So numb, don't believe it. He was my rock.
I have support, but they are not here now, and I know they have lives and are dealing with their own grief. Just want to indulge in some self pity I think...

I am so sorry for your loss. He sounds a lot like my late husband who was such fun and has proved irreplaceable. Also let down by his big heart..

How old was he? Do you have children?

HectorAndKiki · 25/11/2017 22:31

I’m so sorry Darnley ... words seem inadequate.

hi Darnley.

Indulge in all the self-pity that you need to if it goes even some tiny fraction of the way to helping you through an awful time. Flowers

TheFormidableMrsC · 25/11/2017 22:35

OP, there are no words...I just wanted to extend my sincerest condolences for your terrible loss...he sounds utterly marvellous from your description. Unmumsnetty hugs from me Flowers

Zebedee2 · 25/11/2017 22:39

So sorry. Just coming up to 2 years for me. It may not seem like it at the moment, but it does get better eventually

ReanimatedSGB · 25/11/2017 22:41

The first couple of weeks will be awful, but, slowly every day will get a little better. Some way ahead is the place where you can 'weep not that he is dead, smile because he lived' but it will take time to get there.
Lean on everyone around who offers support, be very kind to yourself.
Sending kind thoughts and sympathy.

Shufflebumnessie · 25/11/2017 22:41

I'm so sorry to hear of your heartbreaking loss. It's important that you grieve in the way you need to, not in the way you think others will expect you too. Your husband sounds like a wonderful man Flowers

ApplesTheHare · 25/11/2017 22:42

So very sorry Flowers

AnnaMagdalenaGluck · 25/11/2017 22:42

Flowers I am so sorry.

It isn't self pity, you're in shock and it's absolutely vital you take some time to talk or post or be silent or whatever you need.
I was where you are three years ago yesterday. I don't want to intrude but feel free to pm if it would help.

MollyHuaCha · 25/11/2017 22:43

Hi Darnley, so sorry to hear of your loss. Please take comfort knowing there are a lot of us who care. Keep talking. xx
