Forget the olympics...we're aiming for dating gold.

Only the best is good enough.

As you were....:)

Grin That could be your username 'PatMeDown'

Sweating like a pig is not a good look Grin But hey, who cares, you are at the Olympics!! And how great that your kids won the tickets, that's fab!! And you got a lift!! Grin

snapespeare · 25/07/2012 21:39

Brief dash by, spent afternoon at gym with pm, he's invited himself up with some beers as he's away this weekend. It's really lovely when he's spent 7 hours with me and wants to continue. :). Really chuffed he's my friend.

HauntedLittleLunatic · 25/07/2012 22:09

Hmm...think that may attract the wrong sort of date....seriously though what sort of thing should I be going for? I saw a website suggesting making a list of things to describe yourself and then a list of things you enjoy and try combinging something from each list....in that case I could end up as BoringBlossomHillBabe...not sure that's what I am looking for.

P.S. I am sat in car next to xp chuckling away as tho I have amusing texts coming in so humour me...you lot are def better than making polite conversation with him...don't think we have spent more than 20mins together since we split and conversation is running very dry...

TimeForMeAndDD · 25/07/2012 22:27

That's lovely Snape, I'm chuffed that PM is your friend too Smile

Haunted One of my old usernames was Ladyinwaiting. Because I am a lady and I am in waiting, of a nice man to come my way. Something along those lines perhaps? Or WomanWanting, or MatingMaiden perhaps Grin

Oh, and don't feel obliged to talk to The Ex, you don't owe him anything. Just enjoy the silence Smile

HauntedLittleLunatic · 25/07/2012 22:49

It was fine...i paid at Burger King "Because there are more of us" making it clear that the DCs are 'part of me' and not part of him if that makes sense. Don't think he liked that...and then paid his way.

Little things...am home now and heading to bed.

MyLittleMiracles · 26/07/2012 00:57

I am just going to bed, tomorrow night will be my last night sharing with little man, he can go back to his own room then. Grin

Girly · 26/07/2012 07:21

Just saw the funniest profile on pof, looks like a woman getting her revenge! Bikerboy6969 check him out! One to add to the don't touch with a bargepole list I think ladies

Girly · 26/07/2012 07:38

Actually, having read it again, it's not funny, poor woman!

MrsToddNeeLovett · 26/07/2012 07:50

Wow he sounds a catch doesn't he? hands off girls, he's mine Grin

Girly · 26/07/2012 07:59

You can have him! I think I might pass Grin

MyLittleMiracles · 26/07/2012 10:46

And I have quit internet dating. Might return if nothing comes of date three. After five dates I will name him, not til then.

SerendipitousHarlot · 26/07/2012 11:11

When did you have the second date MLM?

MsCellophane · 26/07/2012 11:19

I got stuck on the sofa for a few weeks but have been reading. Decided to have a little break as I have so little time for meeting people, not managed to meet up with hotbutdim either

Girly, I got a meetme from that one, didn't read the profile - someone's very upset with him

Watch, I think after a couple of months of seeing someone is when the niggles make an appearance. I think as long as you point out the small issues you have and he looks to rectify them, then it's worth continuing.

MLM - is this the one that stayed over a few weeks back? You appear to have done again what we all said don't do. You have jumped in. Why do you have to be in a relationship?

MyLittleMiracles · 26/07/2012 11:39

No someone I have known for a long time. I am not jumping in and he hasn't stayed, admittedly last time he didn't leave til about 1 in the morning, but its good. He drives home, we just chat, giggle and cuddle up with the shit on Tele I am just enjoying our cuddles and giggles. The only person staying at mine would be my closest friend who is like a sister.

Scattylatte · 26/07/2012 11:46

Morning.
mr coffee has vanished. not bothered.
mlm i think you need to look beyond the instant gratification of the cuddles.

Something similar to snapes horror happened to me. emailing bloke from pof. arranged to meet. it was a morning date. he parked next to me and looked at me. he then drove off

snapespeare · 26/07/2012 11:52

scatty. Socially inept, lucky escape, the fact that anyone could believe this is acceptable behaviour is beyond me.

MyLittleMiracles · 26/07/2012 12:04

The way I see it, if nothing more happens I am really great with that, if it does, well there is no rush. Just good to chat giggle and hug. And at least I am not jumping into bed with him, or anyone else apart from my eeyore

mercury7 · 26/07/2012 12:55

scatty that is APPALLING!
Did you get a look @ him?
I mean he probably wasnt some brad pitt lookalike??

Scattylatte · 26/07/2012 14:09

Merc7. I know. I was more confused than anything because this was back in the day when I thought people were polite. Now I know different.
He had said he was doing business in a town nearby me in the morning. So that's we're we arranged to meet. I was early and I had a couple of texts saying he was running a bit late. Described car. Anyway, a car matching pulled up and the driver looked like him. He did see me. He then got out, poster a letter and got back in and drove off.
I was furious. I text him 'twat' and he wrote back 'I'm shy'. How weird is that?
I very quickly wised up to the fact that Internet dating does not mean people will in any way abide by the rules of politeness and conduct.

It put me off for some time.
I'm ok now.

Scattylatte · 26/07/2012 14:10

He looked average. Similar to his pictures. As do I.

Lueji · 26/07/2012 14:28

Quick update.
On holiday and with internet issues. Thank god for macD.:)

Sadly Mr VN and I will be apart for 2 weeks.:(

MyLittleMiracles · 26/07/2012 14:50

God, there is being shy and then there is being just plain rude. I used to be painfully shy, but I would always say hi, and then conversation starts from there.

mercury7 · 26/07/2012 16:20

It sounds like he kinda lost his bottle Scatty, even so what a silly time-waster of a bloke!

Movingforward123 · 26/07/2012 20:18

hey everyone, I'm looking for some advice, my sister has been trying to set me up with her next door neighbours brother. there has been talk about it for a while, and my sister gave my number to the poteitial dates brother to pass on. the guy didnt call or text but apparently he is very shy. aslo we had never met, but I had seen pictures of him and he saw me through the window Grin

anyway, a couple of days ago I was at my sisters and the potential date went into the garden to hang his washing out. my neice dragged me outside and pushed me over to the gate saying "here he is" Blush

I was embarressed so said "oh hi there, just thought I would say hi as my neices are trying to set me up with you, blah blah blah.... anyway he laughed and then went off upstairs again.

his brother said he was embarassed... anyway later he came down to chat, and when he was leaving said "see you later babe" and then his brother started taking the piss when he left...

So what I wanted to ask was, do you think I should message him on facebook and say "hi sorry if I embarassed you the other day...." just to start a conversation????

Or will that look desperate??? Hmm I cant decide...

AndLibbyMakesThree · 26/07/2012 20:29

Movingforward - did you like him? Are you interested in getting to know him better? I'm a bit torn - part of me thinks that if he's interested, he'll find a way to contact you, and another part of me thinks why should it always be the man who takes the initiative?

I've got a possible first date on Saturday - not confirmed yet as he's expecting a delivery that day (or possibly hoping something better might come along, who knows?) He sounds nice, though our messages have been mainly about home improvements so far, not exactly scintillating. However, I've had wonderful e-mail exchanges with men before, then when I've met them there's been no spark, so hoping it might be the other way round with this one.
