Oh dear. This is sad news.

Pagerty · 08/04/2017 22:07

I am really sorry that you are hurting and I'm sorry that your children may be confused and upset too. Can you say what grounds this decision was based on? I am pleased that you have reached out on here though, there are so many good listeners and it may be easier for you to talk to strangers while you get your self together and consider what you need to do to be able to get them back.

CrochetBelle · 08/04/2017 22:07

Do you want to talk about why they were taken?

Blinkyblink · 08/04/2017 22:09

Love and adoration is just one part of being a good parent.

It's about being supportive, disciplining them, making sure they go to school and doctor appointments, ensuring they are clean, have clean clothes and bedding, are well fed, are monitored... quite honestly the list is almost endless.

FlissMumsnet · 08/04/2017 22:10

We're so sorry to hear you're having such a tough time at the moment. OP. We know Mumsnet is a brilliant source of advice and support but please do seek help in real life too.

All the best and we hope things look brighter for you soon Flowers

RebootYourEngine · 08/04/2017 22:11

There must be reasons why. Social services don't really just appear out of nowhere and take children from their parents.

MycatsaPirate · 08/04/2017 22:12

Is this a permanent removal? Is there a chance you could get them back if you take steps to remedy whatever skills you are lacking?

I feel for you, I couldn't bear being parted from my children.

Cheeseandwineisprettyfine · 08/04/2017 22:12

Op, will you give more info, some of us here work in social care and could advise you on what is going on for you...

Have your children been removed into foster care or within your family?

Blinkyblink · 08/04/2017 22:13

Social services do not decide to take children from their parents. It's a court decision.

newdaylight · 08/04/2017 22:15

It must be a horrific time, hope you can get your mind focused on the steps you need to take to make sure they're safe in your care and can come home, if that's possible.

user1489677782 · 08/04/2017 22:17

Unfortunately I have seen some really weird working of Social Services and I think that the OP needs some serious help as in Lawyers and perhaps even newspapers. The circumstances surrounding the actions of Social Works has to be accountable and if there is cause complaint to the Care Commision
Sorry this has happened to you.

PyongyangKipperbang · 08/04/2017 22:18

I think we all know the ins and outs of children being taken into care, and the OP does too. But she is hurting so lets just be supportive yes? I

It may well be that a lack of support contributed to her children being taken and she may well find it here, as so many others have done when they are struggling.

Floggingmolly · 08/04/2017 22:18

Newspapers?? Op hasn't even returned to say what happened!

Persianprincess69 · 08/04/2017 22:20

OP are you ok?

Instasista · 08/04/2017 22:20

What an awful thing OP. I hope you have support

xStefx · 08/04/2017 22:23

I'm so sorry your hurting op, I hope you have support. Xx

Without more information, it's hard to help.

user1491683745 · 08/04/2017 22:24

sorry my internet was playing up so i had to reset my router can you please tell me how on earth it was a court decision when i have had absolutely no warnings about it at all my eldest had been using childline for a few weeks and apparently his last call made them fear for his safety and the police were there to collect him from his last location and then people came to my house and how the fuck is that any type of warning or any court decision

WTAF? You have no idea why these children were removed, and yet here you are suggesting the op goes to the media? What to cause more pain?

Sick.

user1489677782 · 08/04/2017 22:26

Floggingmolly - This was a article in a regional paper. One mum complained about her treatment by Social Services and then other parents got in touch and it turned out to be a whole raft of similar cases. There are things that are wrong on all sides.

LovingLola · 08/04/2017 22:26

Why was your son calling Childline though? How old is he?

imNew1985 · 08/04/2017 22:27

Very sad OP but they must have provided you with some information? You must have a number you can call?

Why was your eldest calling ChildLine?

Cheeseandwineisprettyfine · 08/04/2017 22:27

Op- were you involved with social care before this? When did this happen? How old is your son?

You can get your children back from this.

Mrsknackered · 08/04/2017 22:27

Could your eldest have been telling them things that you were unaware of? I don't want to make assumptions at all but perhaps something is going on you are unaware of.
Do you have a partner with you? What have social services said to you so far and when did this happen?
