I'm in a really unhappy marriage with a guy who won't control his drinking, and is emotionally abusive. I have a gorgeous 2 yr old & no support in rl. I didn't know where to post do hoping someone can point me in the right direction.

OP sorry if this is upsetting for you. Sometimes people get quite vehement on here but I don't think anyone is trying to bully you.

I think it's just that it's often more easy to see a situation more clearly when you are outside it.

No one wants to minimise how upsetting or difficult this is for you.

But you have to realise that staying with someone who is abusive is not a viable long term solution for you or your son.

It doesn't matter what your parents think. They don't have to live with him.

It's not going to be easy, no one underestimates this. But you sound like an intelligent person and a loving mother. You will certainly have a better future without this man than with him.

Maybe the secret is to get some fee advice on immigration and benefit entitlement? Also to start picking up the phone and reporting a use as it happens. This will get agencies involved with your family and drag it all out into the light where things will get better x
