We don't half get through these at speed!

The Rules:

  1. The first rule about the dating thread is you don't talk about it with people you're dating.
  2. Develop a thick skin.
  3. Do not invest emotionally too soon.
  4. It's all BS until it actually happens.
  5. Trust your gut instinct.
  6. People vanishing, lying & being generally weird is not your fault.
  7. You are the prize-they should be trying to impress you.
  8. If it's not fun, stop.
  9. Loo update is mandatory.
10. No dating the thread. 11. Read Why Men Love Bitches (aka WMLB), and take from it what you will. 12. Don't serve up moose burgers on the first date (although this is still in debate right now)

Thanks Flowers I think I'm going to post in Mental Health as I'm really not sure what's going on with me. I keep calling it "anxiety" but I don't think it's quite that. But I do think I might need some help and I don't want to keep burdening you guys with it all.

314Romaniac · 22/02/2016 11:21

PS Waving, I'm hoping that you'll react in a similar way to how I reacted to H's sudden lack of interest in me.

First 24-72 hours - felt very flat, but not that sad actually. Wine brought the tears on.

The rest of the week, analysing bits and pieces that were said, but feeling relieved not to be waiting for his scraps of communication!!
The second week, wishing I'd got the chance to tell him how he fell short!
The third week, back in the saddle, determined to avoid ENTJs and Alpha Males

314Romaniac · 22/02/2016 11:22

I'm so pleased for you that you got the chance to give him the MH speech. What did you say? I wouldn't have been able to resist bringing up how inconsistent and illogical he was, so if you held that back, you're very restrained/

314Romaniac · 22/02/2016 11:27

Mom2k did you reply to the tradesman's rant!?

I think Arty is due back from London today. Hopefully we will pick up chat and date arrangements, as he is the only of my four irons I am genuinely drawn to, despite being younger.

Denton2406 · 22/02/2016 12:08

I'm on Bumble too and am curious as well, just having a look for a 49 year old Andy! lol! Does he have his company name on there?

Loving Bumble, I only found out about it from you lot on here, had never heard of it before! I've also got one of my friends into it, she ended up with 60 matches, she must have swiped right on a lot of guys lol!

HandyWoman · 22/02/2016 12:28

60 matches? Good good lord! She must be hot stuff!!!! Or pretty indiscriminate

Shock
tanyadm · 22/02/2016 12:32

Bumble is rubbish up here! And I got fed up with OKC (and wanted to disassociate myself from Bee) so I only have Match and Tinder now. Oddly the latter is bearing more fruit!

TooSassy · 22/02/2016 12:56

waving re FB, if he unfriends you, you will be able to see when you click on his name. If he's still a friend it will show as friend. If he's unfriended you, it will show the add friend button.
If he blocks you, you won't be able to find him.
Bear in mind that if he has unfollowed you (as I do with certain people on Facebook), he won't see your posts in his feed. There's no way of knowing if you've been unfollowed (thank goodness)
You're much nicer than me, I'd have culled him everywhere and moved in by now!

to handy for the allegiance to the thread!

born do lean on us here should you need to. So sorry you're feeling down about 2015.

314 I'm an ENTJ!!! We're not all bad, I promise you! !!!

to everyone else. Must run.

Thanks! Don't worry, I will stay here too, I'll just try and keep things dating-related over here and not "I feel crap!" I am feeling a bit better now anyway, I always do as the day goes on.

So, I found two A, 49s on Bumble. Swiped right on both! Grin One is actually quite fit, talked about Ibiza? Anyway, I also saw quite a lot of fit, interesting seeming late 40s blokes in London, might have to try broadening my horizons a bit!

Why don't men want relationships? They're lovely! One person that cares about you and you can go out and do fun stuff with...where's the harm? Or do they just want to shag about? I saw a guy on some site this morning who said he was "polyamorous"...that's just posh for "shagger", isn't it?

Born the people on this thread ought to be invoicing me for hours on the sofa! I have to disagree with waving! I was upset over issues to do with my parents as well! so...... blah blah blah! that'll be my epitaph!

Men can get too much sex without needing to give anything. I only enjoy sex in a relationship. Women who enjoy sex with randos, good for them, but they're inadvertently ruining my love life. Wine thanks.

Polyamorous! for fucks sake. Is that pig latin for randy old goat?

BornToFolk · 22/02/2016 13:24

The other A was on a boat?

Why would you meet the guy tomorrow? For fun, or for "fun"? Totally not judging either way, I can see how either option would be appealing! Might be a bit risky just now though...

Oh good grief! I signed up for freedating.co.uk yesterday and it appears that my profile has just gone live as my inbox is filling up with messages. Seems really similar to Zoosk though, most men are either too short, too old or too far away. Or all three. And most are sending "how r u?xxxxx" type messages.

tanyadm · 22/02/2016 13:27

Born, definitely stay here, we all go off topic with our angst on here, not just dating related! I've found it a really useful support with all sorts!

314Romaniac · 22/02/2016 13:27

TooSassy yes, are you a CEO!? Grin I won't hold your entj-ness against you, it is just incompatible with my type, as I'm inclined to be a bit sensitive, a bit of a people pleaser...so confident attractive wealthy man who was so so so certain of his own genius, good fortune, ideas, path, life, career plan etc... He would have destroyed me so I'm glad he dumped me after 7 weeks. I think male ENTJs could be different from women entjs though as I'm friends with an entj and she's very successful in her job but she has vulnerabilities all right. In her personal life. This 'H' he was a machine. Actually, thank goodness it's over.

Waving well, if by freaking him out he meant, 'omg, it's almost as though she can read my mind...' then perhaps you were freaking him out!

If you're ever in contact with him again, tell him thanks, you've given me a dating horror story! thrown out of the house after sex! finally I have a dating horror story to tell my friends.

The A that I saw worked at UCL, was 49 and in London I assume, is that him? The friend who had 60 matches was drunk after our night out on Sat so I assume went through swiping right on loads of them!! I was quite shocked though lol! I managed 6 myself.

Well I've found him then if he's in front of a boat and I haven't been looking for long, he came up almost straight away!

I hope you didn't give him too much Love waving. YOu know how MH says to make the speech from a place of love and care, I'd rather make it from a lofty position of you're not what I deserve.

Mom2K · 22/02/2016 13:31

I did reply...said that I kind of agreed about celebrities like the Kardadhians, lol but that I don't really follow all that political stuff. Made a reference to a friend of mine who doesn't vote (I do vote but didn't say so)

Finished it by saying that there is a lot of crap on t.v. but I do like the Bachelor and sometimes I just like to unwind and have a laugh. Said that F.R.I.E.N.D.S was and still is my fav show ever.

Haha probably should have just made the tongue in cheek "so we probably won't be watching that together then" because I have a feeling he's still going to go on about this.

I've had a few 'sounds like my ex' moments when chattering...its been minor, but still...
