How long until you got married?

Dh and I were together for 6.5 years before we got married, now been married for 10.5 years. What about you?
No reason for asking, just nosey.

Knew each other for 6 weeks before we got engaged. Married 1yr later (would have been 4 months later but my parents put their foot down and told us that if we wanted them at the wedding it would have to be 12 months away..........we were in Zimbabwe at the time LOL). We'll have been married for 7yrs in December.

only got married because pg and parental rights act not in place then

otherwise wouldn't have bothered, tbh

much better to spend the money on a nice holiday

we had been togther a year and a half before getting engaged, got married 3 years later, been married 6 months...

but dd was born after going out for a year and the reason for such a long engagement was so we could have dd2.

met feb01, started dating jul01, moved in about a week or so later, engaged Aug, married Oct 01( only cause we wanted to go back to Aus to get married and holidays were regulated for me!)

Coming up 5 years this month.

2 dds and a babe on the way plus a move to the other side of the world - still together - and some people said it wouldn't last.

eids - people said we wouldn't last too. Thought DH would be 'just like his father' (married and divorced 3 times, 2 children from each marriage )!. But a move to the otherside of the world 2 and a 'bump' children later. Failed business venture, near bankruptcy (sp), and we're still here too

Were together 10.5 years before we got married, and have been married nearly 9 years now. Next year is our 20th/10th Anniversaries so we're having a big party

Met dh sometime in 1986 (don't remember meeting him for the first time ). Went out with him briefly in 1989. Snogged him again in 1991, but refused to go out with him. Got back together 1995, while I was living in America, so we had a long distance relationship for a year until I came home in 1996. Moved into his flat, but he was living out of London during the week so we didn't properly live together for a year when we bought a place together. Got married in 1998, had three kids, still together. So that's 12 years or so before we got married. Bit rushed, I reckon.

started going out april 1990 after being friends 5 years, preg Aug 91 Married Oct 91, so 18 months.

12 years, 3 kids, no marriage. Might start a thread on this, we are feeling financial pressure to be married but neither of us are bothered about marriage but we are both bothered about something happening to one of us and the kids missing out on money we've both worked bloody hard at.

we were together 4 years and 2 kids before we got hitched in july this year. So been married for 3 months now. We didn't spend a lot on the wedding (you know, compared to the average, but it was really special cos the kids could be there...fantastic photos!

Met Nov 2000.

Got engaged Feb 2001.

Married april 2001.

Two children and 5yrs later still happy. (And we were introduced via our parents.)
