Mine has just returned home (3 hours later than he'd said). He didn't bother to call me to tell me how late he'd be. By the way he's doing unpaid work for the third Sunday in a row.

Sometimes I think they just walk out of the door and forget we exist. Arses!

whitestar · 22/10/2006 19:53

What does he do? does he often get stuck at work?

CountTo10 · 22/10/2006 19:53

Not the same but mine has been out all day watching footie and is still not home. Grrrrrrrr!!!

babywhiting · 22/10/2006 19:56

My dh just walked in and wanted to know if we are still going to pizza hut for tea! No because I spent the last 4 hours at a&e because dd dropped ds2(11 weeks) on his head

Judy1234 · 22/10/2006 19:58

The problem is caused when mothers work fewer hours than husbands I think. I often work on a Sunday. It creates an imbalance. It's a feminist point really. If next Sunday you worked 20 hours on the trot at high pay he'd soon see what impact that had on him. Some people prefer their work to being at home and others will lose their job if they don't do the work they have to do and sometimes clients' needs are more important than family on that particular day.

whitestar · 22/10/2006 19:58

Don't know about Laws but he definately owes you
1 dinner out
2 new dress and shoes
3 bloody good shag

alexsCURSEDMUMMY · 22/10/2006 19:59

my dh is going away to work tomorrow for 2 days and then in 2 weeks he's away for the whole weekend working, and then a couple of weeks after that he's away all weekend again.

I agree Xenia up to a point. Sometimes dh has to work long hours. And he disappears off to the States at awkward times. He has to do it, it's his job, he loves it and I'm glad of the money. But doesn't mean I don't fume...

whitestar · 22/10/2006 20:00

Feel a bit mean now he probably would much prefer to be with you and a take away ggrrr at his work place

babywhiting · 22/10/2006 20:00

whitestar he's on the sofa tonight!!!!!

OP posts:
CountTo10 · 22/10/2006 20:03

I thought that for a 6 hour day you had to have at least 30 mins and 15 mins break and 9 hrs you had to have 3 30mins breaks or something like that. There are rules and regs for that kind of thing but he'd only have a case if he was doing it against his will or thought he'd lose his job. I'm constantly bringing home work as I get panicked when I'm near deadlines and as I work pt I think i'll get bad press. Is it a similar case for your dp??
Agree with whitestar on the recompense!!!

whitestar · 22/10/2006 20:03

Don't feel mean if he didn't call!

CountTo10 · 22/10/2006 20:04

anyone got a spare sofa?

OP posts:
whitestar · 22/10/2006 20:11

Make sure you only give kids cheap choc save green and blacks for you.

Molton · 22/10/2006 20:14

Ah, but he's doing it to provide for his family, so probably won't understand why you're p'ed off. In fact, you shuld probably be grateful when he comes straight home at the end of it, rather than spending the rest of the evening in the pub to "wind down"

Another Mars vs. venus thing.......

whitestar · 22/10/2006 20:16

Count2 10 yes ds2 fine but with big bruise I'm sure to have the HV on the phone tomorow

babywhiting · 22/10/2006 20:17
