Trying for baby...DP on dating website

I have been with my DP for 6 years and we have been trying for a baby for the past 9 months with no success.

I was really down about it yesterday after finding out yet another work colleague is pregnant and she was on the pill and not even trying. DP tried to reassure me it will be our time soon, we will go to the doctors if things don't happen naturally blah blah blah.

Just now he was on the laptop and I have come on after him and noticed he is still logged in to his email account. Curiosity got the better of me and I took a quick look.

Every email in the inbox is from me apart from one which contains login details for a dating website. I logged in and he has put in loads of details about himself and said he is looking for someone to spend his life with.

what the actual fuck is going on?
I feel like my world has been crushed. Please help.

OP that is so awful.

You deserve better.

I had a friend who had the prescription for fertility drugs in her bag when she found out her DH had been cheating after meeting someone online. He said he was too afraid to tell her that he wasn't ready for a family after 8 years together.

I told her to leave the bastard. I suggest that you do the same.

but he is the one that suggested we try for a baby! I wanted to a couple of years ago and he said he wasn't ready. He brought it up this time and we started trying.

How can you possibly have misinterpreted this? He is on a dating site. DUMP THE CHUMP. Thank Christ you don't have children with him. You can dump him and never see him again.

Also, having been with him for six years is no resin to put up with his shit. That's just compounding the problem if you think you have to stay to validate the time already spent.

Pilgrimsoul, nice one! Grin

Don't confuse him initiating the ttc as commitment to you. A work colleague of mine's partner went through IVF with her and left her whilst pregnant. His reason? He said he knew she really wanted a baby so thought he'd let her have one with him so she wouldn't be alone when he left.

Don't waste any more time on this loser. He will never change.

there isnt much going back from this my exH did the same thing and after i had confronted him the first time he just got sneakier and sneakier, if its match .com there should be a button top left which says e mails if you are in his profile you should be able to access sent and received messages on the site that way,

Whilst the Internet has brought the world many blessings, it has also made it so easy for deceit to go on within relationships. I feel so sad for you but 6 years isn't that long in the grand scheme of life. This act by my own darling would be an immediate deal breaker for me.

Thunderthighs - of course there's enough evidence for us to know he's up to nkow good but as the Op has said herself he's very good at bullshitting his way out. Also if she waits a little longer she'll have come to terms with this a little more, feel little less shell shocked and more ready to take him on.

brandrethmupp · 10/01/2012 23:43

or perhaps no good

WitchOfEndor · 11/01/2012 07:24

I'm really sorry this is happening to you Sad but I think he is seeing what is out there and if he likes what he sees he will upgrade his account. It's a matter of time. Definitely put the ttc on hold, you need to get enough evidence to satisfy yourself (and ensure he can't talk himself out of this) How much this is depends on you as a person, there would already be enough for me to know.
