ex OH referring to my DC as ted bundys

wontletmesignin · 04/11/2013 22:44

what would this mean to you people...
my children are not out of the ordinary, in the slightest.
i have had behavioral problems with my eldest, of 10. but she has had a tough life, and i feel it has all be quite understandable.
if anything, she has handled things very well.

after everything i have been going through lately, re. my ex oh.
i have came to talk about a lot of things, that i wasn't really allowed to talk about.

one of those was him calling my oldest two children
'ted bundys'

now, if your children were on the normal developmental range for their age.
but your ex oh, was slighty disturbed.

how would you take this? what would you feel was meant by this?

Is he their father?

wontletmesignin · 04/11/2013 22:49

no

Just tell him you will be addressing him by his new nickname of 'micropenis' until he stops...

MistAllChuckingFrighty · 04/11/2013 22:54

he is calling your children psychopathic serial killers ?

Is he serious ?

do you have other children with this man ?

PukingCat · 04/11/2013 22:56

That he aspires to be like Ted Bundy, or admires him, or fantasies about doing what he did so much, that its on his mind frequently and so becomes normal for him to bring him into conversation or project it onto others.

wontletmesignin · 04/11/2013 22:56

i have one child with this man. a ds who is 3, and he can't handle his behavior - which i would like to add, is also normal 3 year old behavior. you know, playing with things, talking a lot, making loud noises....

CatAmongThePigeons · 04/11/2013 22:57

Is it TF Bundy he's saying? That's an awful acronym

What an utterly horrible prick he is.

MistAllChuckingFrighty · 04/11/2013 22:59

I can certainly see why this ignorant twat is your ex

Is there any reason for your elder children to see him at all ?

AnyFuckerReporting · 04/11/2013 23:02

That's what I thought too Cat. Horrible if it is but equally pretty horrible if he means something else by it. There's no complimentary angle is there really?

wontletmesignin · 04/11/2013 23:03

no my elder children will be having nothing to do with this from now on.

cannot wait to see different peoples views on this though. i can't help but agree with pukingcat

OP posts:
wontletmesignin · 04/11/2013 23:03

no, you're right. there is no complimentary angle with this what so ever...

He's obviously being offensive. Can't think of a rhyming slang for 'Ted Bundy' off the top of my head. As a serial killer operational in the 70s I doubt anyone under the age of 40 knows who Ted Bundy was.... so as a reference it's a bit dated. He probably just watches a lot of those real crime programmes on TV.

earlgray · 05/11/2013 07:05

Ted Bundy means nothing to me, I shall Google now. The sound makes me think of undies. Bundy=undies.
Not much help sorry, he sounds horrid whatever.

NoArmaniNoPunani · 05/11/2013 07:21

Ted Bundy was a notorious sociopathic serial killer and necrophiliac. I'm well under 40 and I know that! I would want nothing to do with anyone who described a child like that and would seriously question his sanity.

mammadiggingdeep · 05/11/2013 07:37

Why would he call them that??!! I don't get it? Is he saying they're so naughty they're like Ted Bundy?? That doesn't even make sense. I'm just confused!! Whatever the reason it's totally sick...and worrying. If makes me sick just to read that mans name let alone use it flippantly. Bizarre.

DEFINATELY don't allow him to see your older two dc. What type of contact does he have with your youngest?

RevelsRoulette · 05/11/2013 12:28

He's calling your children psychopaths. Bloody hell. What a vile thing for him to say. What's wrong with him? Hmm

Andro · 05/11/2013 15:41

I'd assume the reference was to the charming and manipulative serial killer of the same name...why any adult would make such a reference about a child is something I really don't understand.

nomdesw2 · 05/11/2013 16:25

TFBundy is medical slang for "Totally fucked but unfortunately not dead yet"

So, whether he is saying that or Ted Bundy is almost immaterial.

Vile tosser either way.

scarletandblack · 05/11/2013 16:38

TFBundy is medical slang for "Totally fucked but unfortunately not dead yet"

???!

No wonder there appears to be such a lack of empathy prevalent in the 'caring' professions, then. Sad

nomdesw2 · 05/11/2013 16:57

I'm not personally in the "caring professions", I hasten to add. if i were they would defrock me for beaking the code

PukingCat · 05/11/2013 17:07

TFBundy is medical slang for "Totally fucked but unfortunately not dead yet"

Wow really? That's wrong in so many ways!

scarletandblack · 05/11/2013 17:32

I don't want to hijack this thread, but I do think these slang terms (of which I'm sure 'TFBundy' is only one of many), although ostensibly trivial, are indicative of a lack of recognition of patients as sentient human beings to be treated with some dignity, whatever their condition.

This unfortunately seems to be endemic in the culture of the NHS, nursing homes and medicine in general.

OP - Whatever your exOH meant, it was obviously derogatory, and an oddly non-current reference, unless he takes an interest in serial killers? I would be very wary of someone using the term to refer to children....or anyone, for that matter.

threecee · 05/11/2013 17:48

I have been a Staff Nurse and Ward Sister for 30 years ,and i have never heard of people being called TFBundys or anything else offensive.Sorry to disappoint you scarletandblack.

Geckos48 · 05/11/2013 17:55

Sound like a bad joke to me rather than something a HCP would actually say or write.

I think we should develop his very own little acronym

VivaLeBeaver · 05/11/2013 17:58

I'm a medical professional and have never heard anyone say that.
