Western ok once last try here Grin. If this were me, I may be arsiing about on fb, browsing, commenting and the rest of my fb nonsense. What I wouldn't be doing is making any arrangements which probably involved me having to a) think ahead b) deal with difficult ex c) talk to my gf as I hadn't done a) or b).

Bantam I do think coffee is fine, it's an ambiance thing. Starfucks is not the best for any situation. A couple of drinks must make things go a little easier. Thinking about it I ended up seeing the last almost bf as I drank too many cocktails on the first date and although he was very attractive I somehow failed to notice he was Shock Jock man in his views because he was funny after the beer ears of 4 extremely strong ones.

mercury7 · 23/11/2012 20:23

but, as has been said before, with OD the first date is a pre-date, for each to decide if the other is someone they'd like to date/get naked with.

I used to feel the need for alcohol with these kinds of things but these days, although I get nervous, I am confident enough to cope sober:)

Yogagirl17 · 23/11/2012 20:25

Just read the profile of a 37 yo who thought it was necessary to mention he has his own place. Hmm

So should I message any of these guys?

ab444444
talkingtosh
hetfield
scootex
bendle

(The last one sent me a message a few days ago I never replied to)

Or should I just stay on the sofa and buy more m&ms?

Quick etiquette check. Is it wrong of me to mail someone to say I've her profile photos and really fancy her sister, and is she single?

OhWesternWind · 23/11/2012 20:42

Can't see them on my phone Yoga but will have a look when/if I can get dd off the pc ....

Juliette - yes, but if it were me I'd twiddle around on FB AND send a quick text to my gf as well! Like Dog says, even a "feeling shite" or "thank you" text would be fine! But I don't want him to get Dog's groany feeling when he sees a text from me so I am stepping back now. Do NOT let me text him tonight even if I think it's a good idea in an hour or so. I knew I wasn't going to see him til next week anyway, and I have friends over tomorrow for wine, so I'm getting on with my own stuff. So I know I am being stupid. And I know I shouldn't be whittling about stuff like this too! That's why this thread's great - I can have my therapy on here from all you lovely people then face the world with dignity intact.

JulietteMontague · 23/11/2012 20:44

Yoga This is Ms Picky's list
ab444 absolutely, yes
Talking tosh - a little bit em, Blazing Sadles? beware the farting
Hetfield - yes
Scootex - I don't go for comedy pics and made up occupations but if you do, he sounds fun throughout his profile.
Bendle - maybe, He does have a 10 yr record as a positive.

Yogagirl17 · 23/11/2012 20:46

Western yes, lay off or in his befuddled mind, he may feel hassled. You won't text him or I, and several hundred/thousand others will go to Defcon 1 with no warning Grin Let him be and if he is still being Mummy's little soldier tomorrow, still let him be. Sunday you can start to be pissed off but will still not show it as you still won't text. OK?

I will not text all weekend.
I will not text all weekend.
I will not etc etc

I won't, honest!

Bantam, you are too cheeky. Have you done it? And did you ever reply to the Russian you wrote all that nonsense to?

bantamrooster · 23/11/2012 21:23

Of course I haven't bloody done it Grin I was just seeing who was paying attention

(although the sister was quite cute)

Yogagirl17 · 23/11/2012 21:36

You'd be banned from your own site for doing something like that!

Ok, I've messaged the first two on my list (I quite like Blazing Saddles). See, this is what happens when I get bored.

Yogagirl17 · 23/11/2012 21:39

Meanwhile, do I have to reply to gingerbread man and if so what do I say? This was his last message:

"How is the job hunting going?
Weather seems pretty miserable today. I need to go out in it later as well.
Anyway reason for message, let me know if you fancy grabbing a coffee some time? "

Zzzzzzzzzzz

bantamrooster · 23/11/2012 21:51

yoga - your enthusiasm is deafening.

Just reply, tell him you're sorry you're dating someone else and want to see how it goes. It's kind of easier to hear (I think) than being told he's too boring, or left hanging.

MyLittleFireBird · 23/11/2012 22:01

Such a fast moving thread! Not sure I can keep track of who's doing who what.

yoga Emails like that from gingerbread man make my heart sink. I can never find the energy to reply to them, and then the gap just gets longer and more awkward. Ugh. Hope tonight's crop yield better conversation though!

I have a date tomorrow (pub, evening) with someone who I've now exchanged lots of emails with and who seems to be someone who could be what I am looking for (which is something between FWB and a boyfriend, with a very little 'b'). He's going to another country early in Dec though and possibly won't be back, or will otherwise be back in a couple of months. Still, will be nice to go out. Am chatting to several others, but not enthusiastically.

Yogagirl17 · 23/11/2012 22:15

Firebird I'm always a bit Hmm at the "i'm going to another country soon" thing. Maybe I'm becoming a bit cynical but I wonder if it's just giving themselves a way out. Hope he's good company tomorrow though.

Bantam you mean I should just reply with "Zzzzzzz"? No, probably not. Good thinking, will take your advice.

Yogagirl17 · 23/11/2012 22:15

Oops, I mean't shouldn't

OhWesternWind · 23/11/2012 22:26

Ooh Yoga I do like the first one on your list! Too young and too far away for me otherwise I'd nab him. . .

snapespeare · 23/11/2012 22:47

I am drunk! (Yay!)

I want to text voldemort! (Boo!)

It's been 4 weeks today. I absolutely fucking hate this, but I know it's liberating. Still, very sad.

Sad
snapespeare · 23/11/2012 22:48

BANTAM!

Just. No.

OhWesternWind · 23/11/2012 22:48

Nooooooooooooooooooooo Snape don't text! I've not texted and I've been on the rum and coke all night so if I can stand firm then a woman of your resiliance and grit definitely can Grin
