I have met a man - got on very, very well etc. So much so that we've arranged to see each other again very soon and have been talking a lot. Very respectful of me etc. But I've just seen his FB page (I don't do FB really but he said he's on it tonight, so I went to have a look).

He has shared Britain First posters on it. I'm shocked. These are a racist, far right group. I've texted him and asked him if he believes in all that shit. He said he hates violence of all kinds but believes people living in this culture should respect their culture and beliefs. Also that he's dated women from all over the world but that we should shut the floodgates to immigration.

I am shocked. Are you? Is it me?

Thenapoleonofcrime · 20/06/2014 23:15

Yes I would be shocked and this would immediately put me off him. Ugh, that's awful!

Fanjango · 20/06/2014 23:17

Deal breaker. If he does not really support violence for "the cause" then he should not have it all over his fb page. Only racists and idiots agree with them. Fact!

AtrociousCircumstance · 20/06/2014 23:17

That would be a deal breaker for me. An immediate one.

Abitmeh · 20/06/2014 23:19

I feel sick. I really liked him.

OP posts:
LaurieFairyCake · 20/06/2014 23:20

Worst case scenario he's just really, really stupid.

Better or worse than a racist? Grin

Abitmeh · 20/06/2014 23:21

No, he's anything but stupid (but of course he is for believing that vile shit)

OP posts:
Fanjango · 20/06/2014 23:21

I live in Colchester and all this is a bit raw here, with the murder and everything . If he doesn't know what they stand for, or agree with it, then he should not be following them.

Abitmeh · 20/06/2014 23:22

He does know. How could he not. He has defended his views.

OP posts:
AnyoneForTennis · 20/06/2014 23:22

Is he really'sharing' the pics or has he 'liked' the group and so now everything they post comes up on his fb feed?

Squidstirfry · 20/06/2014 23:22

Well... Being anti immigration isn't the same as being a fascist / racist if that's all you've seen. If he starts spouting "black people have inferior DNA" and stuff, run for the hills.
Btw i also think Britain has reached breaking point with immigration now.

Fanjango · 20/06/2014 23:23

Deffo over IMO. I could never be with anyone who felt that way about another human being.

Abitmeh · 20/06/2014 23:24

I have just dumped him.

OP posts:
callamia · 20/06/2014 23:24

He is stupid for thinking that Britain First are anything but neo-fascists. They've got a pretty cunning social media policy, but anyone with a small amount of nouse can see them for what they are.

I'm sorry he's such a disappointment.

Fanjango · 20/06/2014 23:24

Britain first are NOT just anti immigration. They are next to a paramilitary group hell bent on removing non british

Chocaholicmonster · 20/06/2014 23:25

I agree with Fanjango. If people don't truly understand meanings behind things they should not 'support' them.

Im with the majority - would be a deal breaker here too.

Stampingmyfeet · 20/06/2014 23:25

That's really a shame if you like him!

I couldn't be with anyone who had those sort of views. Aside from anything it would signify to me that they weren't that bright and that would be a turn off.

Fanjango · 20/06/2014 23:25

You did the right thing. Vile views are not a good omen for a relationship Hmm

Abitmeh · 20/06/2014 23:26

He is not a stupid man. The poster he shared said something about not feeling like he lives in his own country or able to walk down the street and feel at home. That's not anti immigration.

OP posts:
LadyNexus · 20/06/2014 23:26

Get rid.

Doinmummy · 20/06/2014 23:26

I'm not too far down the road from you Fanjango and I agree.

kyotokate · 20/06/2014 23:27

Please read this

MagpieMama · 20/06/2014 23:27

Yeah I'd be running for the hills. Having differing views on immigration is one thing but I've seen the stuff people repost from "Britain First" and it's hateful, racist propaganda.

Britain Furst however is a hilarious parody page so have a look at that to have some laughs and cheer yourself up!

Abitmeh · 20/06/2014 23:28

We had a text exchange in which I said they are a break off from the bnp who i have demonstrated against many times and would again. he said if it's a deal breaker for me which i can't get past then now is the time to say goodbye. It was.

OP posts:
Scarletohello · 20/06/2014 23:29

Good for you for dumping him so quick. Sad for you that he wasn't such a great guy as you thought tho. :(

Abitmeh · 20/06/2014 23:34

No he posted their poster. He did that deliberately and some of his mates 'liked' it.
I feel really sick!
