Thank you Smile well done on 4 days!!!!

My dentist is a WOMAN and whilst I am very open minded and have previously explored the finer things in life, she's not my type! Grin

Great poem though, you are super clever!! Have you had something to eat now, to keep you going??

It's your night off as I recall? How are you feeling about that?

I KNOW, NO PROJECTING!!!!!!!! Just thought I'd ask you. Grin

Good luck at dentist Mouse Hmm, hopefully you will be pain free later Wink

Momentarynamechange · 03/11/2010 15:44

Sorry desire, I did read that a while back but there's been such a lot of posting I got confused Blush

Are you feeling better now? If you can kick the association with 'life is shit' and 'so I'll have a drink' then that's an amazing step forward isn't it? Do you feel resolved to not drink for the rest of the day? It will be such a help not to have to deal with the shitty stuff that life throws at you without a hangover!

I'm doing okay I think. This thread has been such a help as I've never properly sat down and considered the fact that I can make different and better choices. It sounds so stupid doesn't it, but it honestly felt that I'd be stuck down the hole for the rest of my life (and how long would that be if I keep drinking the way I have been? That's something that really scares me). I think I'm still on a bit of a high that I have got the power to make the right choices, and this time I'm seeing it as something far more positive instead of feeling hard done by as I did when I've tried to stop drinking in the past.

Mind you I'm on day 4 so no doubt the big tests are yet to come! I just know my thought patterns are changing [cheering emoticon!]

Momentarynamechange · 03/11/2010 15:48

yes good luck at denstist mouse and hello wasindie

The one thing I have managed successfully to do today is drink my water, 1.5ltr down so far:):)

Momentarynamechange · 03/11/2010 16:41

[skiving]

desire we'll check in tomorrow and celebrate day 5 Smile (am also drinking a lot of water and seem to be spending most of my day on the loo Confused)

aw, thanks wasindie, that's so nice! Watched your link, how bloomin' adorable is that!

I am worried I'll crash out and look back on my deluded positivity at day 4 and think you idiot, but hey, no projecting, no projecting, no projecting ...

am actually going to turn pc off now until later as otherwise I'll never get my shit together...laters again xx

Silver66 · 03/11/2010 17:39

Diabolik how are you feeling?? Grin

jesuswhatnext · 03/11/2010 18:00

aww you lot!!, what a lovley lot you are!! Smile, i know that horrible feeling of guilt when it comes to my dd! Sad, i am finding though, the longer im sober the better our relationship is - right now she is being being a right PITA, a proper teenager, her bedrooms a tip, her boyfriend is more important than anything else and quite frankly im beginning to look forward to her going of to uni next year, from what my friends have told me, this is all perfectly normal!! Grin, i still beat myself up about the things i have done, it makes me shudder with shame to think of some of the awful things i have said, but we are moving on, making it better - she has just rung to say she is out for dinner, but will be home in teh morning as she needs clean clothes Hmm, she has just said 'bye mum, i love you' though!, i cant erase the past however much i would like too, all i can do, all any of us can do, is look to future!, and without the booze, its looking quite bright!! Grin

jesuswhatnext · 03/11/2010 18:02

btw miflaw!, i dont know how many times we have to tell you - the bloody cake is not for her!!, its for her mum and dad!!

Mousefawkes · 03/11/2010 18:03

Well, I'm back. I have to have my tooth out, no shock there!

She wanted to remove the tooth that my wisdom tooth is under to relieve the pressure.

I declined her very kind offer. Grin

So now it's a waiting game, MEGA STRONG anti-bs, and pain killers. Deep joy of all joys! Hmm

As we drove up to the house, we could see a car parked in the middle of the road, lights on but empty. Then we saw a guy picking glass up with his bare hands.

Odd.

Turns out, 3 scrotes had got hold of this recycling glass/bottle box and thrown it into the middle of the road!

He had stopped to clear it up. So then DH went and got a shovel and brush and I directed the traffic! Grin

Why is it that some people have to moan when you are trying to save them hassle.

You know, of having to change punctured tyres? In the end, there was me, DH, the guy who stopped and a man I have never seen before all sweeping the road, shovelling glass and directing traffic.

That's my good deed for the day. Smile

How are we Brave Babes?

Mousefawkes · 03/11/2010 18:08

JWN - I have told KnickersInATwist (aka MIFLAW) too that the cake is for her parents but he ignored me aswell!!!

And, you my lovely, have done a great job of building fallen bridges with your daughter.

She is very lucky to have a mum like you xx

Silver66 · 03/11/2010 18:11

Aww Mouse - I've never had toothache but it sounds horrendous - when DP had it he was grey in the face and aged about 20 years overnight - ermmm that's not making you feel any netter is it Confused xxx

Silver66 · 03/11/2010 18:12

thursoback · 03/11/2010 18:16

Hi Babes,
well witching hour is over, dinner in the oven, waiting for beloveds to come home.

Had long chat with my mum this afternoon, told her a version of what happened to me last week, but she will never think I've got a problem, bless her! We've got so much other stuff on at the mo, she said no wonder I have wine! Never been drunk in her life :)

I did sort of try and tell her a while ago, and she said shall she ring me at 6 every day, so although she's never seen me the worse for wear, she has the right idea about help.

P.s next time I bake a cake, going to bake it with something else in entirely Grin

Thank you, thank you for seeing me through today.xx

Silver66 · 03/11/2010 18:17
