ma and mrs, how would it work for you to buy a nice, expensive bottle of wine (or two) in the week and keep it for the weekend? Or just drink it, but when it's gone it's gone and you're not buying more til next week? That works well for me, it may do for you? Agree with faire's advice Smile

Elba hope you'r ok, are you working again tonight?

Had interview at Tesco today and went well I think, so hoping I get it, at least it'd be some cash even if it is temporary. Am like a cat on a hot roof (fidgety) about the children's home job, will ring up on Thursday if I've not heard.

madein1995 · 05/11/2016 17:32

obrigada I know what you mean re the boredom, best thing is to keep yourself busy with non alcohol things. Do you have a dog/small child you can take for a walk? Any cleaning that needs doing? Any relatives that need visiting? Could you go running or swimming or another exercise class? Anything really to distract you?

A nice song to get people in the christmas mood Smile

obrigada · 05/11/2016 21:25

Made it to bedtime so another day done and dusted. Thanks for all the suggestions made, took the dog for a walk and made a late dinner.

Hope all babes are having a peaceful Saturday night xx

madein1995 · 05/11/2016 21:32

obrigada you go girl! Well done!

Elba84 · 06/11/2016 04:26

At work and the inevitable hangover has worn off finally- just left with the heartburn and period pain. Forgot how totally shit nightshift drinking makes you feel. I've always justified it to myself as lots of people do it, or take night nurse or sedating antihistamines etc. But what they don't do is drink an entire bottle of probably very expensive Malbec on their own at 9am on a Saturday Hmm

Out for lunch and a walk with a friend tomorrow so will have about two hours to sleep so no time for drinking, then hopefully will be tired enough to not think about it by bedtime. At least that's the plan.

Anyway hope everyone's ok and having a good weekend- sorry not to name check, hoping no one wants me for half an hour or so so I can attempt a little power nap! X

Hi all

Hope you're having good weekends. I've been decluttering.
Went out with H on Friday. We talked a little. So many issues but its going to be easier I think to try and address them not living together. Maybe Smile

Part of decluttering is sorting photos, so looking the DC when they were tiny and of me and ex-p when we were young and happy .
So along with the wine last night it ended up in a big cry.

I definitely want 4 nights AF this week.

tismesober · 06/11/2016 09:29

Checking in x

obrigada · 06/11/2016 09:48

Morning babes, this time last week I was very hungover, this morning I am tired and hungry so off to make myself a big brekkie and read for a while before I tackle the day Smile

I've got the Tesco job! [does a little jig on the bus!] Grin So happy. It's only 11 hours but lots of chance of overtime and it's something and I DON'T HAVE TO GO BACK TO THAT BLOODY JOBCENTRE! Missed the call but just rang the woman back, she's on her lunch now and then a meeting but will ring me later to talk everything through. I still really want the children home job and will jack in Tesco if I get it (will ring head office on Thursday to enquire), but at least I have something and I know I can make a fair bit of money if I volunteer for overtime a lot. I've not rung the Universal Credit centre yet, but will do later after the second phone call, or failing that, tomorrow morning. I know it's on Tesco and not a full time job (but tbh I could pretty much increase my hours when I fancied it especially the middle/end of this month and leading up to Christmas) but I'm still excited.

On a course tomorrow morning in Merthyr, so went on a practice run this morning to make sure we knew the way. Didn't go very well - the road wasn't signposted - so we ended up on an army firing range/armourned cars site thingy, then a terraced street, then a post office before finally finding venue Grin mam ended up threatening to chuck dad out and at one point the car was full of screeching, shouting and the dog howling so as not to be undone Grin

Congrats on the job Made Smile Flowers

tismesober · 07/11/2016 16:57

Well done made FlowersFlowers

laladidah · 07/11/2016 17:18

made - congratulations!!! Flowers very pleased for you! And your recount of the car journey just made me laugh out loud!

WRY where have you been??? So nice to see you again! Welcome back. Poor little terrorist, both of you have been through the wringer! Giggling at the thought of arse grenades, although I have been dealing with my fair share over here, lala pup was indeed spayed, what with that, and a rather unfortunate hair cut, she has made it her business to show how upset she is by pooing all over the place, the little bugger. Oh and lying on the sofa with her head on her paws, only lifting it to sigh mournfully for a bit and glower at me from beneath her cone of shame... fingers crossed for more recovery for your terrorist. And SUPER WELL DONE FOR STAYING AF! You are an inspiration.

elba how are you feeling?

Hello everyone else, hope your Mondays weren't too dreadful...

Elba84 · 07/11/2016 18:03

made congratulations on the job!! Will keep fingers crossed for the other one too, but yay for no more job centre visits!

wry your back! We've missed you! Sorry things are still tough at work though, but massive well done for staying af through it all.

lala how's everything going with mr l now? Any pics of pup with her cone of shame and unfortunate hair cut?

Had a good couple of days- lunch and seaside walk with a friend yesterday, then a record 12 hour post nights sleep. Today have booked a holiday (not until June) and managed an 8 mile run Shock It was very slow but very pleased with myself nonetheless. Alcohol on my mind this evening though. Going for a bath now to at least delay the inevitable...

dementedma · 07/11/2016 18:51

Well done made

madein1995 · 07/11/2016 20:17

Thanks everyone Smile I really appreciate it. Hope everyone's evening is going ok Smile

dementedma · 07/11/2016 20:32

I am AF tonight as I have to go to the airport later to pick up dd1. And it's so easy...because the decision has been made for me. It's as if someone higher has told me that I can't and I am relieved of the daily struggle of trying to make the decision myself. But tomorrow....it will be back to square one.

laladidah · 07/11/2016 20:52

Here you go elba. We are snuggled on the sofa as it is bloody cold. mr l has had a hard day, currently in the shower.

madein1995 · 07/11/2016 21:54

ma I know what you mean, when you have to do something you can't drink for, it seems easier to resist. You are really strong, would keeping really busy in the evenings help you?

dementedma · 07/11/2016 23:22

It would made. Maybe I should work a night shift!

theansweris42 · 08/11/2016 09:01

Well done made! Good for you Smile

obrigada · 08/11/2016 09:14

Morning babes, caved last night and had some wine, didn't go overboard but still feel a bit ropey this morning. Not going to beat myself up, didn't drink 8 out of the last 9 days Smile
