Suspicious Filth!!

Ok. Help. I think I'm going to explode.

I was fluffing the pillows in our marital bed with Ds, when he pulled himself up using the metal bedhead... and was very pleased to have discovered a sticky lump of used chewing gum stuck behind it.

I don't chew gum- I think it's vile, and I have never ever seen Dh chew gum either. It's clearly quite a recent deposit as its still sticky.

I'm pregnant and Dh has been off sex of late, I put this down to my hippo frame and that he has been working such long hours lately.
He went off sex when I was pregnant with Ds, then I discovered an unhealthy intrest in internet porn on his phone.
Has he gone off me this time and replaced the porn with a real life, gum chewing, slutbag???

Please help me rationalise this before I storm to his work, throwing said gum, along with his suitcases, at him....!

How old is ds? Could it be his gum?

Mrsfullhouse · 09/05/2014 13:51

Ds is 15 months!!

Any other youngsters?

Cleaner?

workman? electrican etc?

I dunno, sorry.

mammadiggingdeep · 09/05/2014 13:56

Would he have had a chance to have somebody in your home recently? Any other suspicious happenings? How is he with his phone?

FuckyNell · 09/05/2014 13:57

Is this a joke or serious?

MissOtisRegretsMadam · 09/05/2014 13:59

Are you totally certain he would never chew gum?

Weird for another woman to leave chewing gum there though... Like what a teenager would do.

I once found another woman's earring next to my ex p bed... She had left it on purpose for me to find.

Mrsfullhouse · 09/05/2014 14:04

I know, I knowhat this sounds like a joke, but I'm serious!
No work men etc. My mother has had bowel cancer recently, so I've been spending time at hers, with Ds naturally. He's Ok with his phone. No lock etc, but went to message Mil from his phone the other day, and his messages were empty. Like, totally empty! None sent, none received. He has an old phone, so assumed that he was clearing space for memory or something.

Am I being a total hormonal nightmare?

OP posts:
Mrsfullhouse · 09/05/2014 14:06

Also... What on earth would work men be doing sticking chewing gum on my bed frame???
Urgh!!!!

Oh god.

Would he have an opportunity to get a gum chewing slut into the marital bed?

If you're pregnant with a 15 month old toddler, I'm guessing that most of your time is spent at home.

Are you out of the house a lot during the day/evening, or have you been away recently, maybe overnight, without your H?

If I'd found chewing gum as you describe, I would definitely instigate a whole vague 'don't you think chewing gum is a disgusting habit?' type discussion with my partner, before I let on that I'd found some - just to completely rule out it being his.

Mrsfullhouse · 09/05/2014 14:10

Having visions of it behind stuck there by some dirty skank in the throws of passion.

dh just not a 'chewer' In three years of marriage, I've never seen him with gum. And even if he did, why why why would the dirty bustard stick it on the bed frame...?

OP posts:
FourAndDone · 09/05/2014 14:12

Sounds strange! Are you certain it is gum?

leafhopper · 09/05/2014 14:14

Maybe he is a secret chewer. I am, DH thinks I gave it up years ago.

MrsWinnibago · 09/05/2014 14:16

Could a carpet fitter have done it? Other workman?

Mrsfullhouse · 09/05/2014 14:17

Defo gum.
Dh home in the day time sometimes while I work part time as he his on school hours.
Ds would be at nursery.

Now driving myself mad trying to think of 'signs' I may have missed.

I dare not tackle him head on as I've had a touch of antenatal depression and I don't. Think I could handle the inevitable 'you're being crazy' 'shall I call the midwife' chat.

OP posts:
Patchouli · 09/05/2014 14:19

I was going to ask if he's had the opportunity recently too.
Time home alone? Anything you can remember from then if there was?

Patchouli · 09/05/2014 14:20

Sorry x post

mammadiggingdeep · 09/05/2014 14:24

You need to ask him face to face and perhaps his reaction will be a give away. Go with your gut reaction.

Has there ever been any cheating/dodgy behaviour in the past?

mammadiggingdeep · 09/05/2014 14:25

You don't need to accuse him. Just save the him and show him. Ask him how it got on the bed.

Ivehearditallnow · 09/05/2014 14:26

If he's home in the day does he work nights?

This is going to sound weird but I used to chew menthol gum when I worked nights to try and stay awake - could he have come in with it in his mouth and then been a pig and stuck it there because he couldn't be bothered to chuck it out (or clean his teeth... eeh!).

Is he usually gross? Or would him sticking his own gum on the bed be totally out of character?

Do you have any teenage kids in the house who could have been... er... entertaining on your double bed? x

MarcusAurelius · 09/05/2014 14:32

I may be clutching at straws but its not some kind of sealant in the bed frame is it?

ThePriory · 09/05/2014 15:27

Keep the gum, show him it and say "How did this get on the bedframe?" And watch him squirm, or provide a viable reason.

The gum in addition to the blank messages seems a little suspicious tbh, sorry.

AnyFucker · 09/05/2014 15:45

If you daren't ask your husband a simple question without being accused of being crazy, you have more problems than just a bit of unexplained gum on the bedpost.

Mrsfullhouse · 09/05/2014 15:53

Gum still on bed frame, Dh on his way home from work. I have worked myself into a state of all hell's fury and am ready to murder the bastard.

Dh normally a good egg, no previous (except porn when pregnant)

Oh god. Why is it not acceptable to drink a bottle of red wine and then smash it over Dh's head in the style of Elizabeth Taylor, when pregnant.

The next few hours could be interesting. If he is innocent, and just a disgusting slob who thinks it's acceptable to stick chewing gum to furniture like some pubescent dicktard..
I pity him.

Hey op

Before you kick off, is there a chance it could have come off of someone's clothes? Is it placed there or caught on to the bed from anther source. Such as a bag bedding from the line etc.

Ivehearditallnow · 09/05/2014 16:16

'No previous' - haha.
I'd find sticking gum to the bed more offensive than porn to be honest! Smile x
