Anyone else hate the stupid “facts” that Ellie is coming out with on Vernon Kay’s show?

I’m not sure why it irritates me so much. Don’t get me started on Sara Cox’s new show

It's irritating maybe because they are transparently trying to make her a 'personality' like Ritchie and the facts feature is a bit of a clunky way to do that. I always find it strange because I used to (naively) think that the travel presenters were, like, experts in transport and that weather presenters were professional meteorologists, so for them to suddenly start acting like DJs and celebrities feels odd.

I love Sara but the breakfast show is awful, my dc have left home, I don’t want to listen to kids in a car at 8.15 or someone being surprised and asked rubbish questions. I’m considering going to Chris Evan’s instead - although he talks too much at least it’s not to children.

The daytime schedule has gone to pot since they sacked mills - whose breakfast show had really come into its own. I too love Sara normally but I can't get on with her at breakfast sadly. Too many jingles, too loud, weird quiz, she works best chatting to the public I feel. Not keen on Vernon trying to be funny and daytime Trevor was boring 🙈
As for drive time, I've checked out, I'm not interested in TV personalities, I've gone to Simon Mayo on greatest hits radio. I'll come back if they get OJ in.
I love keaveney in the sounds of the 70s slot and sounds of the 80s has just about managed to paper over the gaping Saturday teatime hole Liza T left so it's not all bad. Pick of the Pops, Blackburn and Gambo are still class though.

I gave up after Paul O'Grady was offed really.

Sara Cox rabbits on - I just find her drivel so boring. Stupid, inane stuff. I really miss Scott Mills. His chat wasn't so silly and I'm sure his music was better!

I think Vernon has forced Ellie to do the facts thing. Vernon is outsourcing his work onto her! Feel sorry for Ellie that she has to do it.

I have started listening to Chris Evans more as well. He is a lot more interesting than Sara Cox and does none of the silly, childish rubbish!

I liked Sara on my drive home from work but I can’t listen to her at all now on my drive in. At the time I am in the car there’s some awful inane quiz that’s beyond boring and bloody kids in a car. No thanks. I’ve taken to listening to Radio 5 Live and I may go back to Chris Evans though not sure about that. Was so pleased to see Gary Davies back this week but had to turn him off when he invited people to send in voice notes of themselves singing in the car. It was as grim as it sounds!

Loving Jason Manford at teatime. He’s been my favourite of the stand in presenters.

Sara Cox who I loved it the evening has got the breakfast show curse and seriously how do the producers not know that kids in the car is absolutely terrible!

I don’t know how they have not agreed on a drive time presenter.

It’s all so bloody formulaic- no just general chatting and listening to music.

Think.i heard Ellie Brennan in Asda radio recently.Richie Anderson is fake. I was originally pleased to hear a Brummie on the radio but soon changed my tune. Paddy McGuiness. Miss Paul o' Grady and Liza Tarbuck. Waiting for Trevor Nelson to come back, although Spoony is going an ok job in my opinion.

I’m running out of radio 2 djs that I can stomach listening to. It’s down to Trevor Nelson (get well soon mate) DJ Spoony, Sean Keavney, Gary Davies, and good old Tony Blackburn. Sara Cox can get in the bin with the irritating kids, Vernon is ok but can be a bit much, I used to love Rylan on Saturday but he’s allowed sidekick Sally way too much air time and his mother is boring 🥱

I think they may be moving the tea time show out of London hence the delay because the staff have to be relocated etc.

You could try 6 music - Nick Grimshaw is great in the morning, love Cloud busting feature and it’s radio 1 for grown ups - Sean Keaveny lives there (on 6) can’t remember which show, and Mark Radcliffe & Stuart Maconie do the weekend breakfast slot.

i wish they’d sort out a permanent person for the drive time slot, I don’t understand why they haven’t given it to OJ Borg as I think he’s well liked. Although I have been enjoying Jason Manford this week and last week.

Scott Mills' departure has really screwed the schedule. I liked Sara at teatime but she's too exuberant for me in the morning, you need someone with a drier wit at that time. Never liked Vernon and the teatime slot is rubbish without a permanent presenter. I've surprised myself by moving to radio 1.

Can’t believe how much better Radio 2 in the morning has been this week with both Sara and Vernon off. I’m not a mad Gary Davies fan but he is so much calmer in the morning and there’s no boring quiz or kids in the car. Hoping Sara is off for 2 weeks!!

I was just thinking this today! It’s so nice to listen to a presenter who is not trying to be “hilarious” .

Yes, pretty much the same for me. Plua losing Liza Tarbuck and then Sean Keaveny almost immediately after, only for that prized Saturday evening slot to be lost to Sounds of the 80s and the truly unbearable Woo Gary Davies!!!???

I just can't have R2 on for more than about a minute right now. That fucking tea in the park and Chaka Khan get a plug in EVERY SINGLE LINK. I am embarrassed for everyone at R2 at just how dire and awful and horrendous it is!

I loathe Vernon and Ellie cackling away together about some inside joke that I don't find interesting or funny. I don't mind Vernon generally though.
I think Sally ' traffic', at the weekend, must have something that Radio 2 feel needs supporting because her road reports are no longer fit for purpose.
I know I'm in the minority on MN liking Ritchie and, alongside him, the other traffic reporters are proficient and professional. Why make Ellie and Sally 'personalities'?

I’ve listened to the breakfast show since Terry Wogan but Im moving to Virgin next week, I didn’t mind Sara at drivetime
but I can’t continue with her next week. It’s sad.

See I find Gary Davies and Mark Goodier terrible. It's like having Smashy and Nicey on the airwaves. Gary sounds like he's perpetually smirking and their 70s style efforts have had their day.
