Oh dear - I just posted the 1000 thread. Hope we all find this one.

Selena hugs back.
I just miss him, not particular things as such, just the essence of John.
And if I think about that I just ache for him and tears just leak from my eyes.
So, mostly, I don't think about it I just carry on.

Good that it wasn't the machine horse but still a pain to have to clear up.
Shaking head at job centre form Willow!
Hope you had a nice day book.

A friend rang me this morning and I went over to see her for an hour, and mostly just cried. Am seriously fed up of how I am feeling.
Came home and sorted out the garage - I'd just been putting stuff in there and although there is lots of space we could barely get in and out of the door. All sorted, stuff put up on the rafters, amd other stuff sorted and tidied. Can now get the car in for winter! And some bin bags of rubbish to go out next week.
Then met my mum and one of her friends at the garden centre for afternoon tea and took her some of the garage stuff for her WI Autumn Fair tomorrow.
Got some compost and potted up a camellia I brought a couple of weeks ago, then picked up ds2 & friend from after school club, dropped friend home, quick tea for ds2 then he was picked up for judo. I'm collecting them later and ds1 who went to see his girlfriend after school.

Hello all

Oh no, our dishwasher got blocked last weekend. Fed up of being a grown up really.

book they have a couple of leaves, so while they've been out for the first part of the week, I've brought them back in as it got a bit frosty.

Squirrel I'm sorry you're still struggling. Sending you hugs.

We're planning swimming & shopping tomorrow. Plus the homework for the 2 of them....

Willow2017 · 06/10/2017 21:31

Evening all.

Well I had a mad turn and told ds1 he was making tea tonight. And he did! With bit of instruction and prompting. Only pork loin steaks and croquettes and veg but it was very tasty.😀 wonders never cease.

Weather changed and washing never dried. Dull and damp and raining now.
Lazy pm. Watching tv.

Cake I know that feeling sometimes I just don't want to know stuff.😀

Glad the rest of your day went better Squirrels sounds like the garage needed that clear out! Tea at garden centre is always a nice time but too tempting.

Swimming first thing tomorrow and stuff to take to skip.
Won't know about job till Sunday when the person who deals with that gets back.

Have a nice pm folks.

bookbook · 06/10/2017 21:45

Evening all
good day out, we had just got back through the front door , and DD2 followed us in, so we have had a really good chat and a meal. She has only just gone, so evening has disappeared .

Willow2017 · 06/10/2017 23:07

Book
I should have that printed up and stuck on my kitchen memo board!

We have been at the halloween sweets! Knew it would happen, but I have loads so a few wont go amiss....and I can always buy more.

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 07/10/2017 07:40

OK book we'll plant them into the raised bed tomorrow then Smile

Sounds like you have such a lovely, close family!

Loving that, yes I very much feel like I'm acting at being a responsible adult/mum.

Had a horrid night, DS had his nasal flu spray yesterday.......

LOL Wilow I have stashed mine upstairs, but DD has already asked about them.

Not feeling in the mood for swimming at all but children excited.

Willow2017 · 07/10/2017 11:01

Morning all.

Swimming first thing and after I was spoiled by ds2. He is always starving and decided on a grill /fry up. So I have had fried egg, grilled bacon and sausage and a bit of fried bread and some chestnuts.😀😀 yummy.

Dull and cloudy and cold here. Need to take stuff to skip once breakfast cleared up. Not keen😀

Hope ds is feeling better today Cake enjoy swimming (or just bunk off and have a pj day😉)

bookbook · 07/10/2017 11:10

Morning all
very grey and breezy here . Two loads of washing on line - fingers crossed it all dries.
Was going to the allotment this morning, but we are popping out first to pick up some stuff we ordered last week at the market. So - may get a chance this afternoon, but forecast looking a bit uncertain.
Cake - poor DS , there is no respite for him ( or you ..) Just give your seedlings a bit of slug protection - they do like young juicy brassica leaves !
Willow - a fry up -Envy I love them, but rarely have them - DH suffers too much with them , even if I grill the bacon and poach the eggs ( and where is the joy in that! ) - but chestnuts??? Thats a new one on me !

Have a good day all

Willow2017 · 07/10/2017 11:24

book
We got chestnuts yesterday ( ds2 was ecstatic as usually not to be seen till nearer xmas) as ds2 and I love them so any excuse to have them and he will use it.😀

Chasingsquirrels · 07/10/2017 16:53

Overcast day here.
Scouts not on, but Ds1 had Young Leaders (which I didn't know about until he left the house), and they all got their Scouts Gold Award (he hadn't told me about that either!). A friend went and sent me some pictures which was good.

Ds2 and I went to see John's mum for an hour.

Then took Ds1 to archery this afternoon, hopefully I'll be able to drop and leave in a couple of weeks.

They've just gone to their dad's now.

Hi, it's just taken 1 1/2hrs to get him to sleep so not promising!

We had a good day though.

Thinking of you Squirrels

bookbook · 07/10/2017 22:19

Evening all
had a busy crotchet and strictly night. :)
Cake - I will keep my fingers crossed for you - hope he isn't coming down with something.
I have had a few people saying they are reacting to this years flu jab with feeling poorly too - wonder if its the same thing?
Willow - I love roasted chestnuts - my DM used to roast them on a shovel on the coal fire for us , and we would burn fingers trying to peel them

Chasing - well done on DS's gold award! Hope you are okay this weekend without the boys.
Sleep well all
Thoughts and Prayers

Willow2017 · 07/10/2017 22:40

Arghghg phone doing my head in. This site is either jumping around like a maniac or seizing up! Dont know if its my phone or internet or the site.

Got onto pc now so fingers crossed.

Squirrels Good for him, well done. Hope you can enjoy the weekend without the boys.

Cake hope he sleeps well and is fine tomorrow.

Lazy pm here too watching tv. Got the washing in just before a rain shower, phew! Really 'close' tonight, had to take cardi off, whats going on? It was cold earlier had the fire on! Have decided my sofa is not comfy any more, just cant get a good place to sit to watch tv and not get a sore back/arm! Its a conspiracy!
Must check that lottery ticket (unfortunately not the euro one Sad)

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 08/10/2017 08:12

Hi all

I think it's the nasal spray working and he was a bit coldy before that too... it was an awful night, but looks like a nice enough day, so we'll press on.

Going for a walk, then doing gardening and cooking a roast. but have said homework needs doing before we go out.

Weather has been very odd Willow

Check in with you all later - hope you have a nice relaxing Sunday.

bookbook · 08/10/2017 09:13

Morning all
a bit grey and damp here.
Off to the allotment shortly, then pottering for the rest of the day as no one visiting .
Cake - hope you can get through today - horrible nights make it hard.
Willow - my washing got rained on before I got home yesterday
Have a good day everyone

Chasingsquirrels · 08/10/2017 09:35

Hope he's on the turn cake and you have a better time tonight.

Have a good potter-y day book, that's my favourite kind.

Hope Selena is having a good time and your cold is all cleared up.

Good on you for making ds1 cook the other night Willow.
I'm hoping I can keep mine going with the Wednesday night meals. Ds1 had his friends over last week so he made pizza bases for them and I made mine and ds2's.
Unfortunately Wednesday's have gone from a day with nothing on to busy - ds2 is doing after school rugby and they have training Tues and matches Wed, then ds1 is doing Scouts YL helper at Beavers every week plus DofE meetings at school are monthly on Wed!

Quiet night last night after they went, and horrible weather. I curled up on the sofa with a duvet and watched TV. Then went to bed too late.
Not long awake and seems like a nice day, might do some pottering in the garden, get the washing done, plus some administration I've been putting off and off.

More washing machine woes Sad

It flooded again yesterday but we know why. A small 'emergency' drain hose (designed to kick in if main outlet hose fails) has lost its stopper so the water was coming out from there as well as from the main drain (which isn't blocked - checked by DH Wink).

Machine under warranty, so engineer coming out this week to see why it might have happened.
Stopper is nowhere to be found (quite small and think it may have been mopped/swept up when first flood incident occurred!) so no machine at the moment Shock

Luckily my MIL lives close by so we can borrow hers Grin

Off out for coffee soon as our plans for yesterday were thwarted by misbehaving washing machine!!!

Hope all have a good day Smile

SelenaValentina · 08/10/2017 10:10

I'm sitting here in a wet Black Forest, drinking coffee and waiting for train.

It's odd but bearable being without DH. No-one to giggle with without having to explain. Luckily we often did do our own thing - I'll meet you at whatever - so in some respects that helps.

Group are friendly, interesting way some women instinctively move closer to partners when I say I'm a widow - do they think I'm going to steal their men? However, as I speak German and tour leader doesn't, some have realised I could be useful, which works both ways!

Hope washing machine, all technology woes are easily sorted and everyone has a lovely day.

I'm going on train to source of Danube at Donaueschingen. There are several claims to this, but apparently the Romans said it was there! Smile

Willow2017 · 08/10/2017 12:30

Hi all. Lazy morning watching cooking programmes and ironing.
Got a mountain of washing to sort for putting away and a load in machine (fingers crossed)

Weather ok not raining but not really sunny either. Must be ok as guinea pigs are out mowing the grass😀 eating machines on legs😀

Haven't got any plans either just pottering and housework might rope kids in. Tqd this pm.

cake hope he feels better as day goes on disturbed nights are awful.

Selena how childish of them, just enjoy yourself (and feel a bit superior speaking German 😉)

Squirrels Wed sound manic!

Got a phone call just now to offer me a shift in cafe next Sat to see if I like it. Also the Sunday but it clashes with tqd. I will have to see if I can work around that. Trouble with being a single mum! Ds2 needs to go as it's required if he grades to do x amount of hours in class. Teacher might be able give him a lift but don't want to rely on them all the time. It's never simple is it. Will just have to discuss with teacher and cafe owner. I might can take my break later and come get him and take him it's only 20 mins all round. I am of course worrying about late shifts leaving kids to get on with tea and homework etc. Am I being a woose? Kids are fine on there own just worry about a proper meal and homework. Probably just an old worry wort.

Have a great day folks.

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 08/10/2017 21:35

Hi all

We soldiered on through the day and now all is quiet. All homework finished and bags packed, lunches made, gardening done, a walk done and a roast. I also went for a jog and managed 20 minutes Shock

Willow I think all you can do is to go and chat to the cafe owner. I know that it all falls to you as SM to be there for the boys, but they won't make you work 7 days a week so I'm guessing you could find a routine that works.

Selena that is shocking behaviour from the other women on the trip. Hope that you get home safely without delays.

Squirrel I hope you got your pottering done in the garden - how are the hens doing?

book planted seedlings as advised and put some organic goody two shoes slug stuff around them (looks like gravel) hoping they survive!

I'm off to bed now! Night all x

bookbook · 08/10/2017 22:59

Evening all
Just put the crotchet down :)
Have had a lovely day, allotment this morning, garden pottering this afternoon , bath this evening. Very relaxed .
Chasing - its surprising how often that happens - everything crammed in . Hope you had a nice a day pottering as I did.
Arghh Horse - how infuriating - lucky you have the use of another - it soon builds up otherwise.
Selena - the widow thing is such a cliche , but one up to you with the German ( I did French and German at school - can still get by in French at a push, but the German is beyond me!) . Sounds like a lovely trip .
Willow - fingers crossed the shifts work for you as much as possible , but it is always a trade off isn't it . Hard decisions to be made.
Cake - well earned sleep ahead for you - hopefully uninterrupted for you . I will keep my fingers crossed on the seedlings :) and a jog too .!
Sleep well all

Willow2017 · 08/10/2017 23:23

Evening all.
Cake goodness you have been busy put me to shame!

Book busy as usual too.

Had chat with instructor at tqd and apparently the person thought she was at work say to break me in but she isnt😀 but offered ds2 a lift anytime I am working so that's good. Will muddle through it all somehow. More cooking lessons this week methinks.

Been sitting watching ds2's extended Hobbit 3 instead of watching it on t.v. and had a good greet at the end (as always). Sorry Mr T but I will never forgive you for that ending.

Not sure what we are doing tomorrow. Might pop up to Edinburgh in search of some new clothes I should look a bit smarter for work I suppose. See what's on at the pictures too maybe.

Hope you all have a good night.

Willow2017 · 08/10/2017 23:23

At work Sat not say!

TheWorldIsMyCakePop · 09/10/2017 12:42

Hello

book the night was by no means uninterrupted but not as awful as the one before. Seedlings are still standing this morning Smile Sounds like a lovely day indeed.

Willow I'm sure it will all work out.

We've made it through the first half of the day quite successfully.

Check in with you all later. x

Willow2017 · 09/10/2017 16:18

Afternoon all.
Been in town with ds2 for shopping. Was told in cafe that they are filming new 'Robert the Bruce' film down on old bridge and keyside so went off for a nosey. Keyside all done up like a market with animal pens, food stalls etc really interesting but sadly not filming so no Chris Pine😐

Slept in as didn't sleep properly kept waking up for sone reason so no Edinburgh. Might go tomorrow after volunteer stint.
