Over-reaction to DH?

Last night, DH and I were having playful banter in bed. Nothing sexy, just messing around.

He then got in top of me and started pressing his erect penis against the outside of my vulva, groin area. I said, in a cheery way, that I didn't want to have sex. He persisted anyway, I repeated "No" a few times. He then tried to push it inside me and I said, very forcefully, "I said 'No'!" He then rolled off and said I wasn't a real wife, was crap, and "Who doesn't want to have sex?!"

I was furious. I felt totally disrespected. It isn't the first time he's done this.

He's still in a bad mood about my "over-reaction".

Not an AIBU, but am I over-reacting by feeling that he must have no respect for me?

He sounds very cruel and disrespectful. It's a worrying model of relationships to give your kids, and you deserve better. The fact that he would push your sexual boundaries, make you fear being raped is awful, even worse given your history. You are worried that having been abused makes you overreact, but I feel it may be making you under react, and your husband is using that to harm you further through his horrible words and behaviour.

The term broken wife is so awful and so telling. What does he think a wife is? Are wives not independent people with brains and sex drives of their own? Does he want a 1950s stepford wife who keeps house during the day and then plays out his dirty fantasies at night?

OP, you're definitely not overreacting Thanks
