My pantry is now full of Heinz cheese ravioli and Tesco sausage and beans.

Chilli con carne with a dollop of crunchy peanut butter ? Well now I've heard everything.

Or rather, chilli NON carne (am veggie too) with peanut butter stirred in. And sour cream on top if you can get it :)

Hope you're having a good time at the BBQ and initial awkwardness gets dealt with speedily by friendly neighbours.

I've been pondering this peanut butter addition and actually it sounds like it could be rather nice. I'm not entirely sure why though... I will give it a bash next time I make a chilli.

Babylon - I think you will find the veggie reference was in relation to eating chilli. Nothing to do with BBQs...

I certainly go to BBQs - but offer to take something with me to eat!

This makes me think about what is the best kind of veggie chilli recipe. Personally I prefer one without any veggie mince in it but I know that is not everyone's taste.

Oh and peanut/peanut butter is lovely on some veggie stews

I could never be a veggie, I love meat way too much; bloody steaks and hot sausage baps smothered in brown sauce, heaven!

I like a good chilli with no vege mince in - just nice beans.

I like a good chilli any which way. However kidney beans are the work of the devil and I will not entertain them in my chilli.

Frank how is it a chilli if it has no kidney beans in it? Tell me you are one of the Philistines who puts baked beans in a chilli?
