta for tea.

Horse I hope that you have a restful weekend. I'm guessing with DS1 that you just need to ignore it and he can end up with no pants etc. It's exactly what DD is like, but I'm hoping the next 7-10 years will bring some change.

willow it never ends your side!

Selena well done on sorting stuff. The lampshades sound lovely Wink

Hope you got some rest after your busy week Squirrel

Chasingsquirrels · 06/01/2018 08:37

Worked yesterday but only did 4 hours, then popped to Tesco, played wkth Charlie, dropped ds1 to next village to see girlfriend, soup & toasties wkth ds2 then dropped him and 2 others to judo. Watched some t.v. with them when they were home and then bed.
Charlie had a good night but I'm still a bit tired. Taking him to meet a friend's dog for a walk this morning (he is allowed out from yesterday) then ds1 to archery this afternoon.
Got a WAY meal this evening which should be nice.

Hope your sciatica isn't too bad Willow.
Am Shock at throwing the chocolate biscuits away Selena.
Sound a like a good day yesterday book.
We went to bed before the QI cake, I'll have to find it on catch up as we all like it.
Hope work improves horse x

Horsemad · 06/01/2018 08:41

Cake, you are right but for a slightly obsessed, over-organised person like me that is very frustrating! Grin I need to be more Zen... (won't happen Smile)

And now I need to load the washing machine and get on with some chores. Off to watch DS play football later and he goes back tomorrow.

Horsemad · 06/01/2018 08:43

Thanks chasing, didn't see your post when I was writing mine Smile

Chasingsquirrels · 06/01/2018 15:01

Lovely walk this morning with the boys, Charlie, friend and her son and dogs. Went to feed her cows and horse so Charlie got lots of different experiences on his first proper outing (the boys took him out for a short walk yesterday). He loved it then crashed afterwards.

Just at archery with ds1 just will just be dropping and collecting rather than staying from now on.

Afternoon all
well, what a day. The weather forecast was good, so put a load of washing on early , and out on the line before I went off to my stint at the little shop ,( and put another load in for when I got back at lunch ) It rained, and hailed on and off . Got home and DH hadn't noticed Hmm
Had lunch, and then we went out for a walk, as it was much nicer .
I prepped up tea and then went off for a quiet hour to crotchet.
Horse - my DD2 was always like that, but now she has her own house, she is much better. I used to tear my hair out ....
wow Selena - that took some resolution! But truly worth a halo! The charity shop for the lamps? ( DH does PAT testing for one of the charity shops. The whole gamut of stuff arrives from 'who would get rid of that' to urghh - its broken, not all there, just too lazy to go to the tip ...)
All sounds good Chasing - the outside walks and interest will hopefully get Charlie asleep tonight . Taxi driver for DC's is a pain isn't it? You barely sit down when you have to be up and off again!
Willow - broken hoover now ? Hope it gets sorted . Nothing worse. Hope you have managed some down time for yourself today ( or are you at work?) and the sciatica is easing.
Will search out the repeat of the QI tonight - sounds good!
Have a good evening everyone
