Should I ask him up here?

Look I know it's Sunday and the sun is shining.. But pleease I need some encouragement . I posted my story on 'what's the most embarrassing thing that's happened to you?' thread yesterday and feel it's time to look wider for help.

Cutting long story short - bloke I fancy lives in garden flat below me. Pretty sure he's single, another neighbour reckons so too. Me, hung washing out on my balcony (mostly undies), windy day, they all flew off and landed in his garden downstairs. I plucked up the nerve to go down there ask him if I could get them, he agreed very nicely offered to help. I refused it and sprinted through his place, to garden, picked, (I thought), all my washing up and was leaving hurriedly, managed to catch bra strap in door handle, they all fell on his floor and I banged head on his living room door. I gathered up all items again and ran home burning with embarrassment.

Day later, knock on door, I answered in old jogging bottoms, filthy old vest, and cat shit, litter tray shovel in my hand. It was him, with a pair of my huge, grey baggies in his hand. He gave them (lovely smile) to me, and made a witty remark. Told me his name and that he's a plumber etc.. I, through half-opened front door , snatched nix off him, in tears of embarrassment. He left saying if he found anymore he'd bring them back..

Anyhow couple of days on and I'm calm and looking incredibly gorgeous, his car is downstairs and I have leaking tap. Should I ask him up here???? If so, how?? WTF do I say??

Oh dear. sour you said it's been "6 years for me. No man." back on page 2 or so. Confused

I'm in the "oh well if it's fiction, at least it's entertaining" camp FWIW. Better than making something horrible up.

DoorToTheRiver · 22/05/2015 10:25

I'd be disappointed if this wasn't true as this thread has brought back happy memories for me as had a slightly similar situation. Although the OP's thread seems a lot more romantic and a rather more fast moving romance than mine ever was!

I think the OP's writing style is quite entertaining regardless of the truth or not and it seems harmless enough.

Perhaps in threads where there is some doubt but no harm being done there could be a line in red put in the OP by MNHQ saying there are doubts expressed by some posters as to the authenticity of this thread but posters are enjoying it so we're leaving it up. That way no one gets over invested and people can choose if they take the thread seriously or not.

JeanSeberg · 22/05/2015 10:28

More than a few tragic events in his life

Looking forward to hearing more about this!

yougotafriend · 22/05/2015 10:29

It'll be interesting to see if the OP comes back now. I for 1 will be disappointed if it's not real.....

DoorToTheRiver · 22/05/2015 10:31

Bloomingflower1 how disappointing. I did at least think the basis of the story was true and it was embellished or spiced up. From your digging of the OP's other posts it would appear it is completely entertaining bollocks.

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 22/05/2015 10:36

I'm also usually not into digging up past posts, but when there's doubt it seems it's warranted, just so nobody gets over-invested I suppose.

OP also started a thread about her 15 year old daughter not too long ago...

letscookbreakfast · 22/05/2015 10:44

Oh dear, please tell me this isn't fiction as I genuinely wanted to highfive the OP.

JeanSeberg · 22/05/2015 11:01

You need a good memory to be a fantasist!

Lweji · 22/05/2015 11:01

Oh don't say it's not real sad I've enjoyed this thread far too much...

Yes, but mostly because of the puns. Go on OP, although we need to move on from plumbing.

Bloomingflower1 · 22/05/2015 11:32

It does seem like something of a harmless fantasy. In an earlier thread OP mentioned a plumber and a first floor flat (I think), and showed quite a bit of knowledge of plumbing. However, this was about the OP who started the thread and not sourdrawers. It seems that the fantasy is some sort of continuation of the previous thread, which sourdrawers didn`t own. Interesting.

Bloomingflower1 · 22/05/2015 11:37

Well at least in the story his rigid overflow pipe was working properly. Good job that he didn`t have a back flow preventer fixed on it!

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 22/05/2015 11:43

Also, on a cringey thread:

poster sourdrawers Wed 04-Mar-15 13:44:45
Not the worse. I'm working up to that one! But most recent was - had a plumber in to do some under sink stuff. He asked me for a rag, I grabbed the first thing I could find, turned out to be a pair of old, red, lacy knickers I was planning to use as a duster. When he was finished with them he had a look at them, said sorry, gave them back to me and grinned.

I think you should just write a "50 Shades" book with a plumber as your main man, sour...it seems you have a lot of strange encounters with them! Grin Thanks

Koalafications · 22/05/2015 11:51

Oh gosh, you can't keep your knickers under control can you, OP?

BitOutOfPractice · 22/05/2015 11:52

She certainly had a "DP" this time last year as she mentions him a few times.

Like I said, harmless fantasy but pretty obvious I'd say, right from the first "date"

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 22/05/2015 11:59

I suppose the next time a what's your embarrassing story thread comes up, OP's can be "that time I started a fantasy thread on MN and got rumbled." Poor OP! Have some Wine.

ItsRainingInBaltimore · 22/05/2015 12:14

More than one plumber/knicker related embarrassing incident in the same month? Hmm

What a shame. If I didn't quite believe it at the beginning I really don't now.

PinkSquash · 22/05/2015 12:32

Apparently her DP hates Greg Wallace, this was in March so, six years it ain't. Hmm

Pispcina · 22/05/2015 12:39

It's the underwear troll again.

This has been going on for YEARS

(anyone remember aeroplane boy in the park?)

letscookbreakfast · 22/05/2015 12:44

I'm beginning to understand why some people are suspicious of threads on MN, why bullshit? You'll be rumbled eventually.

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 22/05/2015 12:50

Yes just seen another mention of "DP" from March this year on a Fortitude thread. I mean, really...I gotta say I'd be more than slightly annoyed if my DH was typing out fantasies about shagging another woman online...

Gutted! I feel so cheated! (Although it didn't half give me the warm and fuzzies for a bit).

Pispcina · 22/05/2015 12:57

Ok having had a look in advanced search I am seriously concerned about this geezer. He's clearly some sort of gas engineer and obsessed with women's underwear - but on one thread recently he offered to 'send DP round' to someone's home in London to take a look at her boiler.

I have reported. He's been here a long time under various names if I'm correct. I remember him from years ago. The style is very recognisable.
