The Brave Babes Battle Bus - Sweet, Summer Sobriety!

Hey, I'm Mouse Smile

Welcome to the Battle Bus! We're a group of travelling drinkers of varying levels, those who are teetotal, and those who have tried so many times to stop, those are 'controlled' drinkers, but we NEVER give up and keep coming back for the support we share, and trying to get some kind of control over the Wicked Wine Bitch Witch!

It's not easy, boy, it's so not easy to stop or cut down some days. There are days when even the Bravest Babes fall into the Sidecar. And do you know what? That's okay. Smile

There is NO judgey pants worn on this Bus and you don't have to be anyone other than YOU to join us Smile

So, come and grab a seat, some Opal fruits, (it'll make sense eventually!)) and meet the rest of the Babes. Remember, you're not on your own, ever with us, you'll always have a Babe you can relate to.

Here's the last thread for you to catch up on if you like Smile

And here's where the entire journey began. Smile

Day nine starting for me so just checking in.

Really thought I was going to cave last night but the thought of waking up at 4 and feeling so anxious kept me going.

Mum sounds like you have a lot going on Flowers everyone here is very supportive- sending you some strength for today Brew Cake I did find the first few days it really helped to have some lovely food I wouldn't usually have (calories- eye roll) and go to bed early.

dementedma · 09/09/2017 09:07

Just checking in. First week in new job was so exhausting I just crashed and burned every night. Welcome to all new Babes. Will read back later.

theansweris42 · 09/09/2017 09:46

Hello to all
Still here, still supporting you all.
I'm doing 3 or 4 at days again and making effort to drink less when I do and lots water.
Happy Saturday babes

MintToBee · 09/09/2017 11:10

Waves and runs past on way to work.
Will catch up later with you gorgeous lot.

UnwiseOldElf · 09/09/2017 11:16

mummoselle I also have a DH with health issues, plus 2 children and totally get that feeling of "needing" a drink (or several) to take the edge off and then feeling crap the next day and beating yourself up. (I realise it's harder for you as one of yours has SEN but I raise you an elderly mother who has always been "challenging" Hmm and now is positively infuriating!)

One step at a time. It's a total cliche I know but it's so true. Posting on here for the first time and writing down the problem in black and white is a brave step. Well done. You will find LOADS of supportive people on here. They're brilliant.

Elf your post is totally inspirational as others have said. If you can go from the level of units you were consuming to extreme moderation it can be done! I hesitate yet to say "I can do it too".

Luck many others here I can find multiple reasons why I need a drink but I'd really like to get back to that happy place where one drink will suffice and when it is not daily or unstoppable.

Still on holiday and still sticking with moderation here. Home is the real challenge so I'm thinking of some new rules when I get home which I will post on this (or the new) thread once I've formulated something for myself to stick to!

Will also do SoberforOctober starting Mon 2nd Oct due to a family occasion on the Sunday (I don't usually let myself down in public it's my home drinking which is my real issue).

venusandmars · 09/09/2017 16:48

Loving the phrase 'extreme moderation' well done elf you're a star, and all the more so because it hasn't been easy.

venusandmars · 09/09/2017 16:50

Hi all, just wanted to check in here. I read this thread every so often and got a lot of support here a year ago when I hit my rock bottom.

Almost a year sober. The difference a year of not drinking has made to my life has been amazing.

I don't post here but I'm times where I've struggled about life stuff and how to cope with it, reading things from posters here has really helped so thanks Flowers

buddhasbelly · 09/09/2017 21:55

I'm = in - there I filled up another post with that correction!
