One word to describe your marriage...?

Just for fun/interest.

My dh asked me for one word to describe our marriage (inspired by a question on Broadchurch) and I went for 'challenging' - not meant in a negative way but from this being my third marriage (divorce, widowed), his second, we both have children/adult children from previous marriages, work, money and all that. And sometimes I find it challenging because he is so nice to me and I am not used to that! We have a great life with the normal ups and downs.

I asked him and he said 'A Work In Progress', which is four words! However forgiving him for that, I do get where he is coming from with having to put effort into our relationship and not just coasting. We have had some interesting times over our five years together and some changes to deal with but really do try and bring the focus back to just him and me when we can.

Your marriage/relationship in one word?

What an interesting idea for a thread Smile

I would choose "kind" (as happy is a bit of a cliché).

I have texted DH to ask what word he would choose. Which will also be interesting at least to me Grin

Compromise.

That's not a bad thing. We both do it. It's worked for 30 years nigh on.

Comfortable. Sounds boring, but if you think about how blissful it is to slide into a comfy bed, or slip your sore feet into comfortable slippers...

Comfortable is a lovely word and solid is too.

I have been in a 'lonely' and a 'sexless' and they were not good times at all.

I like 'compromise' - I am learning to do that more!

A couple of 'overs' - is that over and in the process of divorce or over but still together? Why?

Secure is a great word.
