On the day we don't have to rush, DS is awake at 6AM - typical!

Hope that all goes well today Willow - what time is your appointment?

Same here Selena put a bag of clothes out and it rained and rained and rained. Today meant to be clear.

Here it will be school run, go pay for swimming lessons, get the food shop, unpack it all, do some accounts, finish the square etc etc

Catch up with you all later!

Horsemad · 25/01/2018 06:59

Good Luck later Willow.

Back to work for me today and I feel tired; whenever I've had time off I always sleep badly the night before I go back Hmm

Willow2017 · 25/01/2018 07:33

Thanks ladies.
Cake its at 8.30.
Oh another early start when you dont need one thats typical. Life's out to get us😀
Better get ready and haul kids out bed.

Willow2017 · 25/01/2018 09:43

Well thats interesting! I am going to have a haematology appoint as my platelets are less than half what they should be. Its possible I have Immune Thrombocytopenia. (What a mouthful!) Its not common in asults but more common in women. (Of course) need to get bloods checked every week until i get haemo appoint and to watch out for red dots on my skin or bruising and let gp know right away! Oh well at least i know now. Everything else fine and gp wasnt expecting that at all. It could also explain the abdo pain.

Just to add more stress ds2 txt to say lift hadnt turned up and he was on way home when i was on my way home so had to call him to get to end of road and i would take him. Ds1 then said lift had just been on phone to say they couldn't wait for ds2 as they would be late!!!! I went in to school to explain why he was late so i didnt want him getting detention as he had to get bus home and they put a note in for him
I was impressed he went in as he was stressing out all the way there about going in late, he couldn't do it etc i was sure he was going to have a panic attack so i kept jabbering away to keep his attention.

Think it would be better all round if they just got the bus. Funny how she was regularly late before and my ds2 was late for reg as he had to go to furthest end of school on top floor but now they have clamped down and are dishing out detentions she is all concerned about my kids being there so her kid isnt late!

Got appoint for ds1 later. Hopefully get him sorted out.

Hope you have all had a less busy morning.

Horse i am the same when going back to work/ kids to school after hols always worried i will sleep in so dont sleep! Its mad really.

bookbook · 25/01/2018 10:32

Just a quick pop in - wanted to see how the drs went Willow - at least once you know, you can start sorting out what needs doing. Take care Flowers

NotAChristmasCakePop · 25/01/2018 10:50

Oh gosh, that is a mouthful Willow I'm not going to Google, so you'll have to fill us in when you've got a chance to get your head round it. sounds like you have a thorough and on the ball GP.

I've come to post a pic of my square - can't believe I've done it!

Willow2017 · 25/01/2018 10:50

Thanks Book main option if it is that are steroids. So fingers crossed they do the trick. Apparently it can recurr over rest of you life so will have to wait and see.
Enjoy chilling soak up some sun to bring back with you😀

SelenaValentina · 25/01/2018 15:55

Oh Gosh, Willow - but at least you have an explanation. Sounds as though bus will be less stressful option for all concerned?
Cake, that's great, well done you. Sod's law re waking up.
Horse, hope day got better.

Bags collected, soggy or not! It was beautiful first thing - now raining and dreary, so thinking of you book. Glad I got lot of sorting done yesterday in the bright light. Been out and about all morning and then out for lunch, so feet up now, hot chocolate (and orange Daim bar Blush).

Horsemad · 25/01/2018 18:49

Hope you don't have to wait too long until the haematology appt Willow and that they get you sorted ☺️

Cake, great square - and a lovely colour too.

Just about to watch a TV prog about luxury hotels; tonight's is an ice hotel. Would love to visit but DH wouldn't entertain that, he hates the cold!! Grin

NotAChristmasCakePop · 25/01/2018 20:27

Hi all, just getting everyone settled for the evening so I can collapse too!

willow I hope that it all gets actioned quickly and that the steroids work quickly and without any side effects.

Gorgeous sunny day and have tried to be productive - hoovered, made soup and got everyone at the right place at the right time.

Well done with all the clearing a pod sorting selena sounds like you deserve chocolate.

Hope you've survived the day horse and squirrels how are the hens doing?

Have a lovely time book you deserve the rest!

Willow2017 · 25/01/2018 20:49

Evening all. Am knackered😀 busy last half just to be difgicult

Willow2017 · 25/01/2018 21:10

Evening all am shattered😀 busy last half just to make life difficult. The person in charge is going to speak to bosd as the teen we have for dishes etc just isnt fast enough and we need to keep pitching in (and checking stuff is clean). We need another body in the evening if its busy.
Cake I.Thrombo... is lack of platelets. They should be 100 (x 10 to power of 9 or something) Mine were 50.... first time and 47 this week! They dont know exactly why other than its something to do with immune system. So i need something like steroids or other drugs to boost my production of them. You can get injections of something too forget what it was it was in the info she gave me. Cos platelets make the clot happen if you cut yourself they are pretty important 😀 havent started anything yet though till see the haemo peeps.

Cake your square is lovely i also love the colour.

Selena well done on more sorting out. I did a bit in dreaded cupboard under stairs too. Threw out all old baby/toddler cutlery and cups etc. Thought i had a big plastic box spare. Washed it out and realised it was split at bottom (probably why i used it for plates etc in first place doh!) Also halved collection of big sweetie boxes i will never bake enough for all of them at once😁😁
Just a bit at a time but will get there. Whole house is copping it yet again.

How are the hens and hen house in this wind Squirrels?

Wet and dreary at times but windscreen iced over when i left work.

Got an apology txt from 'lift' this pm
Will see what happens tomorrow i cant have ds2 getting stressed out and starting panic attacks again but i dont want to fall out with them either.

Have a restful pm.

NotAChristmasCakePop · 25/01/2018 21:34

Ah ok, my mum takes wafferin (spelling?) after a heart op and has regular tests to see if bloods are at the right level. Hope you rest well too - sounds like an exhausting day X

Thanks for all the square compliments. I've nearly done the 2nd square for Iwant who's husband died in a car crash 😢 Then I'd like to try a different design too. I'm finding it tricky but satisfying!

Night night

bookbook · 25/01/2018 22:17

Just popping in to say hello!
Cake - the square is great - miles better than my first attempt . Glad to hear you are enjoying the crochet :) My mum took warfarin to keep her blood thin after having a heart op too !
Willow - tough times , take care of you remember .
Selena - you must be nearly sorted by now, and then off in Feb I think?
Horse - I've seen the pictures of the ice hotel - I think I am with your DH on that.
It has been very warm today, so went out this morning , and then for a walk late afternoon . Pic from the walk
Sleep well all xx

SelenaValentina · 25/01/2018 23:16

Oh book that's just beautiful. Still lot more sorting, but the majority has been done for decorator then carpet fitter in Feb. Pictures to take down, couple of free standing cupboards to empty then - tra la - store in the newly insulated and boarded eaves until work done.

Well, that's the plan in my head! Grin

Mmmm, Horse, think I agree with DH because I'd persuade myself it must be cold, so would be.

NotAChristmasCakePop · 26/01/2018 06:37

Morning all...another early start. At least it is Friday.

The ice hotel doesn't appeal to me either. book that is lovely.

Sounds like you're doing well Selena

Indeed Willow you'll need to take care of yourself now.

SelenaValentina · 26/01/2018 12:06

Crikey Cake - 6.37, like the middle of the night for me!
Hope things went better this morning lift/bus wise willow.
book, glorious sunny day here, just like you. Possibly a slight difference in temperature? Grin

Hope everyone having good day, I'm off out to new place for lunch. Might sort a bit on return, might not! Blush

NotAChristmasCakePop · 26/01/2018 13:26

6am again Selena Hmm not that 6:37 would have been much better Grin

Hope you had a lovely lunch. Was brighter this morning, but now clouding over.

Have finished my 2nd square so will post it off on Monday - hurrah!

Hope everyone OK x

Willow2017 · 26/01/2018 13:40

Enjoy your lunch Selena.

Morning ok. Next week we are taking our own kids due to prelims. Their kids do them this week and want to do this only for a week but mine do them next week so will be continuing it i think.

Need to talk to ds1 tonight re prelims. I know nothing really and his lack of communication is ridiculous. He is struggling with english. Why do teachers wait till the week before prelims start to tell you this?

Why does every thing have to be on friday? Need to wait till after work and act as everything is fine. Fot list if things they were both supposed to do yestetday but didnt not happy.

Had a nap after kids left as was shattered but wished i hadnt. Horrible dream, everything out of my control just got more ridiculous by the minute and i couldnt seem to so anything right at all. Was awful so felt worse when i woke up. Even my subconscious thinks i am useless!

Kids got haircuts after school and mindee pick up. Will try again for ds1 to get something that actually suits him!
Tried posting this waiting at school but it wouldnt! Everything out to get me today 😀😀

Chasingsquirrels · 26/01/2018 16:22

What a week! So busy at work, I'm doing 20 hrs atm and this week have done 30+. As a result I've got nothing left to give once I've done the essentials for the kids and Charlie.

Just read through but have no brain capacity atm sorry.

Ds2 fainted at school today, seems ok and no idea why.
But it's the weekend so I can relax slightly.
Ds2 birthday tomorrow so he can have his bike - but I haven't got him a card yet, was getting this evening when he went to judo but the fainting has scuppered that.
Then my dad's on Monday so need to get him something tomorrow.

Roll on February...

Hope everything can be sorted for you Willow with the long word "thro...." I can't remember x

SelenaValentina · 26/01/2018 17:44

Willow, what a day! But your subconscious is trying to tell you to chill. Hope you don't think I'm being cheeky, but is there any remote possibility that having this diagnosis could help you benefits wise (DLA, PIP, whatever the latest acronyms are) and therefore work?
squirrels, sounds as though you could do with a breather too!
Wow Cake, you'll be alongside book with the crocheting soon.

Lunch good, place heaving. Came back and had interesting phone call with Gas Board as I told them DH had died and therefore they can forget Home Care. Oh, said the person, I'm sorry that he's passed.

No, I replied, he's died, not passed anywhere that I know of. But I know some people like to use that term, so that's OK, I said.
Oh, she says, I think passed is a nicer word than died. Died sounds so final.

Confused !!! didn't do any sorting after that, just giggled to myself.

Chasingsquirrels · 26/01/2018 18:20

I'm with using "dead / died" as well but a lot of people don't like it.

And yeah, it's about as final as it gets!
You laugh or you cry Hmm

OP posts:
SelenaValentina · 26/01/2018 19:49

I wonder when it became just 'passed' and lost the 'on'. She tried to tell me it was a Yorkshire expression but lost that ground when I told her I was a Yorkshire tyke too. Just made me chuckle!!!

Horsemad · 26/01/2018 20:39

I prefer to say died. Always feels a bit weird when I hear people use passed/passed away.

Willow2017 · 26/01/2018 20:58

Selena i dont think so dont think it will affect me in any significant way. *not cheeky at all btw😀)

"Sounds so final" er....
Good job you can laugh about her mouth running away with her. Bet she realised later how daft she sounded.

Had chinese for tea. Got new eyeliner and dont think my eyes like it😀 stinging and watering like crazy so ordered takeaway as difficult to see what i was doing 😁😁
