Health worries, job worries and an overwhelming feeling that I've bitten off far more than I can chew. I'm fine in the day by keeping super busy but past two nights palpitations going bonkers.

jynier · 05/04/2013 01:10

kitten Would it help to go through it step-by-step?

< Tell us about your health worries (there are professionals on here!)

< Next, what is upsetting you about your job? Why do you think that you have bitten off more than you can chew?

< How bad are the palpitations?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 05/04/2013 01:22

cafecito · 05/04/2013 03:04

kitten you are welcome here any time if you can brave the midnight madness Grin hope you get some sleep

Midwife99 · 05/04/2013 03:11

Well that's me punished for being away from home for 2 nights! DD2 wouldn't go to bed without a fight & just woke up at 2am. Came into bedroom switched lamp on, delirious DH said "take your nappy off & get in if you like" (!!), Spider the cat thundered in & started trying to suck my nightie strap & DH put a pillow over his head & went back to sleep!
Careful negotiations & DD is back in bed with new nappy & milkies & cat sent downstairs for being rude.
Am now awake!! Shock

Midwife99 · 05/04/2013 03:14

Hi Jynier! No experience of Liverpool Care Pathway as I've never worked in end of life care or had close relatives terminally ill. A bit worried about the targets thing though!! Hmm

cafecito · 05/04/2013 03:19

jynier · 05/04/2013 03:38

Minimammoth · 05/04/2013 03:40

Am awake too. Lumpiness has broken out. Only in a small pressure area though, well I was at desk most if day yesterday.

Minimammoth · 05/04/2013 03:44

That sounds like the beginning of a joke. Why did the midwife have her baby in a carpark? Cos she.......
Answers on a postcard.

jynier · 05/04/2013 04:14

I know a couple whose 4th daughter was conceived in a car park (the dad used to boast about it!).

cafecito · 05/04/2013 05:05

mini is allergic to desks!!

jynier -- words fail me Shock

circle of willis, I have fondled a few of those - and the tearing though that's something I haven't even really covered, awful. My favourite (not birth related) = the pterion, which is very thin part of the skull and directly underneath it is the middle meningeal artery. oft called god's little joke, it's why you can fall over and be fine and then die horribly.

you've probably heard this one

a hospital posted a notice in the midwives station saying: "Remember, the first five minutes of a human being's life are the most dangerous." Underneath, a midwife had written: "The last five are pretty risky, too."

cafecito · 05/04/2013 05:10

I had a super speedy labour themidwife, with DC1 it was.... 2cm to 10cm in LESS THAN 30 MINS Shock does that mean my ladybits were actually, really really lazy? I like to think it's my super abdominal muscle tone Wink [scoffs cake]
but I did have pre eclampsia and ridiculously self discharged. I also had undiagnosed at the time obstetric cholestasis. I also remember asking for a gun to shoot myself with, as the pain, I just could not see the end. was like a very very sharp very very large wardrobe was trying to exit

cafecito · 05/04/2013 05:12

who here is planning more babies? kitty - do hurry up please and then you can make it a matching bonnet Smile

KittyAndTheFontanelles · 05/04/2013 06:34
