Should I ask him up here?

Look I know it's Sunday and the sun is shining.. But pleease I need some encouragement . I posted my story on 'what's the most embarrassing thing that's happened to you?' thread yesterday and feel it's time to look wider for help.

Cutting long story short - bloke I fancy lives in garden flat below me. Pretty sure he's single, another neighbour reckons so too. Me, hung washing out on my balcony (mostly undies), windy day, they all flew off and landed in his garden downstairs. I plucked up the nerve to go down there ask him if I could get them, he agreed very nicely offered to help. I refused it and sprinted through his place, to garden, picked, (I thought), all my washing up and was leaving hurriedly, managed to catch bra strap in door handle, they all fell on his floor and I banged head on his living room door. I gathered up all items again and ran home burning with embarrassment.

Day later, knock on door, I answered in old jogging bottoms, filthy old vest, and cat shit, litter tray shovel in my hand. It was him, with a pair of my huge, grey baggies in his hand. He gave them (lovely smile) to me, and made a witty remark. Told me his name and that he's a plumber etc.. I, through half-opened front door , snatched nix off him, in tears of embarrassment. He left saying if he found anymore he'd bring them back..

Anyhow couple of days on and I'm calm and looking incredibly gorgeous, his car is downstairs and I have leaking tap. Should I ask him up here???? If so, how?? WTF do I say??

@lighthouse - if your 'dp' is not a 'dh', may I suggest you peruse some of the cautionary tales on this board from those who bitterly regret putting the cart before the horse and bear in mind that karma's a bitch

As for you, sourdrawers, you shameless hussy < cackle > YOU ROCK HONEY!!!

For your next liaison may I suggest commando under a demure knee length dress/skirt? You'll enslave him and should it all go pearshaped he'll never forget you Grin

Ashbeeee · 22/05/2015 05:54

lighthouse I much prefer the 'weeing on my chips' expression as don't often go in for parades myself.

I disagree entirely and love the sharing of the shag story. yay for sex,yay for first time rude and fabulous sex with well-endowed, digitally-challenged plumber. and added bonus points to drawers for the highly effective use of norks. marvellous all round.

its my birthday today, and having just caught up on 2 days' worth of posts, consider the unfolding story an unexpected and rather welcome birthday present. thanks MNetters, you fabulous groovy lot. and keep shagging. You know it makes sense. Grin Grin Grin

goddess thanks. its a biggie. may have a shag to celebrate. woohoo!

JeanSeberg · 22/05/2015 06:16

Some of it may be true, ie someone went for a drink with a plumber. Most sounds made up as her audience are lapping it up. Probably no different from most of MN.

BitOutOfPractice · 22/05/2015 07:32

jean if you read back you'll find that I said similar yesterday. I believe the first couple of posts. After that, not so much. The writing style, the "plot", the far far too quick escalation. I think op has got carried away with the audiences response.

I await flaming and deletion

Hello again all. Lovely bunch of Flowers delivered last night with a note "Installing combi boiler, thinking of you" ...

I haven't decided yet about Saturday. It is only 1 night after all. I'm already desperate to see him again. Was very tempted to go downstairs last night, burst in, red dress, Rose in teeth Carmen like. Fought the urge though. (Killjoy, whasername poster would have been proud)?.. .

Friends are urging me to go if I feels right - I have to say it does at the moment.. I'm not sure, maybe I'm over thinking it?? Part of me is racing to make the most of what feels like a changed horizon (how ever brief it may turn out to be). The other half is saying, but he lives downstairs and you never knew his name last week you silly old moo, get a grip.

Summertimeplease · 22/05/2015 07:54

Silly story.

BitOutOfPractice · 22/05/2015 07:59

Well if you were my friend I'd be telling you to get a grip I'm afraid. Also, don't you want to spend time with your DD?

wallypops · 22/05/2015 08:14

I went 6 years without and when I finally decided to dust off my tackle my chosen target was naked and in action within 10 minutes. It's still fantastic. Make your own rules up and enjoy. If it makes you feel good no one else's opinion counts. Wink

Lovely bunch of Flowers delivered last night with a note "Installing combi boiler, thinking of you"

Yeah of course that happened.

BitOutOfPractice · 22/05/2015 08:35

Jean I was already sceptical but it was the

"We went to this lovely Japanese restaurant and despite sticking a chopstick up my nostril, and choking on Sake, it was lovely"

line that finally sent all my chick lit klaxons off

Chipshopninja · 22/05/2015 08:41

Oh don't say it's not real Sad I've enjoyed this thread far too much...

BitOutOfPractice · 22/05/2015 08:47

Just my opinion chips - no reason you can't enjoy it though

SagaNorensLeatherTrousers · 22/05/2015 08:49

You can still enjoy it Chips, just in a Sophie Kinsella/Bridget Jones type of way.

BitOutOfPractice · 22/05/2015 08:59

And what man says "yes, after meeting you twice, I wil let your teenage / early 20s daughter (whom I have never met) have my flat for the evening to have a party for all her friends while I go away for the night."

That's not even mentioning everything else. Really OP. It's such a shame because so many people invested in the story but far-fetched doesn't even describe it

Goodbetterbest · 22/05/2015 09:08

Does it matter really? Fact or fiction? It's been a giggle. I hope it's true because I like the idea of someone having fun times, throwing caution to the wind. But It makes no jot of difference to anyone on here so don't get hung up on it.

spad · 22/05/2015 09:12

Aw, I really like this thread. The flowers part if the story is the bit that doesn't add up to me.

Koalafications · 22/05/2015 09:21

Agree with BitOutOf I think it's intreresting that he would allow her teenage daughter access to his flat whilst they go away. Why wouldn't the daughter just stay in her mums flat?! Confused

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 22/05/2015 09:41

I think it's cause he has garden.

Chipshopninja · 22/05/2015 09:45

Seems like every thread I get invested in on MN turns out to be fake Sad

I think I may need to take my bullshitometer in for a service.

I'm not going to rule this one out just yet though...

eddielizzard · 22/05/2015 09:49

that's because rl isn't that interesting!

JeanSeberg · 22/05/2015 09:58

Can't wait to read the next chapter!

SelfLoathing · 22/05/2015 10:09

Lovely bunch of Flowers delivered last night with a note "Installing combi boiler, thinking of you".

Aw no. Say it isn't so. I was so enjoying this thread.

I remember when I first joined MN there were a whole load of fake threads that kept getting deleted. I remember someone saying that the common characteristic was that they unfolded in real life time. So it typically wasn't someone asking for advice on something about to happen in the past or a while in the future - but right now - like TV. Chips it's easy to get invested in something that is like TV - a drama unfolding before your eyes - as it has immediacy.

I SO hope this isn't fake but the note is a highly implausible. On the other hand, so what - it is very entertaining and has kept us all rivetted.

Would you like me to ask DP if he can have a look? We're in West London.

Where did he get to?
