Please forgive this self-indulgent thread, it is only my second in several years, so I am owed one I think

A thread I was on last night made me finally realise that the ridiculously-ballsy caricature of a reputation that goes before
this name was devaluing the message I was trying to convey. It was the gaslighting one, FWIW, but this isn't really about that.

I am not going anywhere, I love MN too much but AF has to go

Just wanted to get it off my chest, and hopefully stop the "where is AF" speculation that sometimes can go along with a prolific poster suddenly stopping posting.

Well, I'm another who will miss you. You helped me (when I went by another name) and gave me the benefit of your time, energy and wisdom. I will always be grateful. I'm disgusting myself with my cheesiness but it is true.

I didn't exactly do what you advised (!), but you gave me the courage to see things for what they were and to stay sane in my interpretation of what was going on.

When my sneaky brain started to say things like 'it's only those arch-feminist types on mumsnet who think like that - don't most women just suck it up?' I looked around on the bus and thought, no - AF could be anyone here - literally any fucker - any ordinary woman. It's not an unusual or radical point of view.

I know that is overanalytical - but hey that's my thing!
