Seems to me that the hospitalisation is more likely to be with a putative pregnancy than an infidelity. When my Dsis found out her DH was cheating, her first thought was - is she pregnant??? (OW had made it wisely knownd she wanted another baby). Luckily she was not. (She managed it with the next sucker ). DSis and her DH reconciled, but the pregnancy would have been a deal-breaker.
