Mystery earrings

Not sure where else to get advice for this.

DP works away sometimes, we've not had trust issues before and I'm usually happy to wave him off. He was in a hotel for two night midweek this week and nothing out of the ordinary behaviour wise prior to that.

Was going through some of his packing to tidy up/sort laundry - not snooping I have to add, I've never felt he might be doing anything behind my back, but in his wash bag I found a pair of earrings that aren't mine. They are not a gift because I don't have pierced ears.

Since his return he's been affectionate and normal if a bit glued to his phone, but he does a lot of work on it so again not out of the ordinary.

I feel really confused, I've never had a reason not to trust him but I can't shake the sight of those earrings. Returned them to bag but took a pic on my phone. What do I do?

You're well rid of both of them then.

I'm sure you're not Anne of Cleeves, she was a bit whiffy apparently.

HmmOkay · 25/06/2017 14:19

I like the Tudor Twattery. I am a bit ignorant on that front so if anyone has more info then I am all ears.

Must have been awful for Anne Boleyn getting pregnant and wondering if this time a healthy boy would be born. And probably all the while knowing her fate if she didn't.

picketfences · 25/06/2017 14:20

Sounds like he didn't tell mummy the full story.

What a dick.

Didiusfalco · 25/06/2017 14:22

Sounds like you've saved yourself from a nightmare mil too. You're doing fantastically op. Get the practical stuff dealt with and then block all contact, and on to better things.

OlennasWimple · 25/06/2017 14:22

He's probably asked if he can come and stay at home for a bit

TheStoic · 25/06/2017 14:23

Oh, and 'don't think you can keep him out of his own house' when I said we rent jointly and it's as much my flat as his she went quiet

So she'll probably tell him he's got as much right to be there as you?

MarilynMonsoon · 25/06/2017 14:25

She seemed to think he paid all the rent

Good move to give notice and free yourself up.

RandomMess · 25/06/2017 14:26

Can't believe he's gone running to Mummy to try and sort his problems out for him!

HmmOkay · 25/06/2017 14:26

They were all a bit whiffy back in the day weren't they?

I'll bet that Henry VIII was a stranger to Lynx. And he was no oil painting, was he?

Anne of Cleves had a lucky escape there.

I wonder what advice she'd have got from Tudor Mumsnet.

Doth leaveth the fucker. Something like that.

crazykitten20 · 25/06/2017 14:28

How are you feeling inside @MarilynMonsoon ? Been thinking of you and sending you angels ( just a thing I do)

mermaidsandunicorns · 25/06/2017 14:29

Tudor mumsnet would be amazing!!

AIBU to behead my wife

PoorYorick · 25/06/2017 14:29

berated me for being selfish and not giving him the freedom to have children

I guess the rotten apple didn't fall far from the diseased tree. What is this silly mare on about? You didn't hold a gun to his head and force him into a relationship and you were honest with him about your fertility issues. He's a grown man and made a choice. Why does she think he doesn't have any agency or any power over the informed choices he makes?

PoorYorick · 25/06/2017 14:31

Also OP, don't offer to send screenshots of the abusive texts to Mother Gothel. Just send them.

Anasnake · 25/06/2017 14:33

Definitely send her the abusive texts. Wish her well for the future - then block her.

MarilynMonsoon · 25/06/2017 14:35

His mate says he's several whiskeys down and is currently shouting at Lewis Hamilton so it appears I'm out of the woods for today :)

Oh The Mammy. Don't they always have a flawed son's back.

I thought the Anne Boleynski comment was funny. If she had been scottish Anne McBoleyn would have been funny too.

Or Anne Boleyñez if she were Spanish.. it was funny. Jmo

SchnitzelVonKrumm · 25/06/2017 14:43

He's living the dream, then.

Gemini69 · 25/06/2017 14:46

interestingly.... he's not at the OW's place... now that's very curious... NOT running into each others arms then.... like LALA LAND

PoorYorick · 25/06/2017 14:49

I thought Anne Boleynski was funny too. And I have Russian ancestry (actually in my surname too, though it's a bit hidden). So there.

Earlybird · 25/06/2017 14:50

From what you've posted, it doesn't sound as if he's even seen his bit on the side since he left your flat. Seems odd if she's so gorgeous, fascinating, etc., Maybe she doesn't want him now that everything is out in the open?

Should be an interesting week upcoming at their workplace.....

MyheartbelongstoG · 25/06/2017 14:53

Op you sound so strong. Try as hard as you can not to respond to his stupid texts.

I went digging for evidence when I suspected ex husband of cheating and I found a vagina. Ut looked like the end of an elephant's trunk.

Weeks later after we both left court where he'd done something underhand I came home grabbed the bag, drove to his work, walked into the office and in front of his all his colleagues lobbed ut across the room at him where he caught it with both hands. I never said a word, just turned and walked out.

His boss followed me out and I just turned to him and said don't fuckin bother lying on his payslips either or I'll be back.

Rang my mother afterwards and we howled laughing on the phone.

Some posts need reading twice!

ProphetOfDoom · 25/06/2017 15:01

The Russian element of my family stick -ski & -ov & pun loads on English words for comic effect; they'd thoroughly approve of Anne Boleynski Grin

wonderingsoul · 25/06/2017 15:08

Op your amazing.

You are well rid of him and hes family.

Think of it as a fresh start, have you seen any flats or houses you like?
