Because I think mine just became Madonna's Borderline Blush

Having had a very difficult convo with STBXH about our non existent future, I got in the car to drive home (we are already separated). Put the radio on and the above teeny 80's pop classic blasted out. And I sang out every word along with it, with feeling.

keep pushin' my love ...

Mine is All In Vain by The Vaccines. When I have bad days I like to play it nice and loud on my ipod.

'No, you can't hold a gun to my head
Because baby, I would just refuse'

Sad bad news fizzy fuzzy - but GREAT song

Linden Arden Stole the Highlights by Van Morrison. I bought this after leaving XH - feeling fragile and could only cope with very gentle sounds played very quietly - also it was amazing not to have my living space filled with his music and noise all the time. Then I started listening to the lyrics... reminded me of what I'd done to him - suitably bleak. Strange listening to it now all these years later.

Remember hearing Queen's 'I want to break free' playing in the airport toilets and thinking YES, that's how I feel!

Long time ago now but Stop by Sam Brown. Still well up now, nearly 26 yrs later, despite being happily married. Word for word, it summed up everything.

I had a hymn, which is most peculiar as I am not at all religious. Dear Lord and Father of Mankind has a verse about remaining serene whilst earthquake, wind and fire surrounds you. It ends with the phrase still, small voice of calm. I used to walk around muttering still small voice of calm, still small voice of calm to myself when XH was being especially infuriating.

I listened to this for ages..

It's been a long time (8 years).
I still remember the silent crying, the weight loss and sleepless nights.
I mourned all that I believed we would be, all that he wanted with someone else.

Anyway to end on a positive note....I like to think that when I'm ready I'll meet the right person Smile

I never really loved you anyway by The Corrs.......

You bored me with your stories
I can't believe that I endured you for as long as I did
I'm happy it's over, I'm only sorry
That I didn't make the move before you
