How did you meet your OH

Just wondered really, I haven't met anyone yet, and having 2 young ones I don't think it is really going to happen for me. I do miss having cuddles on the sofa, slobbing out and just being comfy with someone.

I met my oh in benidorm i was on a girls holiday and he was with his mates i asked if he had a girlfriend the rest is history. 9 years later we are still together.

I met my OH at work :) We had worked together for 2 years (diff depts, same company) and knew each other but weren't friendly as such. I dragged myself out of my abusive relationship six months previously and was regaining myself. He had actually looked after me on one night out when I had turned up in a mess after a row with my then P (nothing happened, just genuine concern/comfort/cocktails Grin ). Eventually we got to talking and got together. That was 7 years ago. We have a lovely 4 year old DS now and have been married for 3 years (You do the math, yes we were "naughty" Wink )

We met out clubbing.

Most of my friends have either met their partners through mutual friends, on a night out or at work.

At church.

At a wine tasting evening. He worked with my Mum and she didn't want to go to this work event on her own, so I was her date! That was nearly eight years ago. I nearly cried off as well, which goes to show you should never turn down an invitation (or free wine).

Ragwort · 08/02/2012 14:30

scrooge - me too, Grin - are you still in Scouting?

Francagoestohollywood · 08/02/2012 14:32

In London, in a chinese restaurant. Through friends.

Petrean · 08/02/2012 14:34

Met at 18 during a classical physics lecture at university, engaged at 29, married at 31, DS at 32. Smile

You'll meet someone I'm sure, when you least expect it. I think people often meet at work.

WhereMyMilk · 08/02/2012 14:49

At work...

AmazingBouncingFerret · 08/02/2012 14:52

I was kicking everyone's arse playing pool in my local. DH tried to knock me off the table (not literally because that would of been rather violent and not at all nice) and I gave him my last cigarette.

That is how I tell it... DH reckons he knew me earlier than that because I briefly went out with his best mate...

lou33 · 08/02/2012 15:40

Online though not on a dating site (though i have had some enjoyable dates from those)

Our first date was just before Xmas 2009.

My children are older, but he was and always has been unphased by the fact I have 4 of them and they love him , as he does them, so you may well find someone in time. Funnily enough i met my bf at a time when I was v happy being single and ok with the idea of staying that way long term.

technoduck · 08/02/2012 15:43

Kayano · 08/02/2012 15:43

He stole my morning shift in McDonald's when he was 16 and told the manager he could be in 15 Minutes before me. Angry

So I got in earlier than him and manager gave us the same shifts. We went our seperate ways (uni/ career) but met each other a few years later and he asked me out. Grin

scroogemcduck · 08/02/2012 15:51

Ragwort, yy, still in Scouts, volunteer when I get chance Grin

usualsuspect · 08/02/2012 15:52

In the pub

TwllBach · 08/02/2012 15:57

My first night out at uni - I got drunk and separated from the group and the peer guide and wandered around aimlessly asking people if they were freshers. I sat next to him and his cousin who were locals and chatted to them until closing time where I promptly started to cry because "I don't know where I live!" He walked me home, missed the last train and slept on my floor. Six years later and we are getting married soon and haven't been apart for more than about 20 days, non consecutively.

mustdash · 08/02/2012 15:59
