Is your dh home from work yet?

Mine isn't and it's 9pm over here in Germany.
When do your dh's get home?
I don't know but it seems like he's married to his lab not to me, and his microscope contraptions are his kids not our ds and dd. Just sending them off to bed, another night without even seeing dad all day, times like this I wonder why we bother to stay.
Rant over, dh isn't even around to get nagged and ranted at.

DD leaves in a morning just before 8am, with DD to drop her at school. He gets home at 6:30pm each night.

IdrisTheDragon · 02/10/2006 20:10

DH is normally home by about 8. Sometimes earlier, sometimes later.

He's not home at all tonight though.

southeastastralplain · 02/10/2006 20:11

mine gets home at 930 every blinkin night

Pollyanna · 02/10/2006 20:11

Nope, mine isn't. He's usually in between 7.30 and 8.

liath · 02/10/2006 20:12

Nope, it'll be between 8.30 & 9pm. Dd hasn't seen him since saturday morning .

On the bright side he's off for the next 3 days but will be doing night shifts over the weekend.

prettymum · 02/10/2006 20:13

dp comes home at 7 if riding bike or 8ish if by car. he came in at 7 but went out again to drop car parts off to the garage!! he loves his cars and cricket more than his family!

He had a day off so he is home now!

Usually he is home at either 6.45 or 8.45 depending on which shift he works.

foxinsocks · 02/10/2006 20:15

mine's away at the mo (and has been for almost 3 weeks with the odd day back here)

does your dh have to stay till 9pm admylin - does he leave before the kids are up in the morning?

allhallows · 02/10/2006 20:16

yeah & he's already falling asleep in front of telly...

imnot27 · 02/10/2006 20:16

If my DH isn't home by 5.45pm, then I'm on the mobile asking why!!

themoon666 · 02/10/2006 20:17

Mine leaves at 6.30am most mornings and returns around 8pm most nights. Some weeks he works from home for 2 or 3 days, but is undisturbable in his office so we all tiptoe around. It's easier when he goes out to work tbh

admylin · 02/10/2006 20:18

Well atleast I'm not the only one with a dh who works long hours, I suppose atleast we get to MN in peace, if he's in from work at a reasonable hour he has this computer and his notebook on to ...work.
I'm going to have a glass of wine.

foxinsocks · 02/10/2006 20:18

what time does he go in the morning?

imnot27 · 02/10/2006 20:19

I guess I am very lucky, then! DH once had job when he got in at 7pm, made him get new job! He didn't want to work like that either, he loves getting in and playing with the kids, washing up etc

allhallows · 02/10/2006 20:20

we're 1 hour ahead. He goes in at 7:45 for 8:15. Not too much of a commute, thank goodness.

admylin · 02/10/2006 20:21

imnot27 - I only know women like you which is why I was wondering if I am alone in accepting/experienceing having a workaholic dh.
My friend is exactly the same, her dh rings before he sets off from his ofice and then he rings as he gets near their town and if he doesn't she is on the mobile to him!

Mine usually leaves house at 8.30, but drops kids off at school once or twice a week.... I'm feeling bad now!

lemonaid · 02/10/2006 20:21

No.

He might be home by 10 if we're lucky. My best guess is somewhere between 11 and midnight, though (occasionally he's not home until 2am or even, once or twice a year, at all).

On the flip side, he does have some weeks that are lighter and he's home in time for bath and bed. And he rarely works weekends -- in fact, the long hours in the week are partly designed to make sure that he can keep his weekends free for family stuff.

SherlockLGJ · 02/10/2006 20:23

DH leaves at about 7.30.

Gets home at 7.00.

One and a half hour commute both ends of the day.

imnot27 · 02/10/2006 20:23

Ooops, crossed posts there! My friend also had workaholic hubbie, I assumed she was alone and everyone elses DH is like mine, so I supported her in basically giving him a right bollocking. Now he is home by 6pm sharp or he doesn't get any tea! (or any sex!)

SherlockLGJ · 02/10/2006 20:24

What did your frinds DH do for a living ??

imnot27 · 02/10/2006 20:25

Umm, some web design stuff or sommat...
