One Night Stands - have you ever?

KarmaK · 26/03/2012 15:34

Have you ever had a One Night Stand? I don't mean a one-nighter with somebody you're already friends with etc. But have you ever gone out to a club, bar or wherever, met a complete and utter stranger and gone home with him and shagged him?

I've never had the bottle to do this. Not sure I've even really had the desire to do it.

Yes I have. Usually when I was feeling rather broken and insecure. Oh, and pissed of course Blush

Winkly · 26/03/2012 17:19

A huge number of threads on this board show that violent & abusive people can put on a nice normal front for as long as necessary until they get the woman home/ moved in/pregnant/whatever.

SardineQueen · 26/03/2012 17:21

Yes, sure, lots Grin

I don't get the "he might be an axe murderer" thing. He almost certainly won't be! I never had any trouble anyway. Obviously wouldn't go off with someone who set off the old spidey sense though. I suppose my view has always been that bad stuff can happen, and you can never really tell who is which or what, really it' just a matter of luck, so you might as well enjoy yourself and not stress about it.

Shakey1500 · 26/03/2012 17:22

Yes, many times in my late teens/early twenties. It was before anyone had heard of HIV/Aids. At the time though, I used to think sex=he'll ring me etc.

AllShiney · 26/03/2012 17:23

Once.

I hated myself in the morning :(

It was a rare heavy night for me and a friend was 'into' his friend. We'd met them in a bar and went back to the parents house of one of them.

The whole thing left me feeling dirty and shocked with myself and haven't drank that much again.

The house was quite far away and in the morning they offered to take us home but when we got to my road, they demanded petrol money from us! It was truly horrible!

biglips · 26/03/2012 17:23

no, never as its not my thing.

Gay40 · 26/03/2012 17:27

Yes, a fair old few when I was single. Never really had a bad experience unless you count the women that wanted to get married the next morning ffs

azazello · 26/03/2012 17:28

Yes, but I was a student ( as were they) so it was always back to very full shared houses so the personal safety thing just didn't bother me. I've had 3 completely random ones (one amazing, one awful and one I know happened but can't remember anything aboutBlush). I mostly wish I had enjoyed them a but more rather than worrying that I was A Bad Person.

Astr0naut · 26/03/2012 17:29

Yep. Did a few when getting over quite a traumatic relationship. I think I was trying to re-build my self-esteem.

It worked for me; Dh was a one-night stand. Not that I'll be letting dd that...

oiwheresthecoffee · 26/03/2012 17:33

Quite a few. Never bothered me, i enjoyed them too.

Yes this is true. But just because somebody you've known a while might turn out to be dangerous, it doesn't mean that going home with a total stranger is ever a good or safe idea.

That's why I've never understood people who say that going home with a stranger is fine because the man you take the time to get to know could just as likely be a psycho in disguise himself. That's kind of like saying you might as well just run blindly into a busy road because it's entirely possible a car could run you down even if you wait for the green light or stay on the pavement.

badgeroncaffeine · 26/03/2012 17:35

Yes, a few down the years. But only when an exceptionally sexy partner came along..! Getting rarer now lol

snuffaluffagus · 26/03/2012 17:37

Yep a few, all good fun!

Never going home with them gets round a lot of potential danger, especially if bringing them back to yours means meeting your flatmates!

signet2012 · 26/03/2012 17:54

I have a friend who is in her 30's and does so regularly though. She like sex. She hates relationships.

Works for her although she does normally text me to let me know she is ok at daft oclock in the morning

I don't think she is immoral but I do worry for her safety sometimes, especially when she is always very drunk.

KatieScarlett2833 · 26/03/2012 17:57

One on holiday in Shagaluf when I was young. Had never had one so decided to choose a victim and go for it.

It was OK, just OK.

Never felt the need to repeat the experience.

AnyFucker · 26/03/2012 17:58

yeah

FruitShootsAndHeaves · 26/03/2012 17:59

No

wish I had though
might have left me not quite so messed up Sad

ifancyashandy · 26/03/2012 18:01

Yup. Many. And the last was a couple of months ago. Am over 35 & single.

They are what they are - a meaningless but good fun shag.

KarmaK · 26/03/2012 18:05

I've actually heard it's normal for people to shag in the nightclub itself now. On the dance-floor or in the bogs. Friend of mine claims she saw a couple having shagging on the dance-floor a couple of weekends ago.

Yeah, just once, he came back to my uni halls. It was crap sex.

badgeroncaffeine · 26/03/2012 18:10

The gym is the best place to find them...not a club.

In the heavy weights area...lol
