Honest opinion of gingers

Hello, my work colleague is a male ginge and seems to regard himself as being a suitable subject for the undateables! He's a lovely man and would do anything for anyone and he is really funny once he opens up. Problem is he's painfully shy at first especially around women, think looking at his feet whilst talking. He is a bit naive and has been taken for a fool before now as well as having people openly insult him with regards to his colouring. Anyway to cut a long story short he has given up on looking altogether since his last online dating fiasco. Any thoughts negative or positive to help?

I'm not sure the hair colour alone is particularly disliked - hence the reason red/orange hair dyes are quite popular.

I think it's the fact ginger hair is often accompanied by ginger eyelashes/eyebrows, pale skin and freckles that some people dislike.

I am partial to men with or red ginger hair, and men with dark hair. Looking back I have never dated a blond man. Just how it has worked out. Does that mean I am blondist?

Pressed post too soon. I like nice kind men. But show me 3 photos of the same man with blond, brown and red hair and I would find the red and brown hair men more attractive. Obviously that could change after speakingto them!

Honest opinion of blondes?

Honest opinion of brunettes?

Why does Noone ever post that? How can you lump a whole group of people in together like that?! This ginger stuff really annoys me!

I generally find women with ginger hair attractive. The blokes I know with ginger hair usually have a good sense of humour (years of 'banter' I suppose).

To be fair, I didn't say ALL ginger blokes had a GSOH, I said the ones that I know do.

No offence taken.

I have always had the motto 'never let a punch in the face get in the way of a good line'.

Doesn't always translate to the written word though!

Always liked ballsy women ginger or otherwise. Shrinking violets arent my thing!

He's a lovely man and would do anything for anyone and he is really funny once he opens up.

Doing anything for anybody is a particularly bad characteristic to have when OLD and usually indicates lack of confidence and poor boundaries.

Again OLD is not the right place for a person who takes a while to be comfortable enough to be themselves.

Problem is he's painfully shy at first especially around women, think looking at his feet whilst talking.

Being painfully shy is really off-putting. A man being painfully shy around women would make me think they were sexist.

He is a bit naive and has been taken for a fool before now as well as having people openly insult him with regards to his colouring.

It's OLD, it's harsh, virtually everyone who has done OLD has been taken for a fool and insulted at some time.

I don't think he should be doing OLD and perhaps he should be working on his self esteem and confidence before he tries any kind of dating at all.

Hair colour is irrelevant.

Redheads are called " Rang-ers " in Australia, a la our Julia Gillard.
My mum, Aunty and cousins were/are redheads. Love it.

I absolutely adore red heads. The pale skin, the freckles.....everything! Think of Robert Redford!!! Now" tall dark and handsome" does nothing for me, always been the same. I think we're all programed differently, obviously to keep all the genes in the mix.
