Hello, I'm Mouse. Smile

Welcome to the Brave Babes Bus. You can get on at any point in the journey, there is plenty of room, it's free to ride and there is always someone who will be along to hold your hand over the speedbumps!

So, no matter where you are in your quest to quit the booze, join us for support, advice and a fair few laughs along the way Grin

There is no judging, no cliques, just real poster with real problems being real and honest!

Come and meet the others.....

Here is the previous thread where you can read all of the threads so far, including JWN's original thread and the reason we are all here.

RedDevilMoomin · 05/11/2010 11:21

JWN Grin You nutter!

desiretochange · 05/11/2010 11:25

20 years older than me would be of pensionable age:)

thursoback · 05/11/2010 11:26

I'm 51 Red, my husband is younger than me, but has aged considerably since he met me 20 odd years ago. He still looks about 12 when he gets back from a run though! Envy

RedDevilMoomin · 05/11/2010 11:27

"BF" is very similar age to you then Thurso as I am 33!

thursoback · 05/11/2010 11:30

Ah well, you are very lucky then, as we are on our second wind, especially if we stop/cut down the drink Grin

I am going to make a big effort with sex, as wouldn't want to let the side down :)

RedDevilMoomin · 05/11/2010 11:34

thurso - good girl! It is so, so much better when not drunk Grin Although also helped by the fact that "BF" seems to know what he's actually doing which is something of a refreshing change! Wink and Blush and Blush

thursoback · 05/11/2010 11:35

Joking aside, I really am going to make an effort. Dh did that "is that a big stick poking into my back" this morning, but I didn't acknowledge it, again.

I really must get over this born again virgin thing.

desiretochange · 05/11/2010 11:35

All this talk of BF and DP is filling me with Envy

RedDevilMoomin · 05/11/2010 11:39

thurso Grin

desire at least you haven't basically run away and shacked up with someone you've known all of half an hour or so Grin

thursoback · 05/11/2010 11:40

Sorry desire. Empty double bed sounds like bliss to me sometimes. Pluses and minuses on both sides of the story, I think xx

jesuswhatnext · 05/11/2010 11:48

ha ha!!, making an effort with sex!! Grin, i think i will give that a try!!! Grin, dh is nearly 10 years younger than me but i have aged the poor old sod!! Grin

thursoback · 05/11/2010 11:51

JWN just what I said about my Dh!!

Maybe I should go and buy some new "loouunge wear" with the money I've saved in eight days.

And my tipple was NZ white at 9 quid a bottle [shame, shame and shame agin icon]

thursoback · 05/11/2010 11:51

again!
or maybe I was starting a limerick :)

RedDevilMoomin · 05/11/2010 11:55

I like the idea of a limerick Smile

thursoback · 05/11/2010 12:16

Right, I must go and do something else.

Have spent the morning larding about, doing research!!!! (but am not officially at work, so that's ok) now going to change the beds, do more larding about reading rubbish book, and prepare myself for tonight inwardly. Back later when I'm going to do the outward stuff. Usually a call from the fridge!

desiretochange · 05/11/2010 12:36

Me too Red:)I will start one off and see who can fill in the next line ...
There once was a brave babe called Red ....

dementedma · 05/11/2010 12:37

Thurso - i'm with you on the longing for the peace foa double bed on my own and the "stick in the back" morning routine.
ENOUGH I say!!!!

CJCregg · 05/11/2010 12:40

I love the 'stick in the back' routine Grin Blush. But then I've only been with DP a year ...

ExH drove me insane with his bloody stick.

venusandgunpowder · 05/11/2010 12:44

Who found a new playmate in bed

venusandgunpowder · 05/11/2010 12:44

(that was the limerick line btw)

RedDevilMoomin · 05/11/2010 12:52

venus that made me smile! Maybe I should try to stop going on about him Smile

Am no good at limericks so am waiting to see who comes up with the next line!

Mousefawkes · 05/11/2010 12:54

Red - I reckon you go with FB. Answers on a postcard please Grin

Nemo's SaLT has now gone and is really impressed with the level of care I give him and how I communicate with him. She is going to send me on a course to learn more Makaton (like sign language but more basic) in the next 6 weeks.

Yippee!! Nemo already communicates with his hands as he is non verbal so it can only help.

My tooth is still killing me and I have no idea what to do.

'There once was a Brave Babe callled Red,
Who found a new playmate in bed,
She woke up one day............

RedDevilMoomin · 05/11/2010 12:59

mouse that's great news re the Makaton!

Hmm, I can make a guess with FB but not sure that you would be so crude Wink !

Mousefawkes · 05/11/2010 13:07

Grin Red - yep, it's Friday so I'm feeling fiesty!!!!
