How would you feel about this?

We've been invited to a wedding. DP is going to DJ for a bit - when he mentioned this this morning I said 'ohhh, I hate that - it means I'm going to be on my own for hours'. I didn't get really upset about it just said it in a normal voice. I'll only know 2 people and the bride and groom and I don't know those 4 people very well so...... Anyway DP's instant reaction was to say 'don't come then I'll take X', a mutual friend to him and groom etc. I replied that I knew when it came to it I'd be fine but if he'd rather take his friend then... and he didn't argue with that just said 'well do you want to go or not'. I told him it was his decision who he chooses to take, (even though the invite is to the 2 of us and our DD). Anyway just spoke to him about something just now and he said again 'so do you want to come'! I'm feeling really peed off about this as it would seem to me that he'd rather take his mate, as he bought it up so quickly as soon as he saw a window of opportunity (me saying I wasn't over the moon at the being on my own while he DJ'd) and has bought it up again, even though I've never said I didn't want to go.
Sorry - I know this is rambled and a rant - but would you be upset / angry that your DP /DH very much seemed to want to take a friend to a wedding rather than you. I personally think it's a bit outrageous and thought that's what stag nights were for.
Once again I call upon Mumsnetters to either help me see reason and calm me down or confirm that my DP is being a b@5t@rd!

I live in longwood florida, USA 40 minutes north of Disney territory. I found this site last weekend while searching for weetabix recipes--I haven't been able to get off of it! I have never chatted before in my life, I always thought it was kind of scary and repulsive, like I was asking to murdered and what are friends for anyway? I just can't believe how much fun it is!

CountessDracula · 11/09/2003 17:13

Sunchowder, Jules is my brother and Thomcat's dh doesn't know him but he knows of him. WSM would like to tickle his beard. It's very simple

You can buy it on amazon if u like it!

He is now in Underwolves if you like that sort of music. Under Your Sky (1st Album) is on Amazon but they have a new album coming out soon. Muki are no longer but he still gets cash from it I guess.

sunchowder · 11/09/2003 17:18

Excellent! Thanks, I will go on Amazon then, I am sure the shipping rate would be much better. So nice to have a talented brother.

ThomCat · 11/09/2003 17:47

Sunchowder - how true, you really made me laugh - I thought chatting on the web was for weirdo freeks who pretended they were cool and had no 'real' friends. Found this site by accident setting up a promotion on their homepage and have been addicted ever since! Great isn't it!
How amny kids have you got and did you find a good weetabix recipes?

ThomCat, I have three kids, one that I extruded myself on May 23, 1994 (daughter Rachel age 9) and two wonderful step boys Jon (18) and Paul (13). I married a Brit 10 years ago and have become a weetibix lover among other things (Creamy tomato Soup)I packed 5 huge cans of it under that 12 pound dairy milk bar (thank god my luggage was not searched!)on our last visit. We were there right before EasterI walked around Woolworth's like the bride of Frankinstein staring at all of those EGGS--DH was loosing his patience with me for sure! Over here we have bunnies, but not a fabulous selection of eggs as you do! Coddy and Soupdragon were good enough to get me to the Weetabix website which I still can't figure out how my US Google didn't get me there on it's own, but now that is history...and I made some delish Weetabix bar type biscuits for the kids to take with lunch. Happy ending!

fio2 · 11/09/2003 18:52

Just came back to this thread and sorry Sambo but I thought CountessDracula was a troll

CountessDracula · 11/09/2003 18:56

Oh no! I did put a name change thread on. Don't want to be thought of as a troll when am a vampire.

wickedstepmother · 12/09/2003 09:47

LOL, what made sunchowder think that I was TC's evil twin / alter-ego ????

fio2 · 12/09/2003 09:58

Actually I can see why sunchowder got confused because Countess dracula really threw me

wickedstepmother · 12/09/2003 10:06

But further down the thread TC refers to both me and 'The artist formerly known as SamboM' . Perhaps she thinks TC is a schizophrenic ?!

CountessDracula · 12/09/2003 10:09

Thomcat if your shoes are size 4 and you are 36DD do you fall over a lot?c

wickedstepmother · 12/09/2003 10:10
Grin
CountessDracula · 12/09/2003 10:12

WSM go and get ready!

RushingAround · 12/09/2003 10:52

OMG have had such fun reading this thread, but they must be wondering in the office why I'm laughing when I should be working Was a bit concerned someone wld peer over my shoulder and ask who's my friend who's just got married...?

motherinferior · 12/09/2003 11:09

Listen, your vampship, I'm a 34F at the moment - USUALLY a DD - and my feet are size 3. And I only fall over when too much booze is involved

Rhubarb · 12/09/2003 12:17

Oh stop bragging about your bust size you lot!

Signed: a very jealous 32B even though I'm preggers!

sunchowder · 12/09/2003 14:08

I don't know how I actually thought that maybe Thomcat was the wicked stepmother...Ithink it might have happened while I was jumping from thread to thread, answering my phone and trying to read my email at the same time. I have so many back-to-back meetings today, I need to curb my new chatting problem. And about breasts....gravity, oh I hate gravity.....mine are looking a bit cross-eyed at 46, it is a sad thing indeed.

emsiewill · 14/09/2003 17:48

OMG! Thought I would google dh's name, as his mother actually misspelt it when registering him, and as far as I know there is no-one else in the world with it.
And the first site that came up was the BBC Wales site with a quote from him!!!
How exciting.
Looking further down the list, there's also reference to him re a licence application for his work.
And there is a "melody rock/metal band from Jyväskylä, Finland" with his name.
Whereas my name is so common that there were millions of matches, none of which refer to me.

Enjoying this thread ... especially the falling over bit for big boobed small footed mumsnetters
I am glad I found it ... have seen sunchowder on a couple of other threads and thought she was someone who had changed her name ... but no, a new mumsnet addict ... Welcome to you Sunchowder ... I am posting from NZ so really the sun never sets on Mumsnet does it? Oh how I miss Weet-a-bix ... here we have a poor substitute called 'Weetbix' which is like cardboard ... eeeeewwww ....
Glad to have found out who Countess Dracula was too ...
Still trying to work out who your FIL is TC but I daren't push it in case you run away!!!

CountessDracula · 15/09/2003 09:51

bloss is your maiden name Nut?

marthamoo · 15/09/2003 10:12

Ghosty,

I can't figure out who ThomCats's FIL is either (or her dp for that matter)..so don't worry TC, your identity is completely safe with Googlevirgins like me. I can't figure out what I'm supposed to put in to get the low down on the almost famous DJ-ing dp

Damn, I was hoping to be famous by association there.
