I don't spend so much time on MN these days, the kids keep me busy and I have a busy social life now.
I'm happy to report that after a few difficult years for me and the kids, things are all rather fab here, I've been seeing Tom for a year now and we are getting married Grin
the kids are doing really well abbey and Bethan are now at sixth form and seem happy there, Elliot continues to do very well and keeps us all smiling.
Tom has a fantastic relationship with the kids and they all adore him, Tom is comfy talking with the kids about their dad he understands that steve will never be forgotten.
I am very very happy and at peace.
The mad/evil inlaws are keeping out of our lives for which I am thankful.
Thanks for all of your support over the last few years.

It's hard to believe that steve died over two years ago, I will never forget the support we had for the 17 months he was ill, the evenings didn't feel so bad when I had MN supporting us.
So many kind people reached out and held our hands, so many people sent lovely things for us all, the kids still love looking at the fab memory blanket that some MN knitters made for our family,Macmillan were very pleased with the money they were given, lots of MNetters worked hard sorting surprises and shopping for us all, at a time when things were unbearably difficult and the inlaws were only making things harder, MN was a lifeline to us, so thank you all.

midnightexpress · 14/09/2010 21:00

Aww that's great to hear OJ, so glad you're all doing well.

It's funny, reading your OP, I'd forgotten all about the evil inlaws, although I remember your story very well. I'm sure that goes to show something very important, though I can't think what it is Confused. Possibly just that I have a rubbish memory since I had the DCs.

SoupDragon · 14/09/2010 21:02

That's funny - a mate of mine was telling me about a Macmillan Coffee Morning she's organising today and it made me think of you, OJ.

Very happy that you're happy.

onlyjoking9329 · 14/09/2010 21:10

Time moves so quickly in some ways but slowly in others, we did trifle and sky lanterns on the anniversary in June.
Toms parents both died years ago so no MIL or FIL for me, he has two kids and lots of family who are all very lovely to me and the kids, it's nice to be part of a big family again.
The kids lost so much when their lovely Dad died, it's great to see them happy again.
I tried to put some new photos on here but can't do it from iPad.
