Oh dear - I just posted the 1000 thread. Hope we all find this one.

Selena hugs back.
I just miss him, not particular things as such, just the essence of John.
And if I think about that I just ache for him and tears just leak from my eyes.
So, mostly, I don't think about it I just carry on.

we only did a quick go in the loft - but we did start to clear out . We are very good at putting empty boxes up there from stuff we have bought 'just in case' so 6 laptop boxes from long dead laptops, the kettle box from the kettle last but one .... that sort of thing. A trip to the tip tomorrow on the way to pick up DGS :). We are heading for the far corner - it was last sorted about 5 years ago, so anything saved there is up for chucking!
We only really went up there for big lidded plastic boxes that we store up there- we have to move a bookcase tomorrow, so want to box up everything out of the way for work thats being done this week.

Willow2017 · 02/10/2017 11:38

Morning all.

Blustery day here but wind chasing the black clouds on their way thank goodness. Got a shed load of washing.
Pumpkin muffins in oven so grabbing a coffee. Have frozen most of the rest of the puree but left some for a pie 😀

Hope you are all having a good day.

Willow2017 · 02/10/2017 12:11

Yuuuuummmmmmmm Wink

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 02/10/2017 13:08

Hello, I can't imagine pumpkin - feels wrong to me Grin

Quite windy here. Surviving so far with the aid of a trip via Costa for hot choc for me and latte for a friend and knowing I've got a double choc chip muffin to get me through tonight's training.

Book I've never been in our loft! DH and DS go in there to sort it out...

Probably will be tomorrow by the time I catch up with you all. Hope you all got your bits and pieces done. Sleep well x

Chasingsquirrels · 02/10/2017 17:26

Glad book isn't lost in the loft.
Hope Selena got off okay (it was today? Or tomorrow?), have a good holiday.
Waves to Willow, cake & horsemad.

Been pretty low this weekend and today, nothomgnanf everything.
Drove to work wanting to cry and just sat in the car park wondering how I was going to get through the day, obviously I did.
Yr 10 information evening at school oday so just making something to eat then going to that.

OP posts:
Chasingsquirrels · 02/10/2017 17:42

I think "nothomgnanf" should read "nothing and everything".

Train delayed, Plane delayed. Grrr. Just waiting to board - am presuming plane arrived but can't see it !!

Sorry not so bright squirrels, and anyone else. This weather not helping either.

Willow2017 · 02/10/2017 20:40

Evening all
Squirrels hope you are feeling a bit more positive tonight.

Selena what a pain hope thats all the bad stuff out the way and the rest of the hol is fab.

Busy day cleaned my desk top to bottom can see shelves now! Stripped kids beds. Printed up a set of 'Rules' for kids. Specific with consequences and rewards. Let's see how many times I need to remind them ds1 asked to put it up in thier bedroom! Maybe the routine will help us all?

Took ds2 for shopping and got mcd to take home.

Put load of washing out before went on school run and came back wondering where it had gone...
Damm line had broken and it was all in the garden 😠 had to rewash it all. Thought I was doing really well with 3 lots of washing today as winds were drying it quickly.

Horsemad · 02/10/2017 21:50

Hi All,

Sorry you were low over the w/e chasing, I was a bit down at work today but made myself go for a walk when I got home and do feel a bit better for it, so am going to try and do it again tomorrow.
I made DH join me but OMG he walks sooo slow, he ambles along looking at everything, whereas I tend to route march! Grin
I was almost dragging him after me!

When I got home, DS2 had messaged about how to cook a chicken breast, he seemed to have done ok, so I hope he enjoyed his meal.

We were expecting gales yesterday Cake, but they didn't materialise.

book, we have the same loft - DH keeps all boxes 'just in case...' Wink
I would NEVER go in the loft - too many spiders!!

Did you get the washing line sorted Willow? So frustrating when that happens Angry

Selena, I hope your travels are back on schedule, there are always delays when I seem to travel! Have a lovely break.

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 02/10/2017 22:14

Hi all just in from training. Let off early for good behaviour lol

Willow I meant pumpkin pie earlier, never tried it. What a pain with washing line...

Book hope you get some allotment weather, no one would want you to get lost in the jungle. Wink

Selena hope your plane turned up. Not Monarch is it?

Bless him Horse - I remember an inedible stir fry I made as one of my first meals. Exercise really does help. My DH also not up to my pacing standards.

Squirrel, sending you a big squishy hug. Hope you clients and colleagues are extra nice to you.

Willow2017 · 02/10/2017 22:39

I did manage to tie it together but will get a new one anyway as that the 2nd time its broken in a couple of months so think its getting too old!

Been chilling on the sofa watching farming and nature programmes, lazy evening.

'work' tomorrow after have phoned ds1's pastoral teacher so really should go to bed but watching Tattoo Fixers Smile

cake pumpkin pie is lovely, sweet and a bit like an orange custard tart. Try it Grin

Horse ha! so its your fault we had gales today? They came up here instead (and broke my washing line to boot!)

bookbook · 02/10/2017 22:40

Evening all
busy day, just finished and a sit down
Willow - arghh re washing line - the wind was really gusty here, so at least you didn't actually lose the washing, but what a pain.
Selena - thats annoying at the beginning of a holiday, hope it will go more smoothly for the rest of the time.
Horse - walking? - other way round with us -DH is the route marcher, I am the nosey stopping to look at everything :) DS will learn quickly enough - at least he is asking!
Cake - it's still like being let out of school when you are grown up isn't it! :)
Chasing - hand hold and a hug - horrible times for you. Have you thought of getting some help at all - either grief counselling or Doctors . It does sound as if you are a bit near breaking point. Hope the school information evening went well.
I have rushed around a bit like a mad thing today. Only managed to whizz to the allotment to dig up some leeks for tea . It was very windy .We are just sorting out ready for work men tomorrow. The patio doors which have been in for over 30+ years are being taken out tomorrow and replaced. So we have been stripping back the area to leave it clear. Why do I collect books ?
Cake - I never went into the loft until about 5 years ago, when we got proper loft ladders.( Before then it was a ladder above the stairs - frightening) Its still a bit tricky - they seem to put loft holes in the most awkward place possible, so still have to limbo dance under a big wood strut to get in, and its not tall enough to stand up in either . But we have been gradually tidying/sorting/ discarding a bit at a time . Hot, hard work . And quite a lot of both DD's stuff - Sylvanian house and families anyone? ( not allowed to be disposed of....[hmmm] )
Sleep well all , night
Thoughts and Prayers

Willow2017 · 03/10/2017 11:47

Morning
Hooray 'my cafe' is open again.😆

Had to leave work earliearlier than I had planned as they needed office for interviewing. So am sipping my coffee and eating my croissant happy as Larry. Can do some researching at home as cant get on some sites at work which is pretty useless.

Need to get new wash line on way back to car.
Tried to make check up appointments at dentist for us all this morning. First after school appointment was couple of days before Xmas day! Managed to get one in November but had to chance dentist to do it! Hope he is good, not exactly got a lot of faith in my old one tbh but it's usually hard to change these days so fingers crossed.

Sun shining but still breezy and cold in shade.

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 03/10/2017 13:57

Hmm here things have gone really off plan today.

Call at 8:10 to say orthodontist is ill so had to send DD into school for double English and maths - suffice to say she's not happy and rebooked for half term.

Then at 12:30 I had a call to say DS has hurt his arm, so rushed down and collected him. Think just a pulled muscle (also very over tired) Guess it gets the school run out of the way...

Glad work is going well Willow

Good luck book building work always messy regardless of how small the job might seem. DD would love the Sylvanians Wink

Willow2017 · 03/10/2017 14:32

OOOoh my head hurts!

Anyone know anything about dresses? Searched for blooming ages for a Horrockses dress but most of them are cocktail/tea dresses, cant find this long length one anywhere. Some of them are pretty pricey and its driving me mad!

Call from ds2 to say he wants to go out with his mates after school and take his bike..ok have to pile the bike into the car and take him there after he has done his GPs, feed ds1 then I have to take him back to school for 5.30 to go on trip and pick him up at 11.45 tonight! Wish they would just drop them off as they come back, 3 villages are on the way back to school! Dont know if I will have to take ds2 with me or if he will be asleep. He is itching to stay off school tomorrow as he will be 'tired'. All his friends are apparently! Its not later than he usually goes to sleep so sod that. Friends are expecting to be let off next 2 days as no school Friday....think they might be in for a shock! Teens!

Chasingsquirrels · 03/10/2017 16:12

We have to book the next dentist appointment when we have one, and it's still usually slightly more than 6 months. Our dentist had left the practice, so it's a new one next time.

It's hormone-enhanced book, my mood is always worse when it's my period so I'll just be back to my normal-level-sadness is a few days, oh joy!

Hope ds is okay cake, does dd just make her own way home?

Mine get the bus now but need picking up if they have after school activities, so at the moment that's Tues & Fri for ds2 plus Weds if they have a match like tomorrow and monthly Thurs for ds1 for DofE plus ExH collects them Mon when they also do a club.

Hope there and enjoying now Selena.

Afternoon
quick pop in - been to allotment this morning, to stay out of the way.
Done all sorts today - men are still here - still hole in wall - one door in, the other one not yet. It's chilly . ( We have a 60's house with a through lounge , so hole in wall is a bit of a concern ...) Its taking rather longer than anticipated .
Willow - yay for 'your' cafe - have you a link to what you are looking for dress wise- I'm not much use, but will give it a go. Gosh it draining doing all the drops and pick ups ..
Cake - oh no - hope DS is okay. DGS is pretty tired too - he nearly had his head in his tea last night. ( His homework was a bit Shock - draw and colour the solar system - he's not 5 yet! DH was brilliant with him - so patient :) )
Chasing - not quite so bad then, but still horrid, even when you know why .

SelenaValentina · 03/10/2017 18:00

Sounds like a fraught start to the week for most? Hope all settling down a bit, think we deserve it.

Did a bit of retail therapy in Basel but prices there are too high for me! Thought in for another day of messing about when platform changed (big thing there - not like here where it seems a surprise which platform the train arrives at, or doesn't. In Preston anyway!

I'd forgotten how beautiful the Black Forest is. Titisee full of tourists but now they've all gone - till tomorrow. I've had relaxing swim in hotel pool, rest of group arrive around 9.

Willow2017 · 03/10/2017 19:29

Selena that sound lovely wish I was there Wink

Book I dont have a link, the dress is long sleeved, long length and flower pattern, orange flowers with purple, and large mossy green leaves. Dont worry if thats too vague, I have tried every combination of the dress description in 'images' and it doesnt just give you long sleeved dresses! Tried shops, vintage shops etc but if you know a vintage online shop then I would be grateful for the names. Its like looking for a needle in a haystack. And then there is the 'slver plate' the porcelain, none with a pattern name on it... dont think its an early pattern its too 'modern' (and not exactly pretty!) Some things are a lost cause. We could do with silver hall marks books and porcelain books, fat chance.
Hope the hole is filled pdq, nothing ever takes the time its supposed to does it?

Cake Hope ds is feeling better and arm not so sore. Poor thing, a sprain can be damm sore.

Roll on Friday kids are off school for the hols Grin

bookbook · 03/10/2017 19:45

Hole is now filled with doors - It will be a couple of days before its all sorted and finished though .
Willow - check on ebay - I found this one in completed listings
HERE
Check on the pottery though - modern era Danish/Swedish etc from the 50's /60's are worth money ...look at etsy, they sell stuff like that

Willow2017 · 03/10/2017 20:01

Book

thanks for that but the one I have has close fitting sleeves have tried on Ebay too no joy. Loads of lovely dresses (I would never wear Sad) but not the one I want.

Pottery is semi- porcelain and a GB maker but just cant fine the pattern anywhere in the listings but tbh there were 27 pages of about 100 per page on one site sp was cross eyed after about 20 minutes!! (tried etsy too, keep those suggestions coming though) Very grateful for any heads up.

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 03/10/2017 20:07

Hi ladies, just checking in with an update, thanks for all the good wishes.

DS sat and clutched in for about 4 hours yelping ow anytime I/he moved Hmm we did cuddles/calpol and a heat pack and then suddenly when I'd gone in to make tea, he was crawling around!!!

DD goes to the dark side. She is desperate for the the independence, but not quite ready yet! Maybe on the other side of the winter as she approaches yr 7.

Selena that sounds heavenly (not the tourists though, we are in a very touristy place and it really does spoil it Grin)

book I hope that your building work will be done quickly and they clean up after themselves!

Willow it sounds like such an interesting job (and frustrating at times).

Chasing I feel like that too around the time of the month. Sending you some Cake and Wine

bookbook · 03/10/2017 23:13

Cake - that sounds reassuring about DS - hope he just tweaked something
Willow - I'll keep thinking on it ....
Sleep well all

Chasingsquirrels · 04/10/2017 08:36

Hope everyone is well this morning, how is ds now cake?

Just seen the boys off to school - not that I do a lot, they are pretty independent.
Need to get myself showered and off to work now, last day of the week as having tomorrow off - INSET day at school and am taking ds1 and some friends bowling for his birthday, 2 of them are staying over tonight.
