Slightly - this man sounds really worrying. I'd avoid him like the plague. It's all "nice" control at the moment but a few months in it would be a different matter. Scary that you can see so clearly how these things start.

Watch - so sorry to hear your news. Moved house twice in the last year so I know how hellish it is. Hope you find somewhere soon.

Kirsty - skinny firemen? That's so not right!! Onward and upward . . . better luck for tonight.

Sponge - you heard back about date three yet?

watchoutforthatsnail · 06/11/2012 16:28

The problem isnt so much finding somewhere, though having a dog and being on partial hb make that almost impossible...

but when i do find somewhere, i dont actually have any money as a deposit.
As in, none. According to several agents in the area im looking at needing approx £1700 all in. I dont even have £200 spare a month....

hatesponge · 06/11/2012 16:28

kirsty hope tonight goes well :)

western not heard yet yet, probably won't til after 5...just hoping he can make it. I only saw him last night and it already seems like ages ago Blush

hatesponge · 06/11/2012 16:32

watch I had a quick look in what I think may be your general area (though possibly entirely wrong end of town etc) and saw a couple of places which seemed to be suggesting they wouldn't require a deposit... I know there's your dog and hb to consider as well so may not be an option for those reasons but I'll pm you with the links when I get home just in case.

watchoutforthatsnail · 06/11/2012 16:46

thanks sponge, appreciate it.

tbh im most likely going to lie regarding the dog and the hb. As awful as that makes me seem..... my dog is old, hes unlikely to be alive this time next year. hes never chewed or eaten anything, he just sleeps. And if its a choice between lying and putting a roof over my childs head, or ending up in a B&B while i wait for the council to house me ( which is my only other option) then i know what ill do.

hatesponge · 06/11/2012 17:05

watch I wouldnt normally advocate lying about these things BUT in your position I'd do exactly the same.

KirstyWirsty · 06/11/2012 17:13

How do I block someone on POF?

MadameOvary · 06/11/2012 17:14

Watch So sorry to hear this, absolute fuckers to do it at this time of the year. Hope Sponge's suggestions work for you.
Yoga I did see the Engineer's profile. I quite liked it!

bantamrooster · 06/11/2012 17:29

... and there's the reply from Safrican. I never knew texts could be so long. Shit and buggeration.

I'm not sure if it's something she wrote or lyrics from a Cure song. She knows how to write a guilt trip, if nothing else

Yogagirl17 · 06/11/2012 17:44

Kirsty go to the message they've sent you and scroll down to the bottom right - you should see "block user" - this will be your friend. Smile

Bantam uh oh, what's she saying? Just remember you've done nothing wrong.

FateLovesTheFearless · 06/11/2012 17:44

Watch - would you not be better to go down the council route? It's about as secure as it gets rental wise and d dog wouldn't be a problem. I know the whole stigma with counsel housing etc and the areas are never the greatest, but there are some pros too. If I ever had to leave my brothers house (rent from him it's not free!) I would take that route in the short term.

OneMoreGo · 06/11/2012 17:45

Oh blimey bant, what did she say? Is she actually guilt-tripping you or is she just sad and you feel bad? Hopefully she'll get over it :)

hatesponge · 06/11/2012 18:16

LC can't do tomorrow. And he hasn't suggested an alternative.

I am :( :(

lubeybooby · 06/11/2012 18:27

sponge don't be :( that really doesn't mean anything at this stage! Keep basking in the glow of date two for now

OP posts:
MacAndCheese · 06/11/2012 18:31

Don't worry Sponge Smile

faintheartneverwonfairdate · 06/11/2012 18:31

Watch shit timing too by your landlord. Is there any chance you could negotiate a longer stay/ I realise it just delays things but may give you more of a chance to find somewhere.

Bantam is it bad enough to hide your pets? You have been honourable here, just remember she was never going to take it well.

Slightly I couldn't be doing with not knowing where I'm going, being advised how to dress. Unless it's something radical that really would be a surprise, book something as the surprise, tell me where and let me decide what to wear. Good advice up thread to test the waters by saying something and see how he reacts.

Sponge your man has absolutely no idea he has the full expectations of MN on his arse Grin

faintheartneverwonfairdate · 06/11/2012 18:32

Sponge, crossed post there, he is probably trying to sort something out for an alternative.

hatesponge · 06/11/2012 18:33

We have no plans to see each other again. I can't keep suggesting stuff, if he wanted to see me he'd say so surely?

Can't believe I didn't even manage a week of being happy.

lubeybooby · 06/11/2012 18:37

bantam yikes at the safrican.

I've dumped and been dumped after two dates before and I never reply anything more than 'ok thanks for a nice time' or even no reply at all, it's just not needed and makes you (her, that is, on this occasion) look a prat

Take no notice :)

OP posts:
lubeybooby · 06/11/2012 18:39

sponge stop catastrophising (or whatever the word is)

There's no massive hurry, and having the next date sorted out so soon is really rare in my experience. Relax!

OP posts:
bantamrooster · 06/11/2012 18:45

Sponge, it's normal to not necessarily arrange the next date straightaway. Relax, the two of you get on well together. Over stressing isn't going to do any good. If you haven't heard from him after a certain amount of time (advice here everyone?) then give him a buzz and suggest date 3. All casual like. Don't assume he doesn't want a 3rd one until he says so or disappears for days and days. Enjoy the buzz of date #2

hatesponge · 06/11/2012 18:48

We arranged date 2 the day after date 1.

We both said that 5 days between 1 and 2 seemed ages. Last night he wanted to see me again as soon as possible...

I entirely understand he may have plans tomorrow, that's not a problem. It's more the fact of him not suggesting an alternative, or even asking when I'm free next, that has unsettled me.

faintheartneverwonfairdate · 06/11/2012 18:50

Sponge just wait and see. You have probably built tomorrow up more as you had made arrangements, you then asked him and also because coffee may have been on the agenda. You know the drill, sit on your hands and try not to overthink it.

Yogagirl17 · 06/11/2012 18:55

sponge - honestly, just because he hasn't immediately suggested an alternative does not mean he doesn't want to see you again. Relax, give it a few days, just keep in touch and be chatty and see what happens. And in the mean time, enjoy that you had a lovely date no 2. It's all good. Smile

lulubellaboozle · 06/11/2012 19:00

Sponge - I do know where you are coming from, it's the uncertainty, if you had a date fixed then you can quietly fizz and buzz in the anticipation. But he is a .... MAN, and therefore I really do believe like everyone else, it doesn't really mean anything other than he told you he can't make tomorrow because he can't and very soon he will be thinking about fixing the next date and your smiley faces will be back Wink
