Hello and a Happy New Year!

I'm Mouse, one of the passengers on this wonderful journey to sobriety! Smile

We are a real mixed bunch of people, all trying to control or give up the booze - ONE DAY AT A TIME.

Come meet the others.........

And here are the previous threads, the journeys so far

Hi all, I just thread a thread that said that most New Years Dieters give up their resolve on the 13th Jan at 7.00pm - now I know we are not dieting but maybe the same thing happened with our drinking resolve and that's why a few had wobbles last night? Grin

So with this in mind the wobble is over and we have still kept on with the New Year's resolve so tonight will be a walk in the park as will tomorrow :)

Glad to hear you are feeling brighter JWN!

Ma - I would be over the moon with devotion if my DD made me cookies, what a special little boy

Spamspamspam · 14/01/2011 12:27

Duh...."read a thread"

Zanywany · 14/01/2011 13:36

Where has everyone gone. I'm at work and bored........

Mouseface · 14/01/2011 14:16

Hello all.

I took my profile off because of the EE threads and trolls we'd had on them causing trouble.

I will put it back now, hope you are all okay, meeting went very well. Will catch up and come back.

Anon - Nemo is 20 months, and has lots of 'Complex Needs'. He's my little hero and holds my heart in his hands. Smile

zany I am about - just very hectic today. How are you doing?

RedMoomin · 14/01/2011 14:17

mouse hello! Glad the meeting went well x

Zanywany · 14/01/2011 14:20

I am good but gearing myself up for a scare fest later. My friend (single guy beut definately just friends) is coming round later for a bite to eat and we are going to watch a scary movie. Don't know why I do this to myself, love horror films but will be awake most of the night Grin.

Zanywany · 14/01/2011 14:21

Note to self - You wouldn't be bored if you just got on with your mountain of work!!!

RedMoomin · 14/01/2011 14:24

zany sounds like you have a good evening planned!

Rubyredlips · 14/01/2011 14:52

Hi babes.
Happy Birthday Ma and Mouse
Hope you enjoy your birthdays (and the cookies - Ma)

Just having 5 mins from DC's. Love 'em to bits but blimey I'm knackered!

Oh no DD has woken up will go and get her.
Lots of love x

dementedma · 14/01/2011 16:20

Ds is a demon baker. last week was chocolate and vanilla marbled loaf and the week before apple and cinammon muffins. does it all on his own too, apart from the occasional call for help when he's stuck with quantities and our wonky scales. think I'll buy him his own set for his birthday. Grin
Double choc chip cookie anyone?

Anonymousbird · 14/01/2011 17:11

Don't mind if I do...

Delicious, flippin 'ec, stand aside Nigel, Jamie and you other little upstarts, Ma's boy is here! Ma - I watched the "Toast" programme, assume you did, one of the best things I have seen in ages.

Right, it's Friday, I am allowed a couple of drinks tonight, nothing before at least 8 though and need to be fully operational tomorrow - on parade at 8.30am, so need to be very sensible...

Mouseface · 14/01/2011 17:31

Hey bird

Did you see I've re-opened my profile? Smile

What are you planning on drinking tonight?

I'm on 2 glasses of white later, it is my birthday after all! Grin

OP posts:
Anonymousbird · 14/01/2011 17:39

Oh, he is adorable, I think I'm in love with him too!! What a sweetheart.

And your DD is beautiful!

Bit of chilled white for me, mouth going a bit dry at the thought! Cheers for your birthday (sometime just after 8????)

Right, must go feed the monkeys before I have a full scale riot on my hands.....

Good evening all.

Zanywany · 14/01/2011 17:43

Right rant coming up I'm afraid

Rant no. 1 - just seen neighbour and his awful lovely girlfriend. Didn't even realised it was him at first. Am sure he looked bored Grin

Rant no 2 - bloody XH. I just asked if he would contribute towards DC's guitar lessons, gymnastics & expensive informative school trip (£260 worth) as I am struggling to afford it. Once again I got that stupid blank look with a promise to 'look into it' He does pay maintenance but the minumum at only £35 per week per child. Annoyed as he turns up in designer clothes, has 2 lap tops, latest flat screen TV, brand new car etc and then has the cheek to question me about taking them to a festival in the summer which will probably be the total of my summer holiday this year.

Sorry, as you were rant over

Rubyredlips · 14/01/2011 17:45

enjoy your drinks Anon and Mouse.

I'm determined to not drink for Jan and I'm still on my diet. I haven't cheated once. Chuffed with myself, although very nearly ate half a flake this afternoon but managed to refrain. Grin

Rubyredlips · 14/01/2011 17:59

Zany Grin at your neighbour looking bored. Angry for you with xh thinking about himself. Must be really hard dealing with that.

Rant from me
I'm convinced my dh goes out of his way to avoid bathtime

Mouse I can't see your profile cos I'm on my phone and it's too difficult. I will have a look when I get on the laptop Smile

Mouseface · 14/01/2011 18:05

He really squidgy bird - I'm addicted to him Grin thank you x

Zany - FFS, your Xh is a twat. Sorry, just how I see it. I have to say that £35 per week, per child is actually more than most people I know.

XP pays £100 per month for DD, under protest I may add. BUT he does buy school shoes, coat, bag for her and splits the cost that way.

Most blokes get away with £5 per week per child which is the CSA minimum if you are a low income/no income.

By driving a new car, wearing designer clothes, having laptops and the latest tv etc, he's rubbing your nose in it.

I should imagine that he didn't buy them outright and he's maxed up to his eyeballs in debt on credit cards!

If not, imagine that he is to give yourself a little lift. Grin

Re NG - if 'she' is back in his life, then maybe it's something he has to get out of his system? Maybe she's needy and lands a guilt trip on him, he gets played and round they go in circles?

Just thinking out loud.

Ruby - hello lovely, so sorry that I've not said hi to you for ages! I am rubbish.

How are you doing and feeling? How are the evenings for you? Smile

venusandmarzipan · 14/01/2011 18:39

Hello all - dropping in quickly to say...

Happy Birthday to dementedma - your son sounds wonderful, have a very happy and cakey evening.

Happy Birthday to mouseface* - relax and have a wonderful sleep tonight.

thursomuchtolookforwardto · 14/01/2011 18:45

Waah, really busy day.

Back from school run, dinner on table for DH and DC (couldn't face it myself, after making it, meatballs uurgh).

Rubyred just had a giggle when I computed that it isn't DH's own bathtime that he dodges Grin

Mouse
It's your Birthday Happy Birthday (if you ever watch The Simpsons!)
College was a nightmare today, will have to stay up all night every night, if I want to fit this qualification in with work, as well .

Have a lovely night babes,
back in a bit.

Mouseface · 14/01/2011 19:06

Grin thanks thurso

OP posts:
Rubyredlips · 14/01/2011 19:12

Ha Ha Thurso now that would be a problem Grin. What you studying? I'm impressed.

Mouse I'm good thanks. Are you better? Sorry lost track. Evenings are ok for me at the moment. I just bloody hope I lose weight or I'll be livid Grin

Mouseface · 14/01/2011 19:15

Ruby - as long as you aren't eating your own body weight in cake, you'll be grand re the weight! Grin

OP posts:
Zanywany · 14/01/2011 19:26

Have to admit I laughted at the too Ruby had visions of DH pretending he was washing himself when he was really just running the tap Grin

I should count myself lucky really Mouse as I know lots of single parents get nothing, we both had to declare our financial situation and he has no credit cards, money from his parenst and hundreds in savings and yet he won't give the DC's a pound for wear what you like day at school as its my responsibility. Sorry rant over.

Hope Mouse and Ma are having a lovely birthday, DS's cookies sound lovely, a very thoughtful gift, you are very lucky Grin

RubY o try and tackle one thing at a time, thats what I tell myself when I reach for the chocolate

thursomuchtolookforwardto · 14/01/2011 20:02

Well, washed up, DC studying (on the xbox!), and Dh watching bloody fishing programme, I am up for a bath, and then going to watch "The Talented Mr Ripley" on TV. Quite a scary film, I always thought, but then I am a wuss!

Rubyred can't tell you really, as it would be very un-professional, and don't want to alienate anyone, in view of what I've admitted to on here Smile.

See you all later. xx
