Christian wife leaving my husband

WonderRose · 16/09/2017 11:48

I'm a Christian woman about to leave my husband and I was looking for some advice on how to carry the guilt. We have 2 children together and have been together 3 years. He's not a very nice man. I was speaking people before but I can't remember their usernames so can't get in touch with them

What did those messages that got deleted say?

The poster had muddled your dates up and insinuated you were lying or misleading posters.

Ignore it. MNHQ jumped on it pretty quick.

How are things ?

WonderRose · 15/10/2017 19:03

She's commented on this a few times calling me a liar. Just go away if you don't believe me. I'm ok just tired and feeling down. But had a good day with the kids, we got money today so went out with my cousin and got new clothes for winter.

I'm pleased you've got some money now.

It must be hard still but you've done the hardest part. Your cousin is a star.

Flammingstar · 15/10/2017 19:33

Ignore the stupid, ignorant idiot @Wonder.
There are hundreds of people here who DO believe you and are behind you.
This person is not important, does not matter and their comments neither welcome nor relevant.
Thank goodness MN had the sense to remove it.

Gemini69 · 15/10/2017 19:56

I'm glad you're doing better today WonderRose.. shopping for winter things will distract you too.. I hope all goes well tonight Flowers

bullyingadvice2017 · 15/10/2017 20:00

I believe you! And the police and your cousin and loads more on here!

Ignore the idiots!

Glad you had a peaceful relatively normal day. It's good that you are near the top of the list for a property.
One day at a time, onwards and upwards with your life! You have many many positives to work towards. And even if there's negative things, and there will be bad days, it's always going to be more positive than going home to that animal!

keepondreaming · 15/10/2017 20:31

Glad things are starting to look more positive.

DPotter · 15/10/2017 22:17

I believe you.

seeds1962 · 15/10/2017 23:51

I believe you and I'm so glad you are out now xxx

WellThisIsShit · 16/10/2017 02:52

Please be careful as he will know where you are now, due to your un-Christian parents.

And yes, ignore the troll hunter who tried to be clever and 'unmask the truth', but only succeeded in looking stupid and overly invested in denying any experiences beyond their own little life. Yawn.

Wonder, I have been following your posts from the beginning and I think you are so brave. As a Christian who works in pastoral care I can tell you that no-one who is a true Christian would say that you were not right to leave.
We recently at our church in Sydney covered DV for a sermon, where they talked about how much it happens within churches. If you would be happy for me to PM you, I can send you the link to the sermon podcast. I hope it will be reassuring for you.
You are so brave. Keep on keeping on x

Mary1935 · 16/10/2017 07:41

That's inspiring and hopeful ladycassandra. In all the churches I've attended in the uk I've never heard it mentioned once. Lots of men want to control there wives under the guise of Christianity. It seems to attract them. My husband abused me & he was a born again Christian.
Wonder rose you are doing so well but it may not feel like it at times.💐🌺💐

LadyCassandra · 16/10/2017 10:22

Mary1935 I go to a great Anglican Church. The diocese recently commissioned a task force to look into the issues and also to investigate past complaints that weren't followed. They also gave an official apology to victims who were failed by the church. It was however in response to a journalist investigating the issues, but it can still only be a good thing.
Wonder, the sermon was actually our minister talking to the head of the task force, so it was really interesting but also sad to hear what so many women go through. The one fact that stood out for me is that the figure of 1 in 3 women affected by domestic abuse nationally is no different inside the church to outside.

crabb · 16/10/2017 10:31

Doesn’t sound like a typical Sydney Anglican Church LadyC 😊

LadyCassandra · 16/10/2017 10:42

Crab don't get me started! 😉

picklemepopcorn · 16/10/2017 11:38

I'm afraid your parent's letter was abusive, wonder. Threatening you with God withholding his forgiveness if you don't tow the line is spiritual abuse.

My church would never expect you to stay with this man. I hope we would spot his like among us before he got to hurt anyone, too.

springydaffs · 16/10/2017 11:46

Ah they're not easy to spot, pickle. To everyone else they're lovely, ordinary, sweet, sincere men.

picklemepopcorn · 16/10/2017 13:51

I'll never know for sure, of course. My hackles rise around certain men though. Control, objectification, disrespect are visible if you aren't blinded by romance. I certainly see it too much!

springydaffs · 16/10/2017 15:04

Nope, the real abusers are very hard to spot. They don't do anything obvious like treat women badly in public. No, they are the nicest men, so kind and caring. You cannot sees the seams.

bullyingadvice2017 · 17/10/2017 09:16

I hope today is positive! How are you feeling?

Flammingstar · 18/10/2017 17:16

Hey @wonder, hope that you are ok and coping with everything? Hopefully things are more peaceful for the time being and you are enjoying quality time with the children.

colouringinagain · 18/10/2017 20:13

Hi OP just wanted to say I'm thinking of you and hope you're OK.

Mary1935 · 19/10/2017 16:03

How are you WonderRose? Thinking about you.
